In the boomtown of Opalite, Damon’s fate seemed as predictable as the evening customers at the House of Eternal Moonlight.
I wasn’t one of Madam Roulette’s doves, but I was as much a part of this brothel as any of the painted ladies providing salvation to the miners and merchants of this Nevada town.

A MM Vampire romance novella set in the Old Wild West (1885) with Golden retriever x Black cat vibes, Fated Mates, Kinky fun, Bloody shenanigans, ✨powers✨, tarot & some action to wrap it all up!
This is part 1/3 of Trinity of Blood saga, it technically ends on a HEA but there's a sense of unease which I'm sure leads to part 2/3. I loved Damon & Max 😍.
Damon (20) was born in a brothel. Property & protector. D's cautious, serious yet sassy, observant. A masculine gunslinger but also gets confidence as a pretty boy 😏 here. His "sisters" are great 🥹.
Max (300+) is a vampire, originally from Phillipines. M has a gentlemanly, mischievous demeanour but he's lonely, can be selfish & has killer darkness. A pleasure Dom who gives intimacy 🤭.
It's a big age gap duh. M+D's connection is sparky from the start! I love M wooing D & D makes M work for it 😂. So cute! D didn't let M hide his true self for too long. Some relationship development happens off page as it's short but we get plenty of lovely, sexy scenes 🥵! There's strict roles, not hard BDSM-y tho, kinky yes.
Both had experienced loss 🥹. They def need therapy! Things escalated quickly in climax omg 😳😭. Action 😈 & Choice 🥹. I wonder if we'll get more revenge 🤔. I get u've eternity together but u gotta talk or things'll fester 😩. They like girls too & I can see the foundation of how they'll get a 3rd already, excited for part 2! The Vampy power is so diverse.

A MM PNR story that takes place in the Wild West...sign me up! That is all I needed to know and the fact that the novella is written by C. Rochelle
Damon has never met anyone like Max. As soon as Max appears in town, he instantly claims Damon. I felt the strong pull right away. Max calling Damon "pet". Um, yes!
"And what a pretty little distraction he is."
The last several chapters really pick up steam with the storyline. We start to really see Damon and Max get closer, just for a bit of a cliffhanger ending. Book two...yes, please!
Damon has never met anyone like Max. As soon as Max appears in town, he instantly claims Damon. I felt the strong pull right away. Max calling Damon "pet". Um, yes!

well this was everything i needed it to be 🥵 i thoroughly enjoyed damon, max and their fated souls coming together! the swoon worthy meeting of these two had me sat, i loved how sweetly innocent damon was yet he was so curious and subconsciously aware that max was different and he ate that up, as did i. the stocking and camisole aswell? here for it ty!
so ready for more of these vamps, i cannot wait for book two.

This was a short and sweet (as sweet as can be) story that had me hooked from the beginning. I love a good period piece and getting the late 1800s backdrop really added to the story.
Both Max and Damon were such cheeky characters! I loved their flirting and overall banter. My hear goes out to Damon for feeling like he’s not enough for Max but, we shall see where there next book takes them!

This was everything I wanted and more. It was sultry, emotional, filthy gothic perfection wrapped in a bow with edge of your seat intrigue.
I could have stayed immersed in this word for hundreds of more pages and yet it was a whole cohesive plot and the perfect first part of what will be a trilogy of time period novellas turned novel.
Both Damon and Max were wonderfully complex and utterly captivating characters and together they were explosive. I loved the found family, the tension, the pull, and the absolute havoc. It gave Lestat meets Wyatt Earp fever dream in the best way and I was LIVING for it.

I enjoyed this so freaking much! I'm sucker (pun intended) for vampires and this definitely did not disappoint. Max and Damon were so freaking hot together. I cannot wait for more of this series to drop!!

Rating: 4 stars - It was really good
As soon as I saw that Rochelle’s next book was going to be a queer western with vampires, I was instantly sold and couldn’t wait. And needless to say, I devoured this book and couldn’t put it down.
Damon has lived his life in the House of Eternal Moonlight as a faro dealer, and occasional sex worker. When a wealthy man named Max Luna arrives and insists on Damon be his companion he finds himself struggling to resist him. But the town is no longer safe for Damon after a dead body is found in the back alleyway.
This was a fantastic vampire historical romance. I was hooked on Damon and Max’s story from the beginning. Damon grew up in a brothel and while he isn’t a dove, he still is owned by the Madame. He quickly realizes how fragile his current life is when the Madame offers him up to Max. I really like Damon. He is instantly smitten by Max but doesn’t fall into his arms right away because he doesn’t trust a rich man. I really loved seeing him fall for Max, especially as Max worshiped him and his body.
Max is a 300+ year old vampire from what is now considered the Philippines. He has been searching the world for his mate and finally found him in Damon. I loved Max and how he fell so hard and fast for Damon. He was possessive, but also sweet and kind to Damon. He showed Damon the wonders of intimacy during sex and worshiped the man. I also really loved how carefree he was about killing his enemies or those who get in his way.
Rochelle has created another fascinating world centered around vampires in the 1880s. I loved the worldbuilding and how this trilogy will span multiple centuries as it progresses. I really can’t wait to read the rest of the series and see how these two’s futures play out and how they end up in a triad.

