From pleasures and pain to betrayal and violent vengeance, in A Burning Twilit World, K. Venables writes about love and its darker sides.

K. Venables has a lifelong love of words and languages and despite her best efforts now lives in a house with far too many books. She studied modern foreign languages at university (more books!) discovering how words shape our world and the way we experience it. For many years she worked in education helping others learn another language or to gain confidence in using their own.
Her first published work, A Burning Twilit World, is a collection of poems on sometimes difficult themes where the right words can be hard to find.

A burning twilit world is a beautifully written anthology. Each entry is its own story and the collection paints an immersive world. I found myself taking breaks to reflect as the writing and emotion felt too real at times. I will most certainly read this again and experience each page differently now I understand the full context of the book.

Every word is written with purpose, the structure of each poem and the order furthered the meaning to everything the writer shared.
