Sweet as Sin

Rate this book
For a feisty young woman and a rock star god, love and rock 'n' roll don't mix--they ignite.

Twenty-something Kat Reid is loving life as an in-demand Hollywood makeup artist. She has absolutely no interest in rock ’n’ roll, but in order to pay the mortgage, she agrees to work on the set of a rock video for the world-famous rockers known as Bad Habit…which brings her face-to-face with Nico Nyx, lead singer of Bad Habit and Adonis in the flesh.

However, the fiercely independent Kat isn’t impressed by the hard-living, womanizing rock star. But when Nico’s model girlfriend shows up to the set drunk and Kat is tapped to replace her as the video’s sexy bride, her combustible chemistry with Nico suddenly threatens to consume the set. Nico feels it, too—and becomes determined to win Kat over, body and soul. Yet behind his rock god swagger, Nico hides a dark secret. Can he rock Kat’s world forever, or will he just break her heart?

"Are there, like, transgender strippers waiting on my front porch right now?"
Grace stared at me with a straight face. "Don't be ridiculous. I'm sure they're transgender midget strippers."
"Transgender midget furries!"
Chloe giggled maniacally. "Dressed like ewoks!"

Or this (she was very sober)...

Kenji leapt up and down, squealing and clapping as if he'd just been crowned Miss Futuristic Eurasian of Indeterminate Gender Identity.

I'm not a member of the LGBT+ community but those quotes are insensitive, offensive, and dehumanizing toward transgender people. As if that wasn't enough, they're also insulting to people with dwarfism, and they're kink-shaming (mocking furries).

Those quotes make the fact that someone is transgender (or a dwarf, or into kink) the butt of a joke. The punchline is: the strippers are funny because they're transgender. Their gender identity is seen as a comical trait, rather than simply part of who they are.

Some people might argue, "It's just a joke!" But making someone's gender identity, or kink preference, the punchline to a joke is deeply dehumanizing.

If you replaced "transgender" with "black" in the quotes above, would it still be funny, or would it be racist?

Now, some might intervene and say they were tipsy and we should cut them some slack. I'm sorry, I just don't feel lenient right now. Besides, they were aware of what they were talking about.

 photo oie_rm27t5cpIaYl_zpsr8h7bgns.png

Right. What a delirium. I'm experiencing a bone-deep and blood-rocking annoyance flaring through me because I have to struggle through yet another terribly clichéd romance story with terribly annoying characters. Insta' love *eye roll* and impossibly ridiculous.
And stupid. Yep.

My pulse pounded so hard I felt it jumping in my fingertips.

I'm nursing a severe headache. Thank you.

We stood there silently for a few seconds that felt like a geological epoch.

His lips curved into a smile that left me stunned, both by the beauty of it and by my sheer surprise of its appearance.

"She only told us up to the point where you kissed her on the bed and her panties melted."

The talk about love at first sight while being a few percent into a story is totally ridiculous. While insta' love doesn't work for me at all, I can deal with insta' lust when it's done well and, more importantly, when I can feel it. Although their alleged chemistry must be a foolishly bad joke.

It's totally new to me that the French word abasourdi means love at first sight. Abasourdi est le participe passé du verb abasourdir. If I remember correctly, abasourdir is used in the sense of being stunned, bewildered, dazed, astounded etc.

Love at first sight in French means coup de foudre ---> J'ai eu un coup de foudre. It was love at first sight.

Dear Authors,

Get your facts straight and contact someone who commands a foreign language.

Thank you.

Chloe was practically swooning at the thought of me kissing Nico. "Oh, God, I bet he tastes like sunshine. Does he taste like sunshine?"
No, Chloe. He actually tastes like crack. Or what I assume crack must taste like: heaven.

All right. Let's taste him heaven and sunshine. Not.

Chloe gulped. Her eyes were so wide they took up half her face.

That must be…um…scary.

My head tucked against his chest, I sighed. Then, realizing I hadn't yet brushed my teeth, I mashed my lips together in horror. And my hair. And my face!

The lame dirty talk:

"Other stuff? I sounded like Minnie Mouse I was so breathless.
He chuckled. "The way my dick gets hard just lookin' at you. The way you get wet when I touch you."
Oh, God. We were back to the dirty talk. And we were in my house. Alone.

It is very unfortunate that Sweet as Sin is another one of those books…

IjustmetthesxiestmanaliveandIthinkI'mhyperventilatingandmypantiesaredrenchedandI'mhavinganout-of-bodyexperiencebecausethismustbeloveatfirstsightandIdon'tknowwhattosaybecauseOMGabossyrockstarwhogetsalwayswhathewantsandhewantstomakemehisforever.

"You lie for shit, woman. It has everything to do with me. You know it. I know it." His voice dropped. "And my hard cock sure as fuck knows it, too."
I laughed to cover my shock. No one had ever spoken to me the way he did. I couldn't believe the nerve of this man.
I couldn't believe how much I liked it.

What gives? In an act of mental derangement, you're talking about love, then Mr. Galactic Ego is a dick you don't like. Shortly afterwards you're being starstruck again, swooning and lovey-dovey gazes all-inclusive.

Poor writing, extremely clichéd, totally unrealistic and filled with vapid characters who were not too shy to produce contrived drama that infuriated me. My eyes practically popped out of their sockets because I had to roll them all the time. Honestly, this bunch of imbeciles took the cake on the occasion of that ineffable paparazzi incident. I can't even. *double headdesk*

I get it. There's really nothing new under the sun anymore but come on! That's just contrived drama games for kids. The heroine is in her mid-twenties and the hero is thirty-one-years old, yet I felt like I had to deal with a bunch of juvenile kiddies. Kat and her friend Chloe acted like brainless twats. Unfortunately the hero wasn't anything to write home about either. I really disliked him greatly. Insta' love is a hard one to sell to me at any given moment but this specific topic in Sweet as Sin was a complete and utter failure. It was handled terribly bad and the insta' lust fell totally flat for me as well because I did not feel it. Also, they just met and practically in a blink of an eye they had the talk about trust. Ludicrous doesn't even begin to cover it.

"He All for a woman Nico's known for two weeks?

It's totally absurd. Let's not forget he even

I quote:

My point is simply that I'm not an innocent country girl who's never been away from her little hometown to see the world. I'd moved all over the States as a kid, I'd met all kinds of different people, I'd lived in LA for years, and I'd worked in the industry, which meant even if I didn't personally have wealth, I was exposed constantly to people who did.

