A Ryder always delivers on their promises.

The Ryder family has endured more pain than the norm. From losing their mother and father at a young age to being thrown into a world of magic, violence, and corruption, the Ryder family has not had a break. Kai Ryder does his best to keep his family together, living in the inner-city, taking care of his two younger sisters, and trying to stay afloat running his old man's auto shop. It isn’t a glorious life, but it is a life worth living.

At the age of sixteen, you have come of age. It is a turning point in a young person's life when they are invited by their local Key to come take part in their Unlocking ceremony. When the family is blessed with a Fortune, the corruption and greed of Greges City take the Ryder family by the throat and change their lives forever.

The family is broken, but it must be pieced back together.

Kai must leave his home to keep his family together– he takes on one of the most notorious crime syndicates in the city. Will perseverance be enough to save his family? Or has their dark and unknown past finally caught up to them?

Fast paced, multi-pov, love the use of magical gifts! Amazing debut novel! Def a bingeable read!! I’m not much of an action scenes reader but these action packed chapters got me totally immersed in the story!! 🤯

I love indie authors and reading new stories! I often read female authors and this book has a refreshing voice that is set in urban fantasy. I applaud this authors debut novel, I felt the growth and the pacing pickup as it went. That last 30% had me on the edge of my seat. It felt very binge worthy with the setting run by gangs and magic systems, a kidnapping that keeps the plot moving forward, add in some light detective work by the family with hints of Sons of Anarchy, a smudge of spice, and you’ve got yourself A Stolen Fortune. By the time the end of the book, you’ve felt the author hit his stride. Love the action and chapters on fighting, very well thought out and I couldn’t guess what’s coming next! I’m excited to see where The Ryder Trilogy takes us to in book two!

Debut novel with a well executed cliff-hanger. I really enjoyed the storyline, magic system and some epically creative fight scenes. Brutal. The urban fantasy vibes-- here for that.

So glad to have run across this local new indie author and to see the growth in the series! Also I need some closure... that cliff-hanger!
