ARIELLA

They say obsession is dangerous.
I say it’s only dangerous when the wrong person becomes the center of it.
Alistair Hertley was never supposed to notice me. A brilliant Oxford professor. A man ten years older than me. Married. Too good to be true. The kind of man the world admires while never questioning what hides beneath his perfect smile.
But I questioned it.
I crossed countries for him. Traded my old life for the cold stone streets of Oxford just to exist closer to him. To watch him. Study him. Learn every habit, every silence, every crack in the mask he wears so beautifully.
Because obsession is hunger disguised as love. The deeper I fall into Alistair’s world, the more I realize he isn’t the charming professor everyone worships. He’s something far worse. And somehow… I still want him more than before.

ALISTAIR

Human beings are predictable. Obsessions are not.
For over a year, I’ve felt a presence watching me from the shadows of Oxford. Patient. Curious. Punctual. Unnaturally devoted. Most people would categorize it under ‘stalking’. I’d call it a pattern waiting to be understood.
Then I finally learn who she is.
Ariella Keinston is too young, too cunning, too observant for her own good. A girl wrapped in wealth and innocence convincing enough to fool everyone except me—a damsel in disguise. She watches me like she’s searching for something beneath my skin. And the unsettling part is… she’s closer to the truth than anyone has ever been before.
I should remove the threat before it becomes a problem. Instead, I let her linger.
Because Ariella isn’t frightened by darkness. She orbits around it. The more she gravitates into my life, the more dangerous she becomes—not only to my secrets, but to the control I’ve spent years perfecting.

An obsessive student. A dangerously intelligent professor. Hidden experiments. Buried secrets. And a twisted attraction balancing between devotion and destruction.
In a world where monsters wear human skin, falling in love might be the deadliest mistake of all.

This is my first book by Tes Archer and I loved it! I was literally hooked from the start! I can’t wait to read more!
I don’t know much about engineering but I do love how it was incorporated into this book!
I love a student x professor read and this did not disappoint! The psychological mind games!? The obsession between the main characters!? Addictive! I love that she stalks him, it was different and not something I’ve read often!
Morally grey men are where it’s at! 😍 and this MMC definitely fits into this category! If you’re looking for a book with witty banter and stalker-ish obsession then look no further!

Pure AI slop. The artwork is AI-generated and verifiable through SynthID, yet the author falsely claims it was hand-drawn. The writing is just as awful—lazy, soulless, and painfully bad. I won't support authors who deceive their audience and pass AI-generated work off as their own.

Review of Advanced Copy received from Author

This book completely consumed me from the very first page. This isn’t your typical professor/student romance. It’s a dark psychological chess match where obsession blurs into desire, and every chapter peels back another disturbing layer.

Ariella isn’t a helpless heroine waiting to be saved. She’s intelligent, calculating, and just as obsessive as the man she’s been watching. Alistair is the definition of morally gray… brilliant, unsettling, manipulative, and impossible to look away from. Their chemistry isn’t sweet. It’s intoxicating, dangerous, and wrapped in tension that kept me glued to every page.

The alternating POVs were one of my favorite parts. Getting inside both of their minds made the cat-and-mouse dynamic even more addictive. Every revelation had me questioning who was truly hunting whom, and just when I thought I had things figured out, another twist pulled the rug out from under me.

If you love:
🖤 Obsessive love
🖤 Morally gray characters
🖤 Professor/student tension
🖤 Psychological mind games
🖤 Secrets and hidden identities
🖤 Slow-burning obsession with explosive payoff

…then clear your schedule, because this book is impossible to put down.

Dark, unsettling, brilliantly written, and deliciously addictive, Damsel in Disguise proves that sometimes the most dangerous monsters aren’t hiding in the shadows. They’re standing right in front of you, wearing a perfect smile.

This was a five-star read that had me questioning everyone’s motives until the very last page.