Seriously? Thanks for a good laugh but this broad is anything but sophisticated or urbane. In fact, she's an immature drama queen.

She blew a fuse when she saw But instead of asking a simple question to clear the air, she preferred to stay freakishly mad. After she came out of the shower

What.A.Stupid.Farce.

I suddenly felt shy. What would he think? "Um. Come on in."
And then he was in my bedroom.
Squee!
He roved around the room like a big cat, restless in a new cage, sniffing things out.

*facepalm*

Bottom line, I truly love a great and well-written rock star story. Unfortunately, Sweet as Sin didn't do it for me at all. It was a failure and huge nuisance all along the line yet I guess that the "proper" audience will gobble it up like candy. However, those readers who are not into gratuitous drama and shallow characters should check out:

How to Kill a Rock Star
Louder Than Love

These two books answer my wishes. Phenomenal writing, unforgettable heroes and an all-around captivating storyline.

To be completely HONEST .. I was debating on reading this .. not because of the description but because it was already 6AM! Although .. who needs sleep especially after reading this novel?! It was my first time reading a novel by this author and it's safe to say that I AM IMPRESSED .. utterly STUNNED. I couldn't put this book down even if I wanted too. It had me captivated from the very beginning all the way to the "About The Author" section. J.T. Geissinger is an extraordinary writer .. that dialogue was pure GENIUS brilliant! I would either be balling my eyes or laughing my bum off (THERE WAS NO IN-BETWEEN). Lets just say this novel made me feel to the very depth of my core which definitely makes it an "all-star" in my eyes. There's no predicting on what's to come next as J.T. Geissinger leaves you always questioning and WANTING MORE. In my opinion, this book is SERIOUSLY underrated and truly a rare gem. Nico and Kat weren't the perfect couple .. it's the imperfections that made them #bookcouple material. Nico is seriously a sweet-talker and had me "awwww-ing" through out. Every time he said "darlin'" .. I'd swoon and que Matthew Mcconaughey voice over .. I swear he wasn't even saying it .. Nico was drawling it .. SO HOT! Other than the main characters story, I loved the other characters incorporated in it. It truly sets the basis for FUTURE installments?!

You're really good with sweet-talk.

4.5 "Rock me some more" stars

"Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same."-Emily Bronte, Wuthering Heights

Sweet as Sin is the first book in the Bad Habit Series. This is my first J.T. Geissinger book and it certainly will not be my last.

description

Kat is a makeup artist residing in the bustling city of Los Angeles. Called to do a job for the infamous rock band Bad Habit! Not one to be enamored by the flash of fame, Kat is focused on getting the job done and getting out!

"I hate celebrities. I hate rock music. I hate celebrity rock musicians."

As soon as Kat meets the model that she is supposed to "make up" for the music video shoot, she knows that the day is not going go down as she had planned. The model is strung out. The lead singer of the band Nico carries her out. Kat and Nico share an instant connection. Despite her abhorrence to everything glamour related, Nico has an energy about him that is magnetic and addicting.

"Now that is a man. My ovaries just fainted."-Chloe

Nico recognizes the connection with Kat instantly and is ready to explore it. However, Kat has baggage that she isn't quite ready to unpack. She has been burned many times and isn't ready to jump into the arms of any man much less a rock star.

"After the past few years of bad relationships, my opinion of men in general, and love in particular, was lower than low. I wanted nothing to do with either one."

Now that the band is desperate for a new model to step in, Nico immediately hires Kat. $30,000 cash for a days work is more than enough to motivate Kat to suck it up and take the job. As she jumps into bed with Nico to film the scene, the physical heat between the two is unmistakeable.

"Every cell in my body was aware of him, of his heat and weight, the wind-clean scent of his skin, the glow of the lights. Mesmerized, I couldn't look away."

description

Nico begins to flirt with Kat and does everything he can to get her attention. Kat is like a lion in a cage. She has suspicions that he is in a relationship with the original model hired for the shoot and doesn't want to have anything to do with the bad ass rock star.

"Not lettin' you run away just 'cause you're scared, darlin'. Not how it works when you're with me."-Nico

"I'm not with you."-Kat

"Not yet".-Nico

Once the shoot is over, Kat retreats to the safe haven of her friends, margaritas, and Mexican food. Nico doesn't waste anytime pursuing Kat. Crashing the party and vying to win the affection of Kat and her friends, Nico lays all the cards out.

"So. Tell me what I need to do to make her mine."-Nico

description

Nico doesn't stop pursuing Kat. Sometimes the chase can be so redundant and yet, I found Nico's efforts to be endearing. Kat's strong willed personality only made me admire her more! When these two finally crash together, it is full steam ahead!

description

It is always refreshing to read a book where the characters are sincere and real. Although there was a heavy hand of "insta-love/lust" in this book, it was suprisingly believable (especially as the story begins to unfold). Nico and Kat don't have an instant relationship. They have to work hard to trust each other. Nico is still very cryptic about his past and yet Kat instinctively trusts him. When the truth comes out, they are both transformed!

description

Nico is the perfect combination of a protective alpha male, loyal, kind hearted, romantic, violent, and off the charts sexy! Kat is a feisty heroine with a quick tongue and unbreakable self confidence. These main characters together created a sexy romance that was off the charts. The supporting characters were funny and craftily integrated into the plot. There was plenty of drama and yet the twists and turns were surprisingly unique. The writing style is fluid and the text was full of color. I highly recommend this read to anyone who likes a good rock star romance with plenty of passion and a splash of action. You will not be disappointed. I cannot wait for the next installment. The suggestion of what is to come was cleverly dispersed throughout the Epilogue of this read. Chloe and A.J.-I am waiting for you!

I love musicians... I love rock-stars... They rock my world!!!

Yes, fellows!!! Nico Nyx did it!!! I loved him fiercely and i want more of him!!!!

Yeah, okay!!! He wasn't the only one.... Cat was equally amazing, but... he was different than the usual bad rockstars and i liked that!!! Yeah, he was a bad boy, but he was... more than that!!!

I won't lie to you.... I didn't expect it to be soooo... good!!! But i was wrong and i'm happy about that!!!
I couldn't put it down... It was all that i personally expect from a book...
It was funny, intense, with a nice plot, many twists, many dark secrets, many interesting characters...
It was having little of everything, and that was amazing!!!!

How am i supposed to live without the second book???
No, don't get me wrong... I'm so grateful that i read first this book, but now it seems that the second book is so far away....

