Redemption comes at a price. And I’m not sure either of us can afford it…
My life was perfect.
On the surface.
In truth, my husband was a vicious man. I was just a pawn in his dangerous game. But when he was murdered, there was only one obvious suspect.
Me.
I didn’t expect anyone to be there for me. So, imagine my surprise when Chris Rivers showed up to defend me.
Chris is a brilliant attorney. Observant. Entirely too good breaking down the emotional walls I’ve built to protect myself. Falling for him would be a huge mistake.
But every time he looks at me like I’m worth fighting for, like the shattered, broken pieces of my heart might just fit perfectly with his own, I forget why loving him would be so wrong. So…forbidden.
I’ve trusted Chris with my life. He’s the only one who can save me.
The only question now is, will he still want to when he learns the truth about what really happened to my husband?

i loved the concept of this book so much and I loved both Lily and Chris so much! while it did feel slightly rushed, I think it made sense for the plot. I was not expecting some of the plot twist aspects so that was very enjoyable! however, I did skim the last 15% because I was both ready to figure out the truth and over them hooking up

I loved the concept of this book so much, and I absolutely adored both Lily and Chris. While parts of it felt slightly rushed, I can understand why it was written that way because it fits the overall plot. Some of the twists genuinely caught me off guard, which made the story even more exciting to read. The writing is strong, the story flows naturally, and the pacing is easy to follow. The characters feel clear and real. Lily’s trauma and growth are handled with so much care, and I really appreciated that her strength was not loud or over-the-top, but something she slowly earned. That made her journey feel honest and meaningful.

That said, I did find myself wishing for a little more from the suspense side. I wanted the tension to build more slowly and really sit with it for a while, because that part felt a bit rushed to me. Even so, the chemistry between Lily and Chris is undeniable. The mystery kept me guessing, and just when I thought I had everything figured out, another layer unfolded.

What truly stood out to me was the emotional growth. This is not just a story about proving innocence. It is about healing from abuse, learning how to trust again, and realizing you deserve something better. The angst hits hard at times, but the payoff makes it worth it. Everything was handled thoughtfully, there were no plot holes, and the ending gave such beautiful closure.

"Redemption For Them" by Sara Evou completely surprised me in the best way. As the final book in a series I hadn’t even read yet, I went in not knowing exactly what to expect — but I ended up getting completely swept into Lily & Chris’ story.

The spice was spicing! It was straight-forward & explicit, but at the same time, not too explicit that it became tacky. Lily & Chris are so in tune with each other's bodies that the spicy scenes feel like a collection of melodies put together into one beautiful symphony. Nothing feels forced or overdone — it flows naturally, almost like their connection speaks before they do. I believed it 100%. Chris got to know Lily when she was in a vulnerable state, but he tried to keep his distance whilst also getting to know her little by little. It feels so genuine the way he tries to care for her, even before they got closer. There’s something very intentional & soft beneath it all & the emotional build makes their relationship appear even stronger.

I thought the pacing was well evened out. The mystery that runs throughout the whole book really sets the tone & the characters add perfectly to it. The different elements of suspense keep the story moving without overpowering the romance & therefore, everything feels perfectly woven together rather than separate pieces competing with one another for attention.

I would definitely reread it. Even better yet: since this is the last book in a series & I didn’t read the previous ones, I will definitely go ahead & read the other four! This is definitely for you if you're into romance & spice, but it would also appeal to anyone looking for an exciting & mysterious read.

Overall, it left me curious, satisfied & wanting more — which is honestly the best way a series can end *sad*

Thank you so much for the ARC of Redemption for Them. I truly enjoyed reading this book from start to finish.

The story begins right in the middle of the action, which immediately pulls you in and keeps things from ever feeling slow or dull. Despite the quick start, the protagonists are introduced in a way that feels natural and well-balanced. I quickly got a sense of who they are and what drives them, which made it easy to become invested in their journey.
What I especially appreciated was the romance between the two main characters. Their relationship develops in a compelling and emotionally satisfying way. The chemistry is undeniable, and readers who enjoy plenty of spice will absolutely get their money’s worth here. The intimate scenes are frequent and intense, adding to the overall dynamic between the characters.
While the plot twists were not particularly groundbreaking, I don’t think that is where the novel’s true strength lies. If you approach this book expecting a high-stakes thriller with shocking reveals, you might find it somewhat predictable. However, if you focus on the romance and the suspenseful atmosphere rather than the thriller elements, the story works very well and feels cohesive.