4.5 STARS — 4 CHILLIES 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Okay… THIS was my first ARC read, and I think I started with the BEST ONE. 😭🫠

I’ve always wanted a book with an obsessed FMC, and Ariella delivered. 😂🔥

ARIella. MY GIRL. 🫠🖤
I LOVE HER.

She is fearless, chaotic, and completely unhinged for Alistair. The fact that she literally stalks him on her bike??? 😭😭 And I was still cheering her on. 💀

But she’s not a doormat—she has her own mind, ambitions, and will argue with him. THAT is the FMC I love. 👏🏻🔥

And then…

ALISTAIR HERTLEY. 🥵🖤

Professor. Brilliant. Mysterious. Possessive. Morally grey. Secret identity.

EXCUSE ME??? 😭

He’s layered, intense, and gives major “could ruin your life” energy. 🫠🔥

The possessiveness? The watching? The control? I ate it up. 🖤

Then there is ASHER 🥹❤️

His bond with Ariella was everything—funny, warm, and protective. It balanced the darker tone so well. 🥹

And ADRIAN… 😮‍💨🔥

Barely any page time but unforgettable. The moment he appears, you feel it. I NEED MORE. 👀🖤

Overall, this book gave me obsession, secrets, morally grey chaos, banter, danger, and a romance I couldn’t look away from. 👁️👄👁️

Did I question Ariella’s choices?

Yes.

Did I stop reading?

NO. 😂

I came for an obsessed FMC and got exactly that.

Tes Archer understood the assignment. 😭🔥🖤

What a way to start my ARC journey. 🫠📖🔥

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I’ll definitely stick around for more!

Arielle is part of an elite family, who runs a mega cyber tech company and is basically untouchable. She also has ties to the mafia, thanks to her brother, who left the family to join the mafia. But don’t think that is all there is to her. She may seem innocent and shy, but she is definitely not - especially when she has her leather bodysuit and platform boots on!
She is obsessed with an Engineering professor at Oxford, so obsessed SHE stalks HIM. Who cares that she has to move from Australia to England? Or that he is almost 10 years older than her? Or that he is married? But there is so much more to Alaistor Hartley that Ari doesn’t know from stalking him. And that leads to her demise. Or almost demise.

I loved that the FMC was the stalker in this book, but that she was also both shy and a little badass when she wanted to be. (But also a lot psychotic when she feels scorned) Showing that sometimes, we just need the right person (or who we think is the right person) to bring us out of our ‘shell’. The MMC was certainly more than a little morally gray, he also was an 11 on the controlling side, despite the FMC trying to break the control.

I’d love to see more on Aris family dynamic and what exactly being a Keinston means. And what is in store for Asher and Adrian.

I received this book as an Advanced Copy and I am writing this review voluntarily

This book was so good!!! I had trouble putting it down.

Alistair the professor and Ariella a student who comes from a very important tech giant family. This is not your typical professor/student story, it’s so much better! Both MC are obsessive in their own ways and I am not sure that I have ever read anything like this. This book has a dark theme so make sure to check the trigger warnings out. There is a scientific aspect that I found to be very interesting with a secret society. Just when you think you know what is going on you are taken on another direction. Alistair is not all that he seems and Ariella is a confident and very intelligent young lady. She knows what she wants and begins to go after it regardless of the possible issues. The ending I did not see coming!

This is my first book by Tes Archer but I will be reading more!

My first book by Tes Archer and all I can say is that it is incredibly cleverly written. I was pleasantly sursprised by how detailed the inner workings of Alistair and Ariella's mind worked. They were unhinged in the most fascinating way.

It was a unique plot line that had me curious to see it develop. The more I read, the more interesting it got!

I loved the siblings/cousin dynamics between the Keinstons. How they always had each others backs and supported each other no questions asked.

The flashbacks helped give more insight into the characters mental state and explain their behaviour more.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it is rather dark so please do refer to the trigger warnings beforehand!

Wow. Wow. Wow.

My first ever ARC read and it did not disappoint. Ariella and Alistair are one of my new favourite book couples.

