Characters is a poetry collection of "poetic stories" about people; imaginary people, perhaps, but people nonetheless. It seeks to uncover the mysteries behind human conflict and drama, but also seeks to uncover what makes us human and what motivates us. The book seeks to have "character," and to, through poetry, show what it means to be a character on the grand stage of the world. While there is no easy answer to how to perform in this play we are all in, one will find through these pages that one can only do their best ... and sometimes, that is enough to respect your fellow men and women with as much compassion as possible.
Interesting use of poems to explore these characters. I kept pondering if the concepts built the characters or the other way around. That’s probably unimportant, but it shows that these pieces got me thinking.