Overall, Redemption for Them delivers a strong romantic suspense experience with compelling chemistry and a fast-moving plot. A very enjoyable read that I would happily recommend to fans of spicy, romance-driven stories.

Redemption for Them is a spicy romantic suspense centered around Lily, a woman trying to survive the fallout of a dangerous marriage, and Chris Rivers, her defense attorney who steps in when the world turns against her.

From the start, the premise had me. A murdered husband. A wife who was more pawn than partner (literally ew, I hate Blake with a passion). A brilliant defense attorney pulled back into criminal law. It’s the kind of setup that should deliver tension, mystery, and emotional depth.

And the romance? It’s definitely there.

Chris is protective, sharp, observant, and entirely too good at breaking down Lily’s emotional walls. I will admit…I fell for him. But how could I not?! A morally grounded defense attorney with a dominant edge? Say less. There’s something incredibly compelling about a man who fights for you both in and out of the courtroom.

The writing itself is strong. The story flows well, the pacing is easy to follow, and the characters are clearly defined. Lily’s trauma and growth are handled with care, and I appreciated that her strength wasn’t loud, but rather was earned.

That said… I found myself craving more from the suspense side. Like A LOT more.

While this is marketed as romantic suspense, the romance sometimes felt like it overshadowed the mystery. The intimacy is frequent (and well-written), but I occasionally felt like the “who did it” tension took a backseat. I wanted more investigative depth, more courtroom intensity, more unraveling of Blake’s death and the bigger threads surrounding it. It also felt a bit predictable from the beginning, but I do read A LOT of mystery novels, so that could be why. It’s not that the story is incomplete, I just wanted the thriller elements to hit a little harder to match the emotional and physical intensity. It does have a HEA though, which is nice.

If you’re here for protective MMC, slow burn chemistry, forced proximity, and a heroine learning to trust again this ABSOLUTELY delivers. If you’re craving heavy investigative suspense, you may want just a bit more.

Overall, I enjoyed the ride, and I’d absolutely read more in this world.

ARC Read this is my honest review of the book!!!!

Redemption for Them by Sara Evou completely swept me away. This book has everything I love in a romantic suspense. High stakes, emotional depth, sizzling chemistry, and a love story that feels earned through fire.

From the start, you can feel the weight pressing down on the heroine. Her life may have looked perfect on the outside, but the truth underneath is dark and painful. When her husband is murdered and all signs point to her, the tension is immediate and relentless. I felt her fear, her exhaustion, and the way she has been conditioned to survive rather than truly live.

And then Chris Rivers walks in.

Chris is exactly the kind of hero that makes you melt. He is sharp, steady, and fiercely intelligent, but what really got me was his heart. The way he looks at her like she is worth saving, worth fighting for, even when she cannot see it herself. He does not just defend her in the courtroom. He slowly breaks down the walls she built brick by brick. Their connection feels natural and intense, built on trust in the middle of chaos.

The chemistry between them is undeniable. The slow burn mixed with the looming danger made every moment feel heightened. Every touch, every glance, every vulnerable confession carried weight. I loved that their romance developed alongside the suspense instead of being overshadowed by it. The mystery kept me guessing, and just when I thought I had it figured out, another layer unfolded.

What really stood out to me was the emotional growth. This is not just a story about proving innocence. It is about healing from abuse, learning to trust again, and believing you deserve something better. The angst hits hard, but the payoff is so worth it.

If you love protective, brilliant attorneys, strong yet wounded heroines, and romance wrapped in suspense with real emotional stakes, this one absolutely delivers. Redemption for Them is intense, passionate, and deeply satisfying. I closed the book with a full heart and a huge smile.

📖Genre & Tropes📖 : romance suspense x murder plot x damsel in distress x past trauma x forced proximity x lawyer hero x spicy

A pleasant, suspenseful romance to read !

I quite enjoyed the previous books in this series, and since we already knew Chris (the hot lawyer (and I've always had a weakness for lawyers ><)), I was curious to see who he would end up with … And I liked it !

The plot was interesting (and I loved having books about the mobsters we meet towards the end ×), the two characters were very compelling (battered by life but also incredibly human ! I loved that Chris had a burnout; I like having characters who are a little fragile and not perfect !), and I really enjoyed all the tension surrounding their relationship !

It's not an absolute favorite, but it's still an enjoyable and entertaining read !

In short, a suspense romance that I read with pleasure !

