First Line: An M/M Hockey Romance

Rate this book
Jamie Zhao has spent his entire life chasing one making it to the NHL. When he's called up to play on a professional team, he's determined to prove he belongs—even if it means ignoring the inconvenient attraction he feels for his new center, Carter Wells.

Carter is everything Jamie talented, composed, and devastatingly handsome. He's also Jamie's mentor, six years older, and firmly in the closet. When Carter offers Jamie private coaching sessions, their on-ice chemistry becomes undeniable. But the connection building between them goes far deeper than hockey.

As their secret relationship intensifies, Jamie and Carter must navigate locker room dynamics, media scrutiny, and the fear of losing everything they've worked for. An injury forces them closer, stolen moments turn into something real, and soon they're building a life together in the shadows—one that grows harder to hide with every game.

Jamie's ready to fight for what they have. But Carter's spent years protecting his career by staying invisible. When the people they love start asking questions, they'll have to keep hiding forever, or find the courage to claim each other, even if it means risking everything.

A steamy, emotional hockey romance about finding home in the most unexpected place—and the bravery it takes to fight for love.

It has very heavy man written by a woman energy but thats not a bad thing. They they love each other very quickly and it moves a lot faster than I’d probably find ideal but it was really sweet and easy to read and what I needed in the moment.