The troupes had me in a chokehold from the minute I started reading. There were some plot holes, but overall it was one hell of a read. I loved it!!

Thank you for trusting me as an ARC reader for this fantastic bookl

Sooo this dark obsessive read will become an obsession of your own. If you're a dark rom lover, this is the next book on your list.

If obsession is your thing, yes. The main characters are intelligent, the kind you know that they know better yet they continue to "interact" .
It takes a lot for me to gasp in a dark romance, but gasp I did at certain parts.

I need more from Alistair!!

It was a pleasure to receive an ARC of this book. I literally read it in two days. I LOVED the reverse stalker trope (this was a first for me & I’ve read a lot of dark romance) and I DEVOURED the dynamic between Ariella and Alistair. This was an easy 4 star read for me.

Damsel in Disguise follows a young student named Ariella who uproots her entire life and moves to England to study under the professor she's been obsessed with for years. We watch as her fascination slowly spirals into a full-blown obsession. Sneaking into his house, watching him sleep, stalking his every move, and becoming increasingly entangled in his dangerous double life, she soon discovers her mysterious professor is hiding far more than she could ever have imagined. As secrets surrounding a shadowy organisation come to light, their unhealthy fixation on one another becomes impossible to ignore.

The roles are completely flipped, with the FMC being the obsessive stalker instead of the MMC, and I absolutely loved how unhinged she was. She's morally questionable, wildly committed to the bit, and somehow still strangely endearing. The pacing never really slowed down, constantly introducing new twists without becoming confusing.

Alistair’s secret life added a fresh layer to what could have been a straightforward stalker romance, and I found myself flying through the pages to see how everything connected. I honestly don't have any major complaints. I adore Ari and Alistair together, so twisted yet still so right, they were meant for each other, no doubt about it. Despite being a slow burn, those final moments when control was lost, magical. It was entertaining from start to finish, the chemistry worked, and despite how ridiculous some of the situations were, I was completely invested. I demolished this in a single day and had no regrets.

ARC Review

This ended up being a pretty decent read for me. It definitely isn't your typical romance and leans much more into the psychological side of things with a dark academia feel. Right from the beginning, you know something isn't quite right, and that feeling sticks with you throughout the entire book.

Ariella is completely consumed by her obsession with Alistair, and I honestly wasn't sure what to expect from either of them. They're both intelligent, secretive, and make choices that had me questioning what they were going to do next. Their relationship is complicated, unhealthy, and full of tension, which made it hard to look away.

I will admit some of the engineering and scientific parts went over my head at times. There were moments where I had to slow down because I felt a little lost, but it didn't stop me from enjoying the overall story. The mystery surrounding Alistair kept me interested, and every time I thought I was starting to understand him, something else would make me question everything again. He has some very dark secrets that I definitely wasn't expecting.

I also liked that Ariella wasn't written as someone who needed saving. She was determined, smart, and willing to go to extreme lengths for what she wanted, even when it wasn't always the best decision. Sometimes I wanted to yell at her to stop, while other times I couldn't help but admire how fearless she was.

The book has plenty of suspense, secrets, and twists mixed in with the romance. It does cover some heavy and disturbing topics, so I definitely recommend checking the trigger warnings before jumping in.

By the end I found myself asking so many questions. Does Ariella actually get the man she's been chasing? Does her obsession finally catch up with her? Does she make it out alive after everything she's pulled herself into? You'll have to read it to find out.

Overall, I thought it was a good read. It wasn't perfect, and there were a few parts that confused me, but the story kept me interested enough that I wanted to see how everything played out. If you enjoy dark romances with morally gray characters, psychological suspense, hidden secrets, and plenty of tension, I think this one is worth picking up.

Author ARC for my honest review.

I picked this book up expecting a dark romance, but what I found was something far more psychological. This isn’t a story about a helpless heroine falling for a dangerous man, it’s about two people who are equally obsessed, equally intelligent, and constantly trying to stay one step ahead of each other.