I would categorize this book as romantic suspense, and I think you're looking for a romance with a side of mystery, this would be the book for you. Chris and Lily have tension from the first moment they meet each other, and it build and builds ultimately ending with them making love and becoming a couple. I really liked Chris, and the sex scenes were definitely on point, so the author did her big one there. Every girl loves a munch, and Chris was protective, sexy, and ate the box frequently. However, at times the romance overshadowed everything else, and I wanted more from the book.

What was missing from the rest of the book was suspense. From the very beginning, it's not difficult to guess who killed Blake so it came as no surprise when we find out what happened. Although Chris and Carlos vow to get to the bottom of who "actually" killed Blake, you see very little investigative work happening until almost the very end. And despite Chris being a lawyer, we don't ever see him in the courtroom, and I would have liked to see more courtroom or investigative scenes. Additionally, I think the author waited too late in the book for some of the curveballs thrown with only 70 pages left. By that time, the book was almost over and even throwing the mob in the mix didn't revive the mostly boring plot line. The book also ends on a HEA, which lends more toward the book being more of a romantic suspense than a true murder mystery.

The great news is, I liked this book enough to want to go back and check out the rest of the series. The writing was good, and the characters were intriguing despite me wanting more. Def a book I would recommend though.

Thank you to the publishers and Netgalley for this E-ARC. All thoughts and opinions remain my own.

First, a huge thank you to Love Notes PR and Sara Evou for the ARC of “Redemption for Them”. I loved every second of it and once again, stayed up way past my bedtime to finish. Totally worth it!

A bit about the book. It’s dual POV.
Tropes:
• Forced Proximity
• Slow Burn
• Suspense
• Crime
• Found Family
• Morally Gray FMC and MMC

As the old saying goes, the truth will set you free and I like to add in “strengthen your character”. This story plays with the truth in every possible way and keeps you guessing right up to the final stretch.

It’s a suspenseful and angsty romance with the perfect hit of spice. I adored Lily and Chris. Both are carrying their own trauma but somehow they pull strength from each other. They face the hard things in their lives and choose to move forward together. That connection made the whole book feel grounded and intimate.

The side characters and their banter are top tier. The dynamic between Chris and his secretary Mandi had me entertained from the start.

Chris is a top notch MMC. Funny. Smart. Protective. Caring with a slightly dominant edge that fits him perfectly. And Lily? I couldn’t believe how strong she was after everything she had been through. Her calling Chris her “emotional support attorney” absolutely cracked me up. It works because those two roles should never mix which is exactly why it lands so well.

Some of the wording in this book was just masterful. One line that stuck with me:

“It’s like a piece of our souls slipped into place within the other, forever binding us together.”

Side note. Hank is now my new favourite pet name.

3.5/5

I absolutely loved this book. It gripped me from the second it started. It honestly felt like an episode of SVU if it were a loverstory. There's the perfect balance of true crime and lovestory. The entire time I felt like a detective trying to figure out who actually unalived Lily's horrible husband. Not because I wanted justice for Blake but because Lily finally felt safe. TW:Blake is abusive.

This was an incredibly slow burn. You could just feel the tension between Lily and Chris from the moment he lays eyes on her. I have a love-hate relationship with slow burns. One part of me is like "please just fucking say something," and the other part is "FINALLY!!!!!." When Lily and Chris finally admitted it to each other, I actually swung my feet the air in excitement. I mean, yeah, I already knew they would get together but goddamn I just love that feeling .

I also loved that both of the MCs weren't like in their mid 20s. Lily is 37 and Chris is 44. Now, dont get me wrong I love young love but there's just something about both of them being true adults did something for me. It's never too late to find someone you absolutely love and will defend for the rest of your lives.

The only criticism I have for this is that some of the dialogue between Chris and Lily seemed too fake. It felt like something only people said in movies, which took me out it for a little. It's not necessarily a bad thing but its just not my thing. Still absolutely love this book.

Please read the trigger warnings before starting this one. It tackles some very heavy subject matter and wastes no time diving straight into it.

We’re introduced to Lily (37) at one of the lowest points of her life, and then Chris (44) enters the picture, the best attorney around. From the beginning, there’s an undeniable pull between them. She’s drawn to him almost immediately, but more importantly, she feels calm and safe in his presence. Considering everything she’s been through, that sense of trust feels significant.

The forced proximity element works well here. Of course the most “logical” solution is for her to stay with him, and the domestic tension that follows is one of the strongest parts of the book. The quiet moments, him teaching her poker, inviting himself along to her activities, finding reasons to spend time together, blur the professional lines in a way that feels both inevitable and complicated.