Please J.T. tell me that the next book will be about A.J. and Cloe, if it's not about Nico and Cat again... I'm pretty sure that A.J. has many dark secrets and the tension between him and Cloe was so obvious!!! I can't wait!!!
But let me talk to you about the plot!!!!

Kat is a make-up artist for celebrities... One day, she is working for the new music video of the Bad Habit's new song, but from a twist of fate, she ends up to protagonize herself in that video... with the super hot, gorgeous lead singer of the band, Nico Nyx. From the first moment, the attraction between them is so obvious that leave them breathless and confused...

Nico is tryin' so hard to get into her life and pants...
Kat wants to keep him in a distance but...
Nico is so damn persistent and he has his ways to bring the things wherever he wants... and the result is a pretty nice adventure!!!

"What's more romantic, Kat? Fallin' in love because you don't know any better... or fallin' in love, knowin' it's gonna ruin you, knowin' it's gonna rip out your fuckin' heart and smash you into a million little pieces, but doin' it anyway, because you'd rather pay the price and be ripped and smashed forever then never get a taste of it at all?"
..."I'm not going to ruin you," i promised in a vehement whisper.
His lips curved to a sad smile. "Yeah, you are. You already have. Just the way you're lookin' at me right now has ruined me for any other woman." His quicksilver eyes grew intense. "And i'm gonna make damn sure i ruin you for any other man."

Kat is really a great person... She is so funny, so kind, so smart, so generous and she's been through a lot of things in her past...
From the first look, Nico gets into her mind and soul, even though she never wanted it!!!
She is pretty convinced that he will shatter her heart and all the time she's trying to run away from him...

But Nico will not let her go away from him...

Nico is everything that might be a rockstar...
THe tabloids are saying that he is a talented, handsome, womanizer, partying guy...
But against all the predictions, i discovered a beautiful man in face, heart and soul.
He is so deeply in love with Kat that in some points he was overreacting... He wanted her all the time around him, he was possessive and overprotective in mad levels, but as it've been proven later he was right...
His past is also dark and twisted and filled with many unpleasant secrets...

But Kat brought a big change in his heart and eventually the truth came out in the light...

Their problems??? Many and unexpected.... but their adventures were so wonderfull written that was worthying every painful beat that my heart was making...
This book really achieved to make me feel all the kind of emotions...

I laugh, i cry, i felt heartbroken, i felt happiness. Fear, disappointment, joy... Everything...
Near to the end, i felt terror and i wanted to break whatever was in front of me...

But then everything got in the right place... and i felt relief!!!

Oh, God!!! I loved that story!!! I loved Nico and Kat!!!
And i liked very much her besties Grace and Cloe!
Everything was absolutely perfect!!!

And believe me when i'm saying that it wasn't the usual, ordinary rock-star story...
Yeah, there were many similarities, but there were also so much more things inside of it!!!
You should definetely give it a try!!!

Oh, God!!! What i will do until the next book??? I'll die!!!!

Sweet as Sin is book one in the Bad Habit series by J.T. Geissinger. I’ve read a bunch of J.T.’s books but there are a few in her back list I haven’t had time for, this series being one of them. This is an insta-lust/love, rock star romance that is full of sexy times, swoony times, and lots of twists and turns.

Kat Reid is twenty five years old and is a make up artist in Los Angeles. She’s good at it and has a solid clientele. On this day, she’s scheduled to make up the love interest in a rock video for the group, Bad Habit. Kat doesn’t care for rock stars or A-listers of any sort. But when the lead singer of Bad Habit, Nico Nyx walks in, and their eyes meet, everything fades away. Neither can look away. But, a bad boy rock star is not something Kat needs in her life. Unfortunately, the female lead for the video has come to the set intoxicated, and is currently passed out. Take a wild guess who Nico wants to replace her for the love interest in the video?!

Nico Nyx is lead singer for Bad Habit. He’s used to the life in the public eye. He’s used to keeping his private life hidden. Because Nico has secrets, lots of secrets that have shaped him into the man he is. Nico has never really been in a relationship and was completely unprepared for the jolt he felt when he looked at Kat for the first time. He knew right then and there that she was going to be in his life. He knew she felt the same electricity he did. He just had to convince her that she needed to explore it.

These two had so many hurdles they had to overcome. First of all are the secrets. Nico has trouble processing his intense feelings for Kat. He is possessive, bossy and there are some serious anger issues. While Kat has no problem putting Nico in his place, I didn’t expect the dark places this book would go. I didn’t expect the suspenseful aspect to this. I definitely didn’t expect that there would be no way I could put it down until I stayed up way past my bed time to finish it last night!

I obviously really enjoyed it but maybe things went a little too dark for me. There is a lot of push and pull between these two. The entire book is told from Kat’s POV. I admit there are times I really would have loved to get in Nico’s head. And while I adore a jealous/possessive hero, Nico might be the most intense I’ve read. Kat has two best friends that play a big part in this story, Chloe and Grace. Book two in this series, Make Me Sin, is Chloe and Nico’s fellow band mate, A.J.’s book!

“When you look at me, I feel like I could fly.”

After a month of thinking, I'm afraid this book will remain unrated for me. Like I said, this was an addicting read. If you like drama, angst...drama and more drama then you will lap this book up. Yes, it is another cliched rockstar-falls-for-ordinary girl story that has been done before but that's part of why people will read this and love it. Why? The story feels familiar with a few surprises thrown in, which again, will either irk the reader...or not.

I concede that yes, this is very crackalicious in a way, but some of the characters' actions and words were just offensive to me. Some of their actions and their prejudices just bothered me. I don't know if that's the intention of the author but it was a major fail and I think a lot of readers wouldn't be able to get past it.

Bottom line? Read it at your own risk. On the one hand, you'll definitely get nonstop drama, insta-love/connection between the MCs and some really hot action. On the other, the jokes might be too much and bordering on offensive and will probably make you rage. I know my review doesn't help at all but I have no idea what to say really, so I'll leave it at that.

Title: The Sweetest Sin
Series: Bad Habit #1
Author: J.T. Geissinger
Release date: July 14, 2015
Cliffhanger: No
HEA

It pains me to have to say I didn't love this book. As much as I liked the beginning, I thought I'd be rating it 4 stars or more. I noticed it weeks ago and for one reason or another, whenever I came across it again, I had this niggling voice in the back of my mind that wouldn't leave me alone. There was something about it that held a lot of promise and I just couldn't pass it by anymore. So I impulsively picked it up and gave it a whirl.