One of my favourite things was how unpredictable everything felt. Every time I thought I had worked out where the story was going, another secret surfaced and completely changed the direction. The mystery is layered, and the author does a great job of revealing just enough to keep you questioning everyone’s motives until the very end.

Ariella was such an interesting protagonist. On the surface she appears quiet and innocent, but beneath that facade is someone incredibly calculating. Watching her obsession collide with Alistair’s own darkness created a fascinating dynamic that never felt one-sided. Their relationship isn’t built on sweetness, it’s built on tension, manipulation, attraction, and a constant psychological push and pull.

I also really enjoyed the dual POVs. Being inside both of their heads made the mind games even more addictive because neither character is ever completely honest, not even with themselves.

The world itself surprised me as well. What begins with a professor/student obsession slowly unfolds into something much bigger, with hidden organisations, family secrets, scientific experimentation, and twists I genuinely didn’t expect. The engineering elements might feel a little heavy at first, but once the story finds its rhythm, it becomes incredibly difficult to put down.

If you enjoy morally grey characters, obsessive romance, psychological cat-and-mouse games, layered mysteries, and relationships that blur the line between love and obsession, this is definitely worth picking up.

As an ARC reader, I absolutely devoured Damsel in Disguise. From the very first page, this book had me completely hooked, and I couldn't put it down. 👀🖤🥰

One of my favourite things was the obsessive love dynamic and the role reversal where she's the stalker. It felt fresh, intense, and so entertaining to read. The professor/student relationship, psychological mind games, and the morally grey characters created such an addictive atmosphere. I loved that we got multiple POVs because it allowed us to dive deep into both characters' minds, understand their motivations, and experience the intense connection between them. It's obvious they're both psychologically complex, and that only made them even more fascinating.

The rich heiress, mafia, and secret society elements added another layer of mystery and intrigue that kept me turning the pages. I also have to mention the synthetes—they were one of the most unique aspects of the story. I genuinely loved the engineering and scientific detail behind how they worked. It gave the world a depth that made everything feel immersive and believable.

This book doesn't shy away from dark themes, and all of the trigger warnings are there for a reason. If you're a dark romance reader who enjoys exploring those themes, this absolutely delivers. Personally, I loved every single one of them and appreciated that the author fully committed to the story they wanted to tell.

Overall, Damsel in Disguise was gripping, dark, intelligent, and completely addictive. If you enjoy obsessive love, morally grey characters, psychological tension, mafia and secret society vibes, unique sci-fi elements, and plenty of twists, I highly recommend adding this one to your TBR.

ALISTAIR + ARIELLA

From the beginning of Damsel in Disguise there is a vibe of there is more than what you see going on. This story is layered beyond belief. Before you even begin please read the extensive trigger list... yes, it is extensive. It is probably one of the longest TW list I've seen in a while but honestly, it sets your expectations. It, however, doesn't prepare you with regard to what you'll find out about our MCs.

Both Alistair and Ariella are a little dark. Off the rip I got the sense that Ari was more than meets the eye and she found that in Alistair before she even knew it. She was legit stalking the man and he felt it. Little did we know that Alistair was leading a life that wasn't parallel to the teaching job.

I wouldn't deem this as a romance. It's more of an obsession for both MCs. Our FMC is devoted to our MMC and our MMC is just morally corrupt in the best way. I believe that they are embracing of each other and all their flaws. This is a read you won't forget.

Damsel in Disguise is going to have you engaged from start to end. There are twists and turns that came out of nowhere. This was my first book by Tes Archer but I can 100% say it will not be my last. Every page is earned (all 700 of them).

I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily reviewing.

damsel in disguise

Damsel in Disguise completely surprised me. I had high expectations for a dark academia romance, but the book turned out to be so much more. It masterfully blends psychological suspense, obsession, morally ambiguous (and sometimes morally reprehensible) characters, science, mystery, and romance into a unique and captivating narrative.