What really elevated Chris for me was his character beyond the romance. His continued care for a former client’s grandchild, and the guilt he carries over circumstances outside his control, adds emotional depth and shows the kind of man he truly is. He isn’t just protective of Lily; he’s someone who feels deeply responsible for the people in his orbit.

I appreciated the pacing of their relationship. Chris wants to be sure Lily is ready, especially given that she’s still technically a widow, even if her previous marriage was deeply troubled. That emotional nuance made their progression feel more grounded.

Some developments were predictable, and I’m still conflicted about certain moral choices made throughout the story. The book definitely pushes you to question where your ethical boundaries lie and whether doing something wrong can be justified by the right intentions.

Thank you to the author and Love Notes for the ARC!

Redemption For Them By Sara Evou ARC Review

I absolutely adored this and I will be reading more from Sara as I felt like she put her heart into writing this story it was a beautiful read and I think what made it 5 stars for me was the way he fights for her and the chemistry between these two.

Lily, was someone who wasted her years being married to her ex husband who was abusive but I really enjoyed was watching Chris dismantle the walls she put up around herself and being communicative with her was what made me fall in love with this couple.

Chris, was a perfect main character and the right fit for Lily I enjoyed the way he was observant of her feelings and helped her when times were hard and how much stronger they became to be as a couple.

I also enjoyed how they both built a strong bond and relationship based on trust and the way they both fight for each other showed me that they are great for each and deserved their happily ever after.

I think that my favourite part of this story so far is seeing the way they opened themselves up to be there for each other and the romance and chemistry that was between them was really deep and honest to read about!

📝 Review:

✨ A murdered husband, a wife conditioned to survive abuse, and the defense attorney who becomes her safest place—this is a high-heat, emotionally charged romantic suspense that leans hard into healing, protection, and earned love ⚖️🔥

✨ What I loved:
✔️ Chris Rivers — sharp, morally grounded, fiercely protective, and devastatingly attentive. A dominant-but-respectful MMC who fights for Lily in every way that matters.
✔️ Lily’s arc — her strength is quiet, realistic, and hard-won. Her trauma is handled with care, and watching her reclaim agency and trust was deeply rewarding.
✔️ Emotional core — this story shines in its themes of healing from abuse, learning to feel safe again, and choosing love when the world is stacked against you.
✔️ Side characters — especially the banter (Chris + Mandi = gold).

💭 What I wished for:
👉🏻 Stronger suspense elements to match the intensity of the romance—more investigation.

📚 If you’re craving:

I loved the romance between Lily and Chris in this book and I also loved how he protected her and also wanted to find out the truth of what happened to her dead husband and also help her to not go to jail.
I liked Lily's friend Anna and I also liked her boss Cheryl and how they were there for her throughout this book. Loved how he took care of her and had her stay with him when she couldn't lives at her house. I hated Lily's husband Blake and what he did to her when he was alive and also all the stuff she found about him. I felt sad for all the things that were happenning to both Lily and Chris throughout this book but I was happy that they were there for each other too in this book. I loved when they fell in love together in the in this book. I loved the twists and turns throughout this book and I also liked the suspense too. I didn't like the bad guys in this book. And I was so happy that they got to have a happy ending together in this book and I also recommed this book.

Thank you to Love Notes PR and Sara Evou for the eARC. This is my honest opinion.

Snap Judgement
Compelling premise with high drama, high spice, and very high villain volume.

Bookish Magic
✨ The return to being a defense attorney angle gives the story structure, moral tension, and depth beyond just romance.

✨The secondary storyline involving Chris's friend adds an emotional arc that shows the ripple effect of justice gone wrong.

✨The slow burn at the beginning feels grounded and believable. The tension gets tight!

Bookish Woes
😫 The antagonist feels almost overloaded with wrongdoing, making the conflict a bit excessive.

😫

Final Thoughts
A fast-paced romantic suspense with layered drama and a satisfying ending, even if the stakes sometimes feel stacked a little too high. The mini-plot twist towards the end took me by surprise. Overall, an enjoyable read.

I borrowed Redemption for The: Nashville Law ~ Nashville Security Series ~ Book 5, by Sara Evou, author from the Kindle Unlimited Program on Amazon.