That impulse paid off-for a little while. I was crushing on this book hard. The heroine and her friend had a fantastic sense of humor that felt natural and geniunely funny without seeming like it was trying too hard. I was smiling and chuckling almost from the very beginning. In fact, the heroine's friend was so great, I was wishing that I had one just like her.

"Hey." I looked at her. "If you ever want to go lezbo, I'm totally on board. I've been a certified man-hater for years. The only thing they're good for is their cocks. And half the time they're not even good for that."

I was honestly enjoying myself so much, that when the hero and heroine meet for the first time and had their earth shattering-locking eyes-you complete me moment...I didn't even mind much.

I'm not a fan of insta-love or anything resembling it in my books. It feels silly and manufactured and tends to ruin the plausibility for the entire story for me. Not to say there haven't been exceptions, but sometimes the author can make it work. And this author was working it.

I think the heroine's own derisive attitude towards their inexplicable immediate feelings made it a little bit more palatable for me. She treated their blazing hot attraction and ripe sexual tension with heavy scorn and a dismissive attitude. She wasn't a fangirl type who chased after bad boy rockers. She ran from them screaming. Her father was a musician and his abandonment left it's scars on her. She had multiple disastrous relationships as well that turned her off of men in general. Her character seemed well thought out and developed, at this point I could find no fault in anything. Despite the over the top emotions generated between them, I was unable to set this book down. The humor, the fast pace, and (holy hell) that sweet/dirty talking rockstar with his southern accent were checking all the boxes. I was feeling positively indulgent.

The hero's alpha-ish attitude was hot as hell. He was pushy, persuasive, and had a confidence to him that was so appealing. He took all of her rebuffs in stride and just steamrolled right over her. I love strong heroes like this-the things that would come out of him mouth would alternatively surprise me, thrill me, or make me melt.

"I'm not going to ruin you," I promised in a vehement whisper. His lips curved to a sad smile.
"Yeah, you are. You already have. Just the way you're looking' at me right now has ruined me for any other woman." His quicksilver eyes grew intense. "And I'm gonna make damn sure I ruin you for any other man."

And then it happened. Slowly the drama which was giving me a rush before became melodramatic. It's the kind of stuff you'd see in soap operas. So incredibly exaggerated and outrageous I almost gave up on the book. If it wasn't the heroine pulling a runner then being reprimanded and brought to heel by the hero? It was crazy, drug lord family members showing up. There was vandalism, kidnapping, blackmail, outrageous family secrets. Then even more shocking family secrets. It left me shaking my head at the silliness.

It. Was. Too. Much. Not for me, sorry.

I know a lot of people enjoyed this one, and I'm sure a lot more will too. It has an addictive quality about it that makes it very easy to slip into and get caught up in. But for me, the OTT dramatics turned everything sour. The characters which were seemingly so fleshed out in the beginning became caricatures of themselves and everything fell flat in the end. With the promise this book had, I might even be wiling to give the next book in the series a shot. The "jury is still out" on that, however.

3 Crazy Possessive Stars
Disaster strikes on the set of Bad Habits music video, leading make-up artist, Kat Reid, to stand in as the lead love interest. Acting alongside frontman, Nico Nyx the two feel an instant connection and they don't have to act like they're interested - they are. Kat doesn't want to want the bad boy rock star, but after she turns him down Nico will do anything to show her that she really does want to take a walk on the wild side.

This is a story of obsession at first sight that will drag you in with all of it's crazy twists and turns. The story was intriguing and made it hard for me to put it down with all of the mysteries that I needed to be solved. There were a lot of secrets and unknowns that made me desperate to find out what everyone was hiding.

Let's be honest, if any of our book boyfriends were real people and talked to us like these characters talk to the heroines, we would kick them in the balls. But in our books, it just works. We love the possessiveness and go crazy in lust over the alpha's. That was not Nico though. Nico was more crazy-stalker person with anger issues, rather than crazy-in-love possessive alpha. I wish I could have liked his character more, but he just didn't do it for me.

I couldn't connect with these characters and honestly just didn't like either of them. Kat annoyed me with all her sob stories and feeling sorry for herself. I feel like she mentioned what went wrong in her life too much and it made me want to slap her. The story started off kind of slow but then all of the sudden there were so many things happening at one time and it was a tad bit crazy.

Was this my favorite book? No, but it was intriguing and kept my attention. There are still things I want to know about some of the band members so I will definitely be reading the rest of this series!

I just can't with this book. What a sad disappointment it was.
I am aware of the controversy surrounding the NetGalley arc. I still went in thinking that it was written by one of my favorite authors and that it couldn't be that bad. I loved her shifter series, the poetic writing, character development and the sexual tension between characters that made me want get violent if they wouldn't get down to business already. I kind of went in with an attitude "Am a fan and no one can change my mind." Oh, boy, the mighty has fallen.

***WARNING SPOILERS***

By the page 40 or so I was wondering who wrote this book. But I was still willing to give the benefit of a doubt. To be fair, I'll point out that a lot of offending quotes that Baba pointed out, were edited out. It still had plenty that bugged me though. The amount of slut-shaming and hypocrisy is mindblowin. Again, who wrote this book? Surelly it can be the same author that I used to love so much.
Forget the clichés, cheesepalooza, rushing and lack of originality. I hated those bits with a passion, sadly, those weren't the things that pissed me off the most. It's the character's hypocritical ways and ability not being able to see further than their own noses that did it.

What is this book about? It's about a modern day Cinderella. Why me? Of all the women he could have chosen, he chose her. A girl who hates famous people with a passion, because she has them all figure it out. She's a makeup artist, deals with famous people on a regular basis and thinks that they all are full of shit. Men, who's blood circulation goes up as far as their cocks and women who eyeball and look down on every other woman who is thicker than a stick.

«Please tell me she has to puke three times a day to keep herself that thin.»

Then you have her making fun of homeless people.

«Have you seen that hobo at the end of the block dressed like a Princess Leia?» I wasn’t sure «hobo» was the PC word for the homeless man who dressed like a character from Star Wars and begged for money to pay for an intergalactic ride home (…).

«(…)I didn’t give a shit what a bunch of sluts thought about my outfit.»

«That silicon-filled, glossy mouth that looked like it could suck the chrome off a trailer hitch.»

«Jesus Christ. Where do you find women like that? The ninety-nine-cent section of hell?»

«The six hoochie mamas…(…)»

«Those whores of yours…(…)»

«I whirled around, expecting to see a spider on her arm, or at very least a cheeseburger that had made sudden appearance on one of the trays…(…)»

«The surgically enhanced Village Bicycle took a snarling step forward,…(…)»

Even with some insulting quotes being edited out, this book still has plenty to go around.

