Sort of confusing as what genre this type of novel could be categorized as. Some of the content was definitely a little hard to digest and calling it an unusual mixed bag revolving primarily around racial discrimination is probably not an unfair summary.

Certainly a differently strange experience it was to read this novel.

I stumbled upon this book at a second-hand store and the summary on the back immediately hooked me. I ended up absolutely loving it—now I’m on a mission to read everything else this author has written! 📚✨

This novel is truly insightful concerning slave times in the South. The viewpoints and perspectives from whites and also from the many slaves of varying skin-tones demonstrates where many racial stereotypes have originated from, even until these modern day times.