The dynamic between Ariella and Alistair kept me hooked from the very beginning. Ariella is not your conventional heroine; she is bold, obsessive, intelligent, and unapologetically herself. Watching their relationship unfold was both intriguing and unpredictable, making it a truly captivating read.

The world-building in this book is another standout aspect. The psychological thriller elements and scientific aspects add depth and complexity to the story, setting it apart from many other dark romances I’ve encountered.

However, it’s important to note that this book delves into darker themes and contains sensitive content, so please be mindful of these warnings before diving in. If you enjoy obsessive characters, dark academia, suspense, morally complex protagonists, and romances that keep you questioning everyone’s motives, this book is definitely worth adding to your TBR list.

I received an ARC of this book and am sharing my honest review with you.

I received an ebook ARC in return for an honest review.

This is actually a 3.5 from me but has the potential to be 4 stars with more editing and proof reading.

The first quarter of the book felt like a study session and almost put me off continuing however I was intrigued by the character dynamic and stuck with it I'm glad I did. Once it got going I couldn't put it down.

Ariella is not what she seems to the outside world and this has caught the attention of not just Alistair but also an underground secret society.

But then again Alistair is also not the person he is portraying and has quite a few secrets of his own which for any other couple would be a deal breaker but these two are constantly drawn to each other.

I liked the concept, the plot twists, the dark element to the characters and that dance scene was swoon worthy.

Highlighted quotes

"You really are a magnificent little psycho, aren't you?"

So yes, I'm not forgiving him because it's the safer choice. I'm forgiving him because I don't want a safe life. I want the demon who looks at my darkness and calls it a puzzle.

The woman who dismantled me. The woman who lied to me. The woman who somehow gave me everything I never realised I wanted.

This book completely pulled me in from the very first page. The writing is so vivid and descriptive that it felt less like I was reading and more like I was watching a movie unfold in my mind. Every scene was beautifully crafted, making it easy to picture the world, the characters, and every emotional moment.
The FMC and MMC were absolutely incredible. They both carried an air of mystery that kept me wanting to learn more about them, and uncovering their secrets made the story even more addictive. Their banter was one of my favorite parts of the book—it was witty, effortless, and full of chemistry. Every conversation between them had me smiling, laughing, or eagerly waiting to see what they would say next.
This is definitely one of those books I’ll be rereading. Knowing the twists and emotional moments won’t take away from the experience because the characters, relationships, and storytelling are just that good.
I wholeheartedly recommend this book to my friends and family. If you enjoy captivating storytelling, unforgettable characters, mystery, and fantastic banter, this is a book you absolutely don’t want to miss. It’s an easy five-star read for me, and I can’t wait to experience it all over again.

I received this as an advanced reader copy…Damsel in Disguise is a dark romance that isn’t afraid to lean into the unexpected. The FMC has some intense female-stalker tendencies, which flips the usual dynamic on its head and makes for a fascinating read.

The story blends mafia intrigue with a puppet-master style villain who seems to be pulling every string behind the scenes. Add in bio-medical and robotic elements with SYFI-inspired twists, and you get a plot that feels unique and unpredictable.

What I enjoyed most was the story itself. The plot kept me engaged, the mystery unfolded at a good pace, and I found myself wanting to know how all the seemingly unrelated pieces would come together. The world-building is ambitious, mixing crime, psychological manipulation, and futuristic concepts into something that stands apart from a typical mafia romance.

If you enjoy dark romance with morally gray characters, psychological tension, and a plot that ventures into science-fiction territory, this one is worth checking out.

⚠️ Content Note: This book contains dark themes, obsessive behavior, violence, and other content that may not be suitable for all readers. Be sure to check the trigger warnings before diving in.