Chris Rivers, the attorney that Nashville Security keeps calling back into criminal law is called again by Carlos, his friend on the Nashville Police Department on a murder case. Lily is under investiagation for the murder of her abusive husband, when Chris takes her case. Now he practices contract law instead of criminal law after he defends his life long neighbor and mentor and now Tom is in jail for the murder of his wife.

As the investigation progresses, it looks bad for Lily as the two head investigators keep the heat on her. The ending was a surprise, full of danger and excitement, a plea deal and help from a new friend in Tom's case too.

The surprises in the plot kept me reading well into the night to find out the solution on finding the death of Lily's abusive, drug dealing and not a good guy late husband. Great story.

The final book of this series was a suspenseful one!

I really enjoyed the crime element of figuring one who killed her husband and unraveling all the details surrounding him.

Lily is a strong woman who survived years of abuse so when she finds her husband dead with fresh bruises on her face, the police are quick to zero in on her and her only.

After a call from a detective friend, Chris is pulled back into criminal defense law when he takes on Lily as a client and into a world he thought he left behind.

I loved these two together so much! They were the perfect balance for each other - his protective nature soothed her need for true companionship.

While it’s a slow burn, it was the perfect pace given her situation and professional boundaries, and when they finally get together it’s the right spice factor!

Thanks to LoveNotes PR for this e-arc in exchange for my honest review!

i will always always love a romantic suspense and this one swept me away. he is an attorney and she is his client that's suspected for her husband's murder. sign me up already.
chris is exactly the kind that'll make you melt. he is kind, protective, intelligent, hot and an acts of service guy. his story was so sad, how he blamed himself for something he didn't have control on and man he is just so so attentive. the way he is down bad for lily since the very start.
and lily my baby went through so much, to have spent so many years with that asshole. i have no remorse for her husband. i love how she had her individuality, a job she loved and a life he didn't scare away. her insecurities were so real and i am so glad she had him to support her.
their chemistry is undeniably present and electrifying. i love the emotional buildup and how she trusted him with her life. every touch, every spark just heightened the tension and i loved how it erupt and how it was so natural.
the mystery kept me hooked and although i felt like their romance overshadowed the mystery part but it was done well though. just when i thought i had it figured out, layers kept getting peeled off. it was so so satisfying.
this is for the girlies that love slow burn, forbidden tension and mysteries that keep you guessing then this is the one for you.

Redemption for Them by Sara Evou had me hooked. This fast-paced romantic suspense delivered tension, emotion, and just the right amount of spice.

Lily being accused of her abusive husband’s murder adds so much tension, and I really liked how strong she was even when everything was stacked against her. Chris? Protective, caring, and exactly who she needed. They’re both carrying their own broken pieces, and I loved the way he slowly breaks down Lily’s emotional walls without pushing too hard. It made their connection feel genuine.

The slow burn was so good — the chemistry is undeniable, the tension keeps building, and when the spice hits, it’s the perfect amount.

Overall, this was an engaging, emotional read with strong characters and a compelling storyline. If you love slow-burn romance with tension, protective heroes, and a satisfying HEA, this one is definitely worth picking up.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was my first Sara Evou or Nashville Security book, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I am not usually one for 'instant love,' but this was done really well.
Our FMC wakes up to find her abu*ive husband head on the kitchen floor. We spend the book following her as she stumbles through life as the main suspect and witness in his murder.
The MMC has to die for protective qualities, and instantly falls for the FMC. As her attorney, he needs to find his own strength to return to defense (after a traumatic case loss) after stepping away forever, so he thought.
As Nashville's former top defense attorney, it's his responsibility to keep her safe, alive, and out of prison.

This book did a great job representing the city of Nashville, creating must-follow characters, and spinning a mystery/romance/procedural like I haven't seen before. I can't wait to jump in and read the first 3.

This book can be read as a standalone.

I hate that I can't give half stars - my rating is a 3.5⭐

This one checks a lot of boxes for me:
💞 Forced Proximity
🥰 Romantic Suspense
🧡 Found Family
💼 He's Her Attorney
🛡️ Protective MMC
🤭 Curvy and Older FMC
🔥 Slow Burn

Yes PLEASE!!!

But I wasn't fully connected to Lily & Chris' characters - but the story was awesome. A romantic suspense with a couple plot twists that take you on a bit of a turn.

I'm not an instalove girl - so that's a ME thing. So if you are an instalove fan - then you will enjoy this one!

This was a true standalone but now I'm curious about the other characters mentioned in the book - so I have the other booked lined up on my TBR.

