Evelynn Marsano's been gone for a year, but very little's changed. Her brother still rules the underground racing scene. The same girls still hate her. And the same boy still makes her heart race and resolve weak. But this time, she won't let him get close enough to hurt her. Not again. Not like before.

Weston Burke is only in town to set up a few street bike races, make some money, and have a little fun. Getting involved with his sponsor's little sister? That was never part of the plan. Especially when it’ll piss off more than just her brothers—it’ll wreck everything he’s worked for. He knows better, but he can’t stop. Some rides are worth the crash.

RIDE is a standalone romance in the Crowns and Chaos series. It's an introduction into a world of illegal street racing, ruthless motorcycle clubs, and love that breaks all the rules.

Ride is a heartfelt, emotionally layered story about love, vulnerability, and the courage it takes to let someone truly see you. Ashley Claudy writes with a raw honesty that pulls you in quickly and doesn’t let go. From the first few chapters, you can feel that this isn’t just a romance, it’s a story about healing, trust, and the messy, beautiful process of growth.

Ashley is a one-click author for me, and Ride didn’t disappoint. I actually read earlier versions of this story when it was first released on Wattpad years ago, so I was absolutely thrilled to hear it was finally being published. I was a bit nervous that I wouldn’t enjoy it as much this time, but quite the opposite happened.

After spending the past year at an all-girls boarding school instead of behind bars, Evie is finally back home. She’s trying to keep her head down and take care of her little brother, Benny, but that’s nearly impossible while juggling a job, a mother deep in addiction, and an older brother who’s basically the king of the underground street racing circuit. To make matters worse, the person who landed her at that boarding school won’t stop trying to weasel his way back into her life.

The one thing that has changed, though, is West. Now running with her brother and racing under him, he’s everywhere she turns. Even though she knows she needs to stay away, reminding herself he’s only in town until After Dark, that he’s temporary, she can’t resist him… and he won’t let her.

This was such a fun read for me, and I was thrilled to finally experience the complete book after all these years. I love Evie and West, and the angst and tension between them was unreal, making everything that much hotter. I couldn’t put it down. I was reading on my lunch break, brushing my teeth, doing my makeup, when I was supposed to be sleeping, any downtime I had.

One thing I did notice, though, was that the editing felt a bit inconsistent in places. In the first half of the book, everyone referred to her as “Evie,” but around the halfway mark, West starts thinking of her as “Evelynn,” which threw me off. The first time I read it, I had to remember who that was.

Regardless of that though, I still loved it. I want more of it. I really hope to see more of Evie and West in the next book.

I’ve actually followed this story since its earlier version online, and I was excited to see it come back in an edited and published format. The world and atmosphere the author builds around the biker and racing scene is one of the book’s strongest elements. The gritty tone, the sense of danger, and the tension woven through the characters create a compelling backdrop that fits the genre really well.

What stood out to me most is the foundation of the story itself. If you’ve read the author’s earlier work, especially Hustle, you can see how the same world and themes connect across the books. There’s a clear voice and style in the writing that gives the story personality, and the dynamic between the characters carries a lot of potential.

At times the pacing felt slower for me than I remembered from the earlier version of the story. Some sections linger longer in internal thoughts and exposition, which occasionally slows the momentum of the plot. Because the premise has so much built-in energy with the racing, tension, and darker undertones, I found myself wanting the narrative to move forward a bit more quickly in places.

That said, the core of the story is still one I genuinely enjoy. The atmosphere, the character dynamics, and the overall concept remain compelling, and it’s exciting to see the author bringing a story that many readers loved online into a published format.

Fans of gritty romance, biker culture, and character-driven tension will likely enjoy stepping into this world.

Thank you to the author for the opportunity to read and review the ARC.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I’m aware of the fact this book has had earlier versions online before being published and I have at some point in the past started reading it but never much further than a few chapters and now I’m kinda glad for that as it let me go into this with relatively fresh eyes.

What I like about Ashley’s writing is that the books feel very gritty to me yet the writing is very polished. You can tell she puts a lot of care into her books and really thinks on how she wants her world to feel to her readers, the world building is subtle but there and that’s what kept me reading. It feels real, not so much a fantasy version of the real world which you see a lot these days. And while I normally prefer a more idealized version (of the world, fantasy or otherwise), I really did love it here as it fit.