When stalking becomes an obsession and that obsession just might cost you everything!! Sign me up for this ride?? 😳😱

Ariella living in Australia develops an internet crush on Oxford Professor Alistair all the way across the pond in England. However, watching over the internet was not enough. She HAD to get close to him!! 🫣🤭 Get them grades girl to get into such a distinguished university!! 👏🏽

Did Ariella get more than she bargained for with the hot Professsor? She discovered that things are not always as they seem over the internet versus in person. The good Professor had a secret life that nobody knows about and “little kitty”, Ariella may have bitten off more than she can chew! 😬🫣

Alistair was an Oxford Professor by day and next in line for the secret society Triarch Dominion by night. Working to create the next greatest Synthète for the greater good of their cause by any means necessary. 😳👀

This book had me laughing at the banter between Ariella and her brothers Archer and Adrian (cousin). Swooning, laughing, and clutching my invisible pearls with Alistair and Ariella. It also kept me on my toes filled with psychological suspense and plot twists making me wonder what’s going to happen next. Ariella and Alistair’s story was definitely one for the books (pun intended). 🤭🤪

I love a stalker romance where the fmc is the stalker and Tes Archer didn’t disappoint. This book was unhinged in all the best ways, with two completely unhinged and morally black and main characters that are totally fcked up but perfect for each other. And the age gap with professor x student trope gets me good every single time because there is something so hot about a suited up professor with sexy glasses being a serial killer at night. He is also a criminal mastermind and master manipulator so be warned for his tricks because you will not see them coming. Ariella is everything I love in an fmc, she’s cunning, bold and very fiercely obsesses over Alistair. The plot was so shocking, and I couldn’t believe half of those plot twists. I loved or rather was horrified by the Synthetes and Dominion and the dark twisting plot had me hooked. This book was brilliant but if you’re looking for a fun redeemable dark romance, you will not find it here. Both Alistair and Ariella are downright crazy for each and have the most twisted minds. You have been warned so sit back and enjoy the hellish (in the best way possible) ride. I give this a 4/5

What a great conclusion to an awesome series!

I honestly don’t know what to say that could convey how awesome Tes Archer is. Her writing is awesome. She is so smart. I received Damsel in Disguise as an ARC, but I’ve been behind and didn’t get to it until the book had already been released on KU. So I downloaded that as well. This book was a smidge hard to follow at some spots because of the engineering jargon, but she’s brilliant, and even through all that, you still understand what is happening in those scenes. If I have any complaint at all, it’s that some wording felt a little repetitive and there were a few more editing errors than I usually see in her work. That does not take away from the story though, and if I had any questions about aspects of the story, Tes was amazing at answering. She is so great to her readers. This series as a whole is fantastic, but this one was probably my favorite of the trilogy. I just loved the banter and the mystery. There was so much to unpack. The book is a little over 500 pages and I hated to see it end. I can’t wait to see what Tes comes up with next.

ARC REVIEW 📚
DAMSEL IN DISGUISE BY TES ARCHER
🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

A book full of suspense and dark romance that can make any reader hooked from the beginning.

The story follows Ariella, a young teenager who gets obsessed with Alistair Hertley, a British professor at Oxford university specializing in electrical and electronic engineering.

Ariella moves to Oxford to get close to Alistair but little did she know that Alistair is not the person who everyone thinks he is. He carries his own secrets whereas Ariella unknowingly gets tangled with a secret society called Triarch Dominion who begin to target Ariella.

The book is complex diving to calculations and variables with the chemistry of main leads.

Ariella delivers the strong FMC energy and cat woman vibe making the chemistry more intense whereas the revelations of past and unknown future creates tension and carries the plot of the story.

The book contains the elements of psychological manipulation, trauma, hidden identity, obsession and artificial human experimentation.

Overall, I enjoyed the story. It was intriguing and the character building was perfect.

Also, did I mention Ariella rides a bike!!!!🔥

This book started off slow for me. I struggled a bit from all the engineer jargon but once I got past a few chapters, I flew through this book and really enjoyed it.

Ariella comes from an elite family who owns CynoTech, a cyber tech company. She is completely obsessed with a British professor in engineering and moves to another country just to be closer to him, to watch him, to stalk him. But what she doesn’t realize is, he is watching her as well.

