Ember Lee didn’t mean to disappear. But the Fae realm of Gypsum offers the one thing Trifecta never space to breathe. Here, she battles dragons. She grows stronger. And no one dares call her dangerous... yet.
When Nicu Coccia and Devi break through the realm’s barrier, they bring more than a way they bring obligation. The world Ember left behind is unraveling, and her absence may be the thread that started it all.
Shade, the leader she almost trusts, offers her purpose. Training. Control. A chance to become something more. But Ember doesn’t know what’s being asked of her until the choice is already in motion.
If she chooses wrong, she won't just lose her freedom. She will lose herself.

Wow. Ember’s journey got very complicated. After Devi’s and Nicu’s arrival, Shade got weird. I was constantly wondering what she was working towards. I think that she was trying to do something that was interfering with what was supposed to be. This was quite an emotional book. I loved it!
This story is getting good! Don't get me wrong, all the books were good, but we're finally at that point where, after years of being at the mercy of bad people who wanted to take advantage of her, Ember doesn't have to stand for it anymore. We've followed this girl through her journey of being the punching bag of an entire town and three different races because, apparently, everyone is a selfish idiot in Trifecta. Even the good guys were not really or consistently helpful. I wouldn't have minded Ember blowing up the entire town, to be honest. Instead, she powers through a training session from hell with the help of some amazing new characters. Things might not look exactly brighter, but definitely more balanced in her favor. Did we get the most brutal ending in the entire series so far?