We start very early in the story already wanting all the answers to why Evie has basically stepped off the face of the earth for about a year. We get told the rumors (that she doesn’t correct) and we know .. has something to do with it but not immediately the real reason which instantly hooks you. Plus we also meet West right away who I adore, and clearly also leaves an instant impression on ….

I want to keep this review as spoiler free as I can but what I can say is I love the characters, especially Evie she was so strong yet vulnerable she was my absolute favorite and her chemistry with West was insane. I’ve also been drawn in by the world and the romance was a massive cherry on top.

It is a little slower paced but in a way that keeps you more engaged and fully invested, more than well worth a read!

I liked this. It was a good time of a read. Did Evie and West get on my nerves sometimes. Yes, that's a good thing however because if I feel nothing, the book will end up a DNF.

~~ARC was received in exchange for a fair review~~

Evie returns home to much of the same except for the new guy, West. She's hoping to get things back on track and of course trouble and roadblocks abound. I found Evie to be relatable but annoying. Poor girl has trauma and her decision-making because of it borders on unrealistic. That relatable + annoying combination also made Evie feel like a real 18 year old.

West is just in town to get into a big race but things quickly change when he meets Evie. He's interested and of not sure he should be. He was very much the mysterious one of the relationship, in the beginning. I do wish there was more insight into what shaped him into his thrill seeking ways. Why is this 21 year old making the moves that brought him to this point?

The attraction is instant; cool because I love some good tension. However when they finally decide to give things a try, but it felted too close to insta-love. I'm not a fan of that. But while the story danced close to that edge, there was enough tension from outside forces that kept the relationship from going into that territory completely.

Now while the insta-love adjacent romance almost made me deduct a star, the action was intense and exciting. So that final star stays.

This was my first by this author and I am intrigued. It delved into more emotional and sensitive topics than I was expecting and it's definitely one of the things I loved about this book. The dual POV was fantastic. Evie and West were spot on. I felt like they were perfect together. Apart they were just two Hot Messes, but together they balanced each other. And while this is not a dark romance, it does have dark elements in it. This is not a sweet and bubbly romance. It has grit and dirt in the corners. And the cast of secondary characters is going to be so good to read about. And I will say there are some that I want to read about sooner rather than later. So, to wrap things up, I will leave you with this....be prepared for the mood swings! I came so close to throwing my Kindle at times. I went through several emotions reading this. So be prepared to scream and cry. Happy Reading!

This story is a total powerhouse of emotion! From the very first page, I was hooked by the tension and the raw journey Evie is on.

The chemistry between Evie and West is absolutely electric. It’s that perfect, intense slowburn that feels so earned. I especially loved Evie; her resilience throughout the story made her such a strong and relatable lead. And West? He’s got just the right amount of that protective edge that kept me totally invested in them as a couple.

The pacing is spot on, blending the romance with a sense of urgency that had my heart racing. This isn’t just a simple romance; it’s a beautiful journey about trust and overcoming the odds. Honestly, if you’re looking for a book that will leave you feeling perfectly satisfied, you definitely need to add this one to your TBR!

This biker romance didn’t fully draw me in. The characters felt quite stereotypical and, at times, a bit flat, which made it harder to really connect with their story.
There are also moments where misunderstandings and misinformation between characters create confusion rather than meaningful tension. Combined with the fact that it doesn’t quite capture the typical biker romance atmosphere, the story felt a bit underwhelming overall.
It’s not a bad read, but it didn’t stand out either—more of an okay book if you’re looking for something light without too much depth.

The characters were very complex and compelling and complicated and perfectly steamy together. Plot was intriguing and intense and exciting and well paced. World building was solidly drawn and impressive. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.

Evie and her family have had their fair share of trouble. Her brothers are in a motorcycle club and she finds herself in the middle of all the chaos. But then she meets West and everything changes.

Evie and West are so cute and their story is super fairytale like. The races are fun to read and the story keeps your attention

I'm the author, so of course I love this book. Sometimes. There were times when writing it that they all made me mad or sad. There were also times they all frustrated me to the point I wanted to throw them away. But they wouldn't let me. They demanded I continue. And now I love them again. A bit of Stockholm syndrome perhaps.

Anyway, I hope this book finds the readers who will love West and Evie, too!.