According to the heroine, there is no way a wealthy and famous person could have a human emotion. Men waving their green-smelling cocks to get pussy and pussies shiver at the sign of a $ and an opportunity to get 15 min of fame. That's heroines opinion of the celebrities and people who hang out with them.

The first half of the book is about him perusing her and her, and her friends, telling him they know his type. You get few interactions between our main characters, then there is her telling her friends what happened and them overanalyzing and stereotyping "his kind". She hates rock stars and rock music.
Another jewel of a character was her bestie, who was the most unprofessional therapist I've read about. One would think that Freud would've thought her a thing or two, about understanding people, why they are the way they are, that not everybody is a lost cause. She apparently, has him figured out without even meeting him. Forget the fact that there are two sides to every story, that she is a friend of her's and her opinion of him is bias. She was riding on a horse "dump his ass, I know his type".

Then you have the drama that is so unfreakingbelievable. He told her time after time that he and Aly is not a couple. Yet she kept saying to her friends that he had a girlfriend, or made comments to him like "But what about Aly.» You could pretty much predict the twist that fallowed - of course she saw something that wasn’t what it looked like and gave him hell about it and dumped his ass.

Then the hypocrisy fallowed. All women who hung out with the band were whores. Every time she referred to one of them, it had to be with some nasty nickname. Yet, when she talked about herself wearing a revealing outfit, she thought she looked good, or getting pregnant at 17, she was just a young misguided girl, who didn’t had a father figure and was looking for love in all the wrong places.

«I was proud of how I looked. Like a vampy, old-fashioned pinup girl back in the days when having a good figure meant having tits and ass, not a body of a twelve-year-old boy like my friend Gordita besides me.»

«Logically I can look back and understand I was just a scared teenager looking for a father figure,…(…)»

Meaning feel sorry for her, she was a misguided and looking for love. But where is her understanding of those women she calls sluts and whores? Maybe they, too, are looking for love and affection, just in the wrong place. God, this bit really pissed me off. You can expect me to like and/or connect to this heroine. The thing that made it worse was that every time she named called some or other woman, others around her would either giggle, laugh or jump on a bandwagon to name call them, too.

I only made to 70% before I gave up because I just couldn’t take it anymore. I’m sure the rest of it was filled with stupid misunderstandings, cheesy drama with more name calling.

After I put this book down, I was so, so disappointed, but most of all shocked, that this book was written by an author I used to enjoy so much.

2,5 Stars!
High hopes, vast disappointment. At least for me, i'm sure many will find this read quite satisfactory, but personally i couldn't move past some issues and enjoy it.

As you can tell from the rating, i had quite a few problems with it and sadly they varied too. The main characters were underdeveloped and boring, the story carried every cliche there is and all the "drama" was getting on my nerves long before the great revelations.

At this point i want to specify that i respect the idea behind it very much and the plot, was immensely addictive with a few solid and interesting and twists and some enjoyable moments. But i can't turn a blind eye to the rest.

Nico and Kat had a good start, i'll give you that, but around 35-40% they had allready showed their true colors. Kat wasn't the snarky, smart and brave girl i saw in the beginning, Nico wasn't that mysterious, or artistic, or even the alpha hot -sorry, i know many will hate me for saying that, but it's true- lead singer.

The only saving grace was, well.. Grace! I loved that girl and her messed up backstory with such ferocity and i was super excited every time she made an appearance throughout the book, even if it was just to drop some wisdom and leave! Love her and waiting like crazy for a story, with her as a main heroine!

THOUGHTS ABOUT THE BOOK

- Did i mention how much i love Grace?
- I liked the chemistry they shared on the video clip shooting.
- The insta-love, i just couldn't buy it. It's one thing to have an instant connection and another to proclaim your undying love in a matter of 2 weeks.
- Nico was written nico all the time, which was getting on my nerves constantly but i guess it's a fault of the ARC.

I really think that this book will be very popular, and that lots of my GR friends will love it for sure. However, unfortunately, it was not for me.

I love rock-stars and all the drama that comes with them, but with this story I could not connect at all. I didn't like the writing style at all, there was no depth to it. So much stuff happens here, so much drama, that I felt like I read some trilogy in one book. I could not connect to the characters either. I didn't see any character development, only of the story. This was insta-love through lots of "crazy" stories. Nothing new, nothing unexpected, just lots of stuff happening. And while reading it, I saw how women will be crazy about this story, especially about Nico Nyx (I don't even wanna comment the ridiculousness of the name).
The main heroine annoyed me like hell, and Nico was typical possessive, growling alpha. Sometimes, the way he talked, in one situation, referring himself as a motherfu@ker, or in another saying "fu@kin' A!" like some teenager, or in another growling like KA's alphas "mouth.here.", was just ridiculous to read.
I don't think so much eye-rolling drama, even happens in FSOG. And so many cheesy moments... -.-....

But, I am gonna repeat myself and say that people will love it for sure, it was simply just not for me.

If you're a fan of an overly dominant, super possessive, bad tempered rock star then this will most definitely hit the spot. Not a fan of one myself, i wasn't completely enamoured by this cocky hero, however i enjoyed the original plot. Heroine wasn't a complete doormat, although she gave this man many chances for some bad behaviour and poor choice of words.

Smitten by lust and deep attraction for each other Kat and Nico meet and fall in love almost instantly. I loved the way they were pushed to meet so intimately. Again, I'm not normally a fan of insta- anything, however the author spent a great amount of time detailing this insta-love with so much logic. We were allowed into the heroines' head as she debated every pro and con about falling so deeply in love with this man in such a short amount of time. The rest of the story details her understanding this otherwise quite damaged hero and finally accepting him and his heartbreaking background. A lot of schmexy scenes and drama at the end, this was a definite worth your time read.

Off to binge on the second book which involves Kat's best friend!

Color me surprised, I really ended up loving this book! It's a New Adult, pseudo insta-love, angst filled rock star romance, and I lapped it up like melted chocolate. There were a couple of instances of ott drama, but for the most part, it was just fun and sexy, sometimes goofy, sometimes serious, and always hot. Oh, and no cliffie, thank goodness!! I'll definitely be giving the next in the series a try.

