Mina March buys a crumbling Victorian farmhouse in the heart of rural Florida, determined to turn it into a bed-and-breakfast; though for now, she's living in the carriage house out back and learning how to rebuild her life one board, one beam, one breath at a time.
The house is falling apart, but under the thick summer heat and the overgrown orange trees, Mina starts to discover the person she’s never been allowed to be. Then Westley, the soft-spoken local shows up with tools and time but never pressure. And there’s Luca, a charming realtor who offers her an old pattern disguised as something new. One sees her clearly; the other wants to possess her. Mina must decide what kind of life she’s building and who gets to share it.
With tender prose and southern sunlight in every line, The Orange Blossom Inn is a slow-burn novel about healing, found family, and the quiet courage it takes to choose yourself.
★★★★☆ This was the kind of slowwww burn that makes you ache in the best possible way. Not frustrating or cookie cutter—just beautifully, deliberately paced. Every glance, every almost-touch, every loaded conversation felt earned. By the time things finally shifted, I was completely invested.
And the house. Oh my goodness, the house. The cozy old country fixer-upper wasn’t just a setting—it was a full-blown character. The inhales and exhales, stubborn windows, and sun-warmed kitchen all held so much presence. It felt alive, layered with history and possibility. Watching it come back to life alongside the characters was deeply satisfying. I could practically smell the fresh paint, lemon balm, and oranges.
Westley was such a breath of fresh air. Strong, steady, and—most importantly—consistent. No unnecessary drama, just quiet strength, emotional reliability, and actions that matched his words. The kind of character who shows up, every single time. That grounded energy made this slow burn even more perfect!
This story felt soft but not boring. Emotional but not chaotic. Romantic without losing its sense of place. As soon as I finished, I immediately found myself googling fixer-uppers near me and searching for the best orange blossom perfume because I wasn’t ready to leave that atmosphere behind.
Four stars because this is not my typical read and I’m picky!!BUT, this was a warm, lingering, comfort read that I’d absolutely recommend to anyone craving a tender, slow-build romance wrapped in the charm of an old Florida home.

A cozy, slow-burn story with beautiful southern vibes and strong themes of healing and fresh starts. I loved the farmhouse setting and overall atmosphere, but I wanted a deeper emotional connection with the characters—especially in the romance. Still a soft, comforting read. 🍊💛
