A Black romantasy winter retreat. A season of almost… until everything changes.
Jordan is tired of living in her season of almost. Almost happy, almost chosen, almost at peace.
When her best friend books a cozy winter retreat meant for rest, reflection, and a soft reset, Jordan is ready to finally exhale. But when her friend cancels at the last minute—another almost—Jordan goes anyway.
A storm has other plans.
Snowed in at Whispering Pines, Jordan finds herself sharing a secluded cabin with a quiet, mysterious man from Suite 12. One whose presence feels grounding… and strangely familiar.
As the winter nights stretch on, something inside Jordan begins to stir. Her frost softens. Her light awakens. And the journaling she once used to survive becomes the key to remembering who she’s meant to be.

It's not a solid 4 star for me, it's more of a 3.5 rounded up.
The rounded up is because while I had to figure out for myself what an E2 is and even then, I'm still not 100% sure that I'm correct, this story still had other moments that bumped up my rating. Such as the sex, fated mates, the magic , the friend group that started from her vacation, and the ending was cute. I just wish the FMC would've stopped hounding in on that word "almost", I understand I get it but oh my.
E2 reminded me of the house in Smart House, along with Wall-E, along with some other technology.
I really enjoyed this book. It’s a cozy slow-burn romance with a few spicy moments. The characters felt real, and it kept me engaged the whole time. If you like a cozy romance with a bit of magic, this is a good one. Definitely looking forward to more from this author.