This part of the story takes place in 1885, so the language used reflects that. Damon works as security (of sorts) in a brothel, where he was born and where he's lived ever since. (His mother was one of the 'doves' or working girls.) Max is new to town and has his eyes on Damon. He also happens to be a vampire. (Though no one knows.) There is an instant attraction on Damon's end as well, but he isn't one of the doves available for sale. Or is he? While there is spice, this story is more about the two of them building their relationship... and learning what, or who, exactly is Max and can Damon accept that or will he run away screaming. It's quite beautifully written. Alternate POVs. While their story will be continued in Parts 2 & 3, this one ends as though it is the end, so no cliffhanger, and if you do not wish to continue on with the story, you won't feel you are missing out on anything.

The first in a trilogy of short stories following a couple/throuple across time. It starts as MM with a Wild West brothel worker meeting a vampire who sweeps him off his feet. A trail of bodies does somewhat complicate their whirlwind romance but Damon simply says Max is doing what he needs to survive. Throw in some blood play, lingerie, and a tiny bit of plot and that’s the book!
Despite it being a short story, it felt a little dull to get through. The constant asides from the characters broke the flow of writing and added little for me. Also, how are you going to set them up as fated mates and then immediately in the epilogue have Damon claim there’s something missing? I know it’s to set up the MM -> MMF storyline but it just doesn’t 100% sit right with me. It made the ending a little unsatisfying. We’ll see if book 2 changes my mind 🤔

I really enjoyed this novella and thought that it was a good start to the Trinity of Blood Series. I absolutely loved the wonderful SFW & NSFW artwork by Lemonade Doodles included in the deluxe addition of this ebook that I purchased through C Rochelle’s website. I thought Damon & Max were great together and I can’t wait to see more of them as the series continues. Man, Damon really doesn’t believe that he’s good enough for Max but I suppose Max has eternity to show him just how wrong he is and that fate doesn’t make mistakes. I’m looking forward to reading the continuation of there’s story in Vampires Totally Suck next, as well as more books by C Rochelle in the future. I’d definitely recommend this novella, series and author to everyone.

Ooof this was HOT!!!! C hits every time. Max is somehow so sweet, but oh so murderous and possessive. Damon is such an endearing character. I really feel for him and what he's been through. It takes a special author to make you fall in love with characters in under 200 pages. I can't wait to see where this trilogy takes us.

Ahhhh I loved part 1 in this 3 part trilogy!!
It’s set in 1885 in an old west mining town where Damon has grown up until he meets Max who pays for him to have freedom!

Max is our traumatized vampire baby who only wants to woo his “lil pet”
If you’ve read C Rochelle before and love her then this will be right up your alley and you’ll fall in love immediately with the characters.
I’m excited to see where part 2 leads us, as it’s set 100 years in the future in 1985!!

I have 1 complaint, and 1 complaint only. I. Need. MORE. I love these 2 murder soulmates already, and this was only like 145 pages! Because of that it went a little faster than I'd like, but when it's a mate/ soulmate thing I can forgive the speed with which the relationship moves 😆 Despite that, I did feel you got to know each character enough to get a sens of who they were and how they thought. Which is impressive to achieve in such a short time. I can't wait to see how Star gets added to that delicious mix!

Then Max comes to town, requesting him specifically and wanting to sweep him off his feet, wooing and courting him - while hiding his little vampire secret..
So enjoyed reading this, the romance and the spice were so great! The story has plenty to build on and I can’t wait to read more!

I’ve been a fan of C. Rochelle for quite some time now, but this dive into historical queer vampires is just *chef’s kiss*. Max and Damon are such interesting characters. Bits of their back stories, filled with trauma and the need to love and be accepted. And their moments together are pure fire.

Oh my gooooooood!!! Can this two be more awesome!! I love Damon, he is so sweet!! And I love how amazing Max is! This book gave me chills, Max is the sweetest dom I've ever seen and just seeing the way he and Damon complement each other got me hooked. I have only one question: Opal? Now on to book two because I cant get enough of this couple

This was a fun quick read! I wasn't sure what expected when I started this but I'm here for it. I LOVE Max and Damon so much. I can't wait to see what these 2 get up to in the future. I also love how the author puts factual references into the story.

Gay Western Vampires? yes please! it was fun to see Max and Damon's origin story after reading about them in Vampires Totally Suck a while back, I can't wait to see the revamp (pun intended) of their 80s story and the finale in the coming installments.

First time reading this author and I loved this book so much. I wished it were longer!!! It was funny, intriguing, and full of damn good spice. The plot was so interesting too and I cannot wait for parts 2 and 3. I neeeeed it!

This book was just a raging good times. You gave me a queer vampire cowboy. Instantly sold.

Absolutely fantastic! I loved everything about this book! The old west setting, blood thirsty vamps, sexy silky under clothes on his mate! Everything! I recommend everyone reads this book! Absolutely worth it!!!

I loved this novella. Cowboy vampires, fated mates, touch him and die vibes, great banter, instalove. There was a lot packed into this novella. A bit a mystery, some romance, lots of spice. I loved Max and Damon and can't wait to read more of their story. This was a very fun quick read.