Although I'm an admittedly picky reader, it's rare that I will actually hate a book. Usually, I can find something to praise about it: maybe some witty dialogue, or a plot twist I didn't see coming, or a likable secondary character, or even just that the book was enjoyably bad. But this one, I despised. There wasn't a single redeeming feature for this reader. I actually only read to the end (skimming quite a bit in the last few chapters) just so I could write a proper review. Because a lot of times, I will dislike a book, but I can still see why others would enjoy it. This one is different. I know it's gotten some high reviews, and people like different things and all, but honestly, I just don't see it.

To start with, the writing is mediocre and the characters are paper-thin. Cliches and stereotypes abound. Strike one.

Second, the elements of racism, slut-shaming and homophobia contained herein were truly cringe-worthy. A tiny gay Asian man bouncing with glee while swapping clothes and makeup tips with our heroine and revealing how he used to be called "Gookemon"? A band groupie being referred to as a slut, a skank and "the Village Bicycle" because everyone's had a ride? There were other comments that I'm not going to revisit, because once was enough...sadly, I think the author actually considers these things to be funny. (Even more sadly, from looking at other reviews, I understand that the original edition was much worse and she toned it down a lot.) Strike two.

But here's the thing that really, really bothered me. The relationship seemed so unhealthy and even abusive. Honestly, take away the romance novel purple prose and the fame and riches, and this is an obviously messed up couple. Even as a story, even as some bizarre form of wish-fulfillment, the main characters' dynamic made me extremely uncomfortable.

The story is about a celebrity stylist, Kat, who meets a "hot" rock star, Nico Nyx, on an assignment. He has a terminal case of insta-love for her, comes on real hard with dirty talk, extravagant gifts and gestures, borderline stalking behavior, etc.--you know, the typical romance novel "alpha male" shenanigans. When she is bombarded by paparazzi, he swoops in to her "rescue" and takes her to his giant mansion so they can have themselves a bad romance. Up until this point, I was okay with the main story (the offensive jokes aside), because even though I consider such behavior a red flag, I can see how some people might enjoy the thought of being courted so extravagantly by a celebrity. I was willing to play along.

WARNING: BEYOND THIS POINT, THERE BE RANTING!! AND POSSIBLY SOME SPOILERS. BUT MOSTLY RANTING.

But then Nico showed his violent, abusive side:

1. He physically attacks the paparazzi outside Kat's house

2. When they are about to have sex and the some of the band members come into the room to look for them, he attacks them. Nico had descended once again into the unhinged zone.Kat thinks: His temper truly scared me. To try to defuse the situation, she mentions that other people have seen her naked before, such as her gynecologist. He demands that she get a female gynecologist. When she calls him on this outrageous BS, he says she has her "panties in a wad" because he's "actin' like a man."

3. Later that evening, after even more miscommunication and contretemps, they are squabbling again. Kat tries to leave but Nico he prevented that by rolling me flat on my back and straddling me. His big thighs pinned me to the bed. She thinks she hates him, yells at him to let her go. Instead he forces his kisses on her and they have sex, while she is yelling she hates him and crying. But readers, don't worry. This isn't rape or abuse. It's passion! It's proof they are soul mates! Because Kat likes it. It's "exactly what she needed."

4. But they fight again and Kat runs off to her friends. A couple days later, she is on a job, and he calls and demands that she leave her work commitment to talk to him. When she doesn't want to bail on her job: I'd never heard him so angry. Even when he was screaming at the paparazzi, even when Brody and A.J. had walked in on us in bed. His fury crawled right through the line and grabbed me around the neck, squeezing. While talking, he hits the wall a couple of times, and then blames her for making him angry enough to do it.

By this point, believe me, Nico isn't the only one who's angry. These are just the "highlights"--over and over again, Kat mentions how he scares or intimidates her. He's violent, controlling and absurdly possessive. To me, there is NOTHING romantic about this. Sure, I like a protective hero, I like some passion between the characters...but randomly attacking people and scaring the heroine? Having sex with her while she is crying? Honestly, has the author never met an abused woman? How can anyone think this violent train wreck in progress is leading anywhere but the battered woman's shelter? How can she possibly romanticize this horrible, truly frightening behavior?

So this takes us to the 50% mark of the book. We've pretty much established the dynamic between Nico and Kat, so all that's left is to have:

1. Kat leave him, restraining order in hand, without passing Go or collecting $200.
2. The two to marry and live abusively ever after.
3. A crazy dramatic plot twist .

Yeah, the author goes for #3. Sorry about that. This is when I started skimming. And of course, there are more fun times between Nico and Kat in the last half, with him threatening her and getting mad for crazy jealous reasons and her crying during sex but don't worry folks, these young folks are in love! Just...how many ways can I say no?

One of the worst books I've EVER had the misfortune of reading.

Read for Unapologetic Romantic Readers 2017 challenge: rock star category.

My number one favorite thing in a book is a hero who falls hard for the heroine. He sees her and he knows she is different and will pursue her. This does not mean there is no relationship angst, cause let me tell you, this has a lot of relationship angst in this. I'm not usually a big fan of that, but Nico trumped it all. The biggest thing was I never doubted his feelings for Kat, which is why I could handle so much of the roller coaster. While the hero is usually all I care about, I can say that I also liked Kat. She was pretty level headed and I think she reacted reasonable to everything that was thrown at her. This one will go into my top 5 favorite rock star romances.

I'm very hard to please when it comes to rocker romances. I prefer to let the author concentrate on the romance although the music does Play some part.

“Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same; and Linton's is as different as a moonbeam from lightning, or frost from fire” 4 Stars

Kat Reid is a make-up artist in L.A. She hates celebrities, rock music, celebrity rock musicians. But hey a girl needs to pay her bills. At the current for a music Video. She meets the lead singer Nico Nyx from Bad Habit. Slight issue though she is doing the make up for his girlfriend.

Sexy, tattooed, rock star Nico Nyx has found is thunderstruck. As Avery his girlfriend isn't capable of Shooting it. He gets Kat to jump in. The chemistry between them is off the Charts but Kat isn't interested. Nico is very persistant and intense and focused with everything. And a sneaky bastard. There is the three date rule and the thirty day cookie plot.

Nico did give me whiplash half the time. Some things in the grand scheme of things I couldn't predict other things just tied in too nicely.

The supporting characters were really good and I smell a story between AJ and Chloe. I will most certainly continue the story.

Very rarely do I swear in my reviews but I just have to here, so I apologize if I offend anyone's sensibilities;

THIS WAS FUCKIN' AMAZING!!!!

