A good biography for children about Alexander Graham Bell and the invention of the telephone.

I read this biography with my 4th grader in our homeschool. I had never heard of this title or author before, so I’m indebted to AmblesideOnline for pointing me to the book. Since I’m descended from Alexander Graham Bell’s uncle David, the sections about his and Grandpapa Alexander’s roles in AGB’s life were of special interest to me. Now they are more than names and dates and family photos, but living personalities in my mind, and I have a much greater understanding of AGB’s fascinating life.

Terrific biography of Alexander Graham Bell. Out of print, but worth hunting down. Middle grade reading level.

In one of my favorite passages in the book, Bell is meeting with the distinguished physicist Joseph Henry and bemoaning his weak background in electricity. Henry's response? "Get it."

This is such a good biography on Bell for elementary or middle school children. I even learned so much about him, myself!