I'm very happy with the ending, and I definitely loved how it was a TRUE HEA for everyone. I would have loved this story expanded because I feel like there was so much more that could be added to the main story and the side story.

✨️ARC Review ✨️

🌶 Rating: 2.5/5

Release date: February 25, 2026

Alas. Chris Rivers, you are a Godly man 😩 You stepped up for Lily since the second you saw her, and stood by her since then. It was evident you both needed each other, her after what she experienced, and you to help learn that you are indeed the best defense attorney in Nashville.

Also, Carlos and Mindy were so cute😍😍😍 I just know they love annoying and terrorizing Chris 🤣. And Tony and Seth 🥹🥹🥹 Everyone is getting the happy ending they deserve ❤️

And now that Chris is back at defense attorney-ing, I say its safe to say that Tyler can call him if he needs help🤣

I absolutely loved reading the story. I knew since the beginning the truth, but having all these secrets being unleashed was something I did not expect to happen.

It’s been quite a while since a book’s first line made me sit up straighter and pulled me right into the story with rapt attention. And the one here? For Chris to get this story?!? The same Chris that I’ve had next to no information about for four books
but still nagged @saraevou.author to get him a story of his own!?! Amazing, truly!

“I need you, Lily. And I hope with every fiver of my being you need me, too.”

As we slowly get to know the story after that initial shock, it somehow magically feels like Chris is a character we’ve known forever. And despite every dire situation, rooting for him is possibly the only right answer. From the way he falls for Lily, hard and fast, to him eventually realising that he cannot ever go back to living a life without her, we witness everything. Happily. Without jealousy. Maybe.

Chris and Lily’s story covers some very, very heavy topics, so it can be very confronting.

Full of suspense, twists and turns, this story follows Lily, an abused wife accused of killing her husband, and Chris, a former criminal attorney, called in to defend her.

Now, this has you guessing all the way through. Did she do it? Certain aspects say no, but you’ll wonder. Was it the business partner? His lawyer? Someone else? It keeps you on your toes, that’s for sure.

Love the side characters - the banter and their relationship were great.
No one in the book is squeaky clean. Some morally suspect decisions are made, there’s growing tension between them, and their relationship almost feels a little rushed.
It did finish on a nice little twist. A little predictable, but it still worked.

I was really excited to check out this book because I have not read anything by this author. Also that it seemed like a story-line that I have not come across yet while reading. I have not read book one through four yet. So things that I liked were I enjoyed the characters in the book. I felt like the characters had their own faults and secrets that slowly came out through the book. I also liked the plot for the most part of the book. I felt by the end of the book a lot of things were answered in the book. Now, I struggled with the romance part of the book. I felt like it was not needed in the book. It felt like the relationship was rushed especially for someone coming out of a harsh relationship that Lily had. I felt like she would be more uneasy around men and being in a relationship afterwards. All in all I did enjoy the book but I felt like it was lacking something.

This book is the 5th in the Nashville Security Series but can definitely be read as a stand alone as well. I have read book 4 (loved!) and plan to read them all. Another great read by Sara Evou! I forward to reading more of author’s books.

The book is coming out tomorrow, February 25th! I definitely recommend adding this series to your TBR! Thank you again to author and Love Notes PR for the ARC opportunity!

Thank you to Love Notes PR and Sara Evou for the ARC of Redemption for Them. I couldn’t put it down.

This dual POV, slow-burn romance blends suspense, crime, forced proximity, found family, and morally gray characters. The story keeps you guessing as it explores truth, redemption, and the choices that shape us. Both main characters carry deep wounds, and their connection feels earned as they slowly let their guards down and choose each other.

With sharp banter, heartfelt found-family moments, and lingering prose, this angsty, high-stakes romance is ultimately about choosing love…even when you’re not sure you deserve it. Perfect for readers who love emotionally intense, hard-won connections.

This one pulled me in fast. Lily being accused of her abusive husband’s murder had the tension high from the start, and I really enjoyed unraveling what actually happened.

Chris Rivers is everything. Protective, steady, sharp, and completely swoon worthy. The attorney client dynamic adds such good tension, and the slow burn feels right for her situation. When it finally pays off, the spice is worth it.

I loved the found family vibes and the balance between Lily’s strength and vulnerability. I did want a little more courtroom intensity and deeper investigation moments, but the romance absolutely delivers.

If you love protective MMCs, forced proximity, and a curvy older FMC with a strong growth arc, this one is a solid romantic suspense read.