It had EVERYTHING I look for in a book; a strong, kick-ass heroine, a dirty-talking hero (of the rock-god persuasion) with assholic tendencies and ALL the secrets and angst one could hope for *SMIRK*.

J.T. Geissinger, you are onto a winner here, because I ABSOLUTELY LOVED Kat and Nico's story and I CAN'T BLOODY WAIT for MORE in this series!!!!!

I liked this book. I love a protective alpha male like we see in Nico. But there was a little too much “drama” for me. She’s always crying over something and he’s always mad at something. I can appreciate a dark past but between the two and all their issues I was overwhelmed with it. I LOVE this author and will absolutely continue the series regardless.

Making fun of people is NOT COOL!!! Making them the laughing stock is NOT COOL!!! Making them the butt of your joke is NOT COOL!!!
To me it was nothing but swooning, shaming, stupidity, and side stories.

Swooning
Insta-Love strikes again. I generally don't have a problem with it, but this seemed over the top. Seriously, swoons were played out in this, to the point of me seeing, blah, blah, blah...

“Now that is a man. My ovaries just fainted.”
A connection, wild and melodramatic, sinful and impossibly sweet.
"Okay, inside I was wilting and swooning, but there was no way in hell I was letting Mr. Egomaniac Rock God Jerkoff know that."

“Because I wanna get to know her. Because I think she’s beautiful, interestin’, and sexy as fuck, and that laugh of hers knocks me on my ass. And I think she wants me, too, only she’s afraid.” He paused to draw a breath. “So. Tell me what I need to do to make her mine.”

Nico needs medicated. Really high doses. He can be sugary sweet one second, then raging psychopath the next. There is no middle ground, just one extreme to the next.

I knew, to the marrow of my bones, I’d just signed my own death warrant. I’d just handed over the keys to my happiness to a man I knew almost nothing about. Except that he was volatile and came with more baggage than even the Titanic held.

"I’m scared. I’m scared as shit. I’ve never felt anything like this before, and I’m pretty sure you could break me. And … and…” I faltered, my voice shaking. “I’m falling in love with you. And it’s way too soon. Way too much. All I know is that you make me crazy and happy and miserable and insecure, and … fuck.”

Shaming/ Stupidity
"Honey, I can spot a fellow egg roll a mile away."
“Egg rolls are Chinese.”
I remembered with perfect clarity the sneers that accompanied the taunt that followed me as a kid. In the small elementary school I’d attended in Kentucky before my family moved to LA, I was as obvious as a leper. And about as popular. “Rucky Charms.” Kenji’s laugh was like the tinkling of a bell. “Good one! Bonus points for creativity. They called me Gookemon.” I groaned. Gookemon was a mashup of the slur “gook,” plus Pokemon, a word which literally translated from Japanese means, “pocket monsters.” In spite of the cruelty of the sentiment, I had to admit he did bear more than a passing resemblance to a tiny animated character.

 photo tumblr_lmy19ylWuH1qca3rs.gif
Obviously this has left a lasting impact on the character, but yet she is insensitive to everyone else.

Kenji leapt up and down, squealing and clapping as if he’d just been crowned Miss Futuristic Eurasian of Indeterminate Gender Identity.
 photo iseverythingajoketoyou.gif

I looked at the closed front door. “Are there, like, transgender strippers waiting on my front porch right now?” Grace stared at me with a straight face. “Don’t be ridiculous. I’m sure they’re transgender midget strippers.” “Transgender midget furries!” Chloe giggled maniacally. “Dressed like ewoks!” Grace nodded. “Who are into foot bondage. And what one of my clients refers to as ‘wet work.’”
 photo Box-Of-Shame-Sadness-Reaction-Gif.gif
Break out the Shame Box, because this statement is loaded. The three girls are having a drunken conversation. Does that excuse this??? I think, NOT. Way to write shaming into the book. Well, SHAME ON YOU, J. T.
 photo tumblr_mgph6hMcSh1qigfp6o1_500.gif

“It’s not my fault! Nico sent over a personal shopper from some boutique in Beverly Hills whose clients must all be hookers and trannies. I’ve never seen such an abundance of stretchy, shiny, tiny dresses.”

Seriously, what's up with the transgender slamming???
I have ZERO RESPECT for Grace. Way to hate your job. Way to break your oath. Way to think you are above everyone else.
Kat managed to annoy me more than anything.
Nico wasn't bad, but absolutely nothing new and exciting about your typical Alpha.

Side Stories
There is a lot going on in this book. I mean A LOT. So many things are left open, maybe they will be answered later, maybe not.

“Sweet baby Jesus, what did I do to deserve this shit?”
 photo giphy_16.gif

If you can look past all that, great, you'll love this book, but it was not for me.

3,5 points for the story, extra 0,5 point bonus for the hero Nico = 4 stars :)

That is not a simple and fun rock star romance. It is more intense than that with a lot of tension, passion and drama. The chemistry between the two characters is sizzling hot. Normally, I am not a fan of alpha males but I absolutely loved Nico from the very beginning to the end. The heroine, Kat, sometimes acted as a drama queen but she was OK most of the time. The side characters were good.

The plot had many twists but at some point it felt like a thriller more than a romance. Maybe, when it is insta-love, then the plot needs a lot of drama to lead us on .. I don't know. Well, at least in this book, the insta-lust/love and romance part was at the beginning of the book and then the second half was about one drama after another.

In the end, we have a happy ending, so you can read comfortably knowing that, although it didn’t help me while I was reading those pages :)

This is my Kat, with her green eyes and freckles. And my Nico, dark hair, blue eyes, all charisma :)

The writing of the book is good. I love this writer. She has a talent for conveying feelings to the reader. And she kept me on edge with the implications of a tragedy every now and then. As the heroine thought “their relationship was too good to be true”, I feared for the same thing and never got relieved till the end.

All in all, I liked the book... not loved it though...
Let’s move on to the second book in the series which is about Kat’s friend Chloe and Nico’s friend A.J.

Here are some good quotes from the book:

He whispered, “Your heart’s poundin’, Kat.” He was flirting with me. The man was shameless.
“It does that when I’m bored.” He grinned, clearly not believing a word I’d said. I had to be more convincing. “Actually I have this condition where my blood pressure spikes when I’m near an overbearing asshole.”
His jaw gritted so hard I thought his teeth might shatter. His voice came out in a growl. “Why are you tryin’ so hard not to like me?”