Hidden experiments and buried secrets are revealed. A lot of twists I definitely did not see coming. Aside from her obsession, Ariella seems so innocent but really she’s just as twisted in the head as he is. Their chemistry really got me hooked.

The details made me feel like I was really there in the moment. I do plan to read this book again to fully understand the engineering part of it but overall, if you are looking for a psychological dark thriller and love dark romance, morally gray characters, obsessive love interests, age gap romances, secrets waiting to be uncovered, and a story that keeps you questioning who you can trust, this book is for you.

Wow.... what did i just read!?! Omg this book is insane. I loved it, though. This was my first
Tes Archer book. This book has secret society and mafia ties. A female stalker that is very badass and crazy. The MMC is a surprise. You think he is a certain way, then surprise, he isn't. It was a good change. There are machines with human skins..... think think of the alien movies with the synthetic david. There is smut and drama. This book almost has it all.
The first chapters just catch your attention, and you dont ever want to stop reading it. I read this book in one sitting. Absolutely loved it. Gave this book 5 stars.
There are some sexy smut scenes, and there are some....weird smut scenes... depending on how you feel about it, lol
The connection the Main Characters have is crazy because they are both crazy but its beautiful, and it fits amazingly in their story. From the very beginning, the FMC knew what she wanted, and she went out to get it on her own.
I was beyond happy with how the author ended the book. It was a great ending for both characters.
Will definitely recommend it to others.

Thank you so much to the author for my copy of this book in exchange for a review.

*4.5 stars

So I'm going to be honest... this book took me a minute to get into and I feel like it's because of my upbringing.... let me explain... I was taught not to chase boys so reading this FMC stalking the MMC made me want to jump out of my skin.... So I had to get over it and once I did. I really dug this book.

The secret society was SUPER intriguing and the technical banter between Ariella and Alistair was extremely sexy and interesting. I looked up a lot of words, but I LOVED it. So Fun!

Alistair was a crazy lovable psycho and I really enjoyed getting his point of view and realizing that oh yeah, he does have feelings. Also very fun.

The only thing I couldn't get into was the club scene... Phantom of the Opera playing at a club was a little too far fetched for me. I would love it, but I couldn't buy into it ever happening....

And then we also got to meet Ariella's brother and cousin. I fell in love with them too and will definitely be adding their books to my TBR as well.

Overall, such a fun read and can't wait to read more from this author.

This was a super interesting and creative story with a unique mix of spice, suspense, and science. The concept of the Synthete program and the world building around it really pulled me in, and I loved the first scene where we're introduced to everything. It set such a fascinating tone and had me excited to keep reading. I enjoyed Ariella's obsession with Alistair and the way she couldn't stop thinking about him even after learning who he was. Their dynamic had great tension and the power play between them was hot. However, a few scenes felt a bit short and a little rough around the edges. The early parts (especially the engineering/educational sections) were super interesting and detailed, but then scenes would switch and feel a bit choppier or less polished. There were also a few timeline gaps and things that felt squished together. Some of the technical stuff went over my head, but I still appreciated the effort and enjoyed learning alongside Ariella. Overall, I did enjoy this, the story has a lot of potential!

Science and Seduction

I received an advanced copy, this book is one I think many could enjoy. The start of the book is what will truly set the precedent for you. There’s a lot of information about engineering and the synthene program. If you’re someone who enjoys a build up and actually learning about the science in a book instead of taking it at face value you will enjoy it. I think this is the part that will either make or break how you feel about the book. It takes awhile to get started but then we get the ball rolling. I enjoyed the fact that our stalker is the girl, it was nice to see it coming from the other gender after reading male stalker books before this. This book took me a bit to read, and I had to keep coming back to it which is why I have it 3 instead of 4 stars. Again, the premise is nice and it’s quite interesting so I think it’s worth giving it a shot for your preference.
