The Doctor's Property

Rate this book
HE WAS PAID A MILLION DOLLARS TO BREAK ME. INSTEAD, HE DECIDED TO KEEP ME.

Tamsin They called me unstable. A liability. The Senator’s daughter with a penchant for matches and gasoline. When my fiancé, Grant, sent me to the Wickersham Enclave, he didn't want me cured. He wanted me erased. He paid for a lobotomy of the soul—a conditioning program designed to turn a firebrand into a smiling, silent political wife.

I expected a prison. I expected torture. I didn’t expect Dr. Soren Kross.

The Director. The Architect. A man of ice and starch who controls his island fortress with terrifying precision. He controls the lights. He controls the locks. With the rhythmic tick-tock of his metronome, he controls my very heartbeat.

He was supposed to hollow me out. But as the storm rages outside the glass walls, the lines between doctor and patient blur. He’s digging into my mind, not to fix me, but to find a place to live.

Now, my fiancé is coming to collect his purchase. But the Doctor has broken the glass. And he’s not letting his favorite subject go without a war.

Soren I built this facility to impose order on chaos. Tamsin O’Shea was just another variable. Another wealthy problem to be solved with Pavlovian conditioning and sensory deprivation.

But she drew fire on my padded walls. She looked at me not with fear, but with a challenge.

I was hired to break her. But every time I touch her, I feel the cracks forming in my own armor. I am crossing lines that can never be uncrossed. I am risking my license, my freedom, and my sanity.

Let them come for her. Let them try to take her. They forgot one I am the one holding the key.

This one had me in its grip from the get go. This book didn't play around. It was deep, raw, you felt everything. Two different characters who find out they aren't so different. Who want/need the control as much as they need each other. They just took awhile to figure it out.