***

I was having a hard time processing everything. Part of me was convinced I was lying in a coma somewhere, dreaming up the whole thing. Another part of me was blissfully happy. And another part, a darker part, was terrified. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. I knew fairy tales were just that: tales. Made-up stories. How could I—Kat Reid, regular girl, sometime fuckup and full-time cynic—be in love with, and engaged to, the force of nature that was Nico Jameson Nyx?

***

I was happy. It was my birthday, and things were good. But in one small, quiet corner of my heart, a voice had begun to repeat itself. It was a voice I was intimately familiar with. One I knew from past experience I should heed. Watch out. Too good to be true always is. I had no idea, then, just how devastatingly right that voice would turn out to be.

***

“I’m not going to ruin you,” I promised in a vehement whisper. His lips curved to a sad smile. “Yeah, you are. You already have. Just the way you’re lookin’ at me right now has ruined me for any other woman.” His quicksilver eyes grew intense. “And I’m gonna make damn sure I ruin you for any other man.”

***

He slowly shook his head. “Never gonna forget a single day, baby. Good and bad, they all add up to the story of us. I’m gonna take every one and cherish it, come what may.”
Aw, shit. Here came the tears. “You’re really good at the sweet talk,” I said, my voice wavering.
He cracked a grin. “I’m a songwriter, darlin’. Kinda comes with the territory."

***

“No hidin’. For either of us. Yeah? We’re out in the open, with everything between us, and everything else. It’s me and you against the world, baby. One day at a time.”

***

“What I am is yours. All yours, body and soul. And I can’t live without you. I don’t want to spend a single minute from this moment on without you. I sleep better with you. I feel better with you. Everything seems brighter when you’re around. I can’t imagine a future without you in it, and if that’s not me tellin’ you ‘I love you,’ I don’t know what would be.”

4 3/4 Bad Habit Stars!

Oh my goodness, I loved it! This book took me from happy and excited to anxious to heartbroken to creeped the eff out back to nervous and finally so very happy and excited again!! Ms.Gessinger can seriously write an intense story. If you haven't read her Night Prowler series and you like PNR, I recommend you try it.

I was completely in love with Nico from the beginning. Yes, he is volital, I just saw it as passionate. He is an artist after all. And he is drop dead sexy. Kat, I loved her feisty-ness. How she never backed down from Nico from the very beginning. Yes, there was some crazy insta love but in this case it worked for the story for me. I loved both Chloe and Grace, Kat's best friends, and I loved the Band. I can not wait to see what's next for this cast of characters. AJ and Chole's story is going to be intense, and probably (again) very volital. When it's Grace's time to get a story, oh my... I can imagine the possibilities. I'm all in with this series. Happy reading!

Honestly, I skipped too many pages in this book. Gonna tell you why...

DRAMA!

I would have read the whole book if it wasn't for this...

So yeah, I saw this book with too much unnecessary drama.

I've been enjoying Geissinger's Slow Burn series so I thought I'd give this one a try. And it does have many of the elements of the other that I enjoy so much—intriguing couple, evocative circumstances, distinct and interesting personalities. So I'm sad that this is ultimately a pass for me.

Part of it is that the passion seems to be about the only thing holding this couple together. And that passion seems to be based mostly on animal emotion. There have been a couple of times when I've mostly wanted Kat to just stay gone after some event pushed her away. It doesn't help that Nico is a big ball of rage and fury, and in a way that makes me tense (not for Kat so much as for the fallout on both of them if he does any of the things I think he's probably capable of in a fit of anger).

The last straw came after about ¾ in. This book has had a number of dark foreshadowing statements where just after a moment of bliss/reconciliation/afterglow Geissinger gives us something like "if only I had known how fragile this moment was". There have been a couple already and each was followed by a drama-laden misunderstanding or new revelation that seemed extreme to the point it felt manufactured. So after the latest one I just felt this sense of dread and we've already been through so. much. drama. that I'm just not willing to do another round of the Kat and Nico reconciliation cycle.

I'm going to leave this at two stars because I don't regret the time I spent on it to that point. I liked seeing Kat and Nico develop understanding and trust. Their sexual relationship is a bit weird, but it's internally consistent and seems to be working for them and I didn't mind being along for the ride. Still, with the drama and Nico's rage issues this was never likely to make it above three stars, anyway.

I typically hate rock stars and Kat obviously does but damn, I actually kinda like him. I mean is it because he’s southern? Does an accent make a douchebag more appealing? More likely it’s the fact that he decided he wanted her and he’s fighting for her ... like a gentleman. Now that shit is sexy,

They’re both cheesy af but adorable and sexy enough that I just don’t care. And when she asked why her and he gave her a goddam laundry list. Is it hot in here?

Why do I like it when he’s pushy? Even when she got mad about the gyno switcheroo I still didn’t mind. I must be blinded by his charms because that stuff would typically piss me off.

See? This is why I have horrible taste in men. I was all over his shit and eventually his true colors emerged. Fucking toxicity!

Um ... it’s awful but that’s not your fault. Girl, you didn’t overreact. He can demand trust as much as he wants, but without communication it’s pointless. Even if it wasn’t his place to say, he could’ve given you some form of explanation. Ya know other than ‘trust me.’

Sweetheart, walk away because no matter how sweet he can be he’s a fucking controlling abuser.

It’s ok for him to spank you because he needed a physical way to punish you. That’s it! That’s the final straw. This isn’t a Dom looking to play this is a fucking abuser!

Oh, well, it's absolutely no secret I love JT Geissinger's writing and since I'm kinda going backwards with her books, I was instantly hooked with Burn for you and I'm slowly crossing down my long list of her books to read.

Since we got that of the chart, let me tell you, that this time, I actually didn't gag on the INSTA LOVE lol, yeah, I get franzy on that and it's not my cuppy, whatsoever, but here, I didn't mind it, Nico the hero of the story, a badass rocker, alpha posessive demanding and overprotective male kinda gets to you slowly but persistantly LOL and yeah, I repeat, I didn't mind the INSTA anything here...

so, let leave it at rest.

there's drama, there's angst, there's action, there's suspense, there's a whole bunch of everything as JT fantastically meshes up all the ingridients into this large bowl of deliciously stirred melting pot.

what a ride! ;)

Yeah, this is one I stayed up too late reading...just one more chapter, one more page.

Hot, tatted up rocker that will just melt your panties, but boy did Nico have a seriously messed up past and family. Loved Kat and her BFFs. She gave as good as she got, but I was as tired of her running as Nico was. My only complaint is the ending was too quick. I wanted more. I hope there's book planned for rocker A.J. and Chloe. Oh and Grace needs a story too because I want to know more about her.
