Ice queen attorney. Queer sex-talk podcast client. One spicy office hookup… what could possibly go wrong?
Mia Bennett can talk thousands of lesbians through their next spicy moment without blushing, but hand her a real shot at intimacy and she bolts faster than a lesbian renting a U-Haul. Her viral queer sex-talk show is exploding, sponsors are circling, and she swears she’s perfectly happy never catching feelings. All she needs is an attorney to protect her empire from a predatory contract… not a woman who makes her want to prove her mouth is good for more than talking.
Helena Moretti has built her name dismantling broken marriages. Ruthless and unshakeable, she lives by two never mix business with pleasure, and never fall for charm. So why is she secretly addicted to Mia’s show, and why does one reckless client meeting in her Manhattan office feel dangerously seductive?
When late-night contract negotiations turn into champagne, and then to the most unforgettable office hookup of their lives, both women cross a line they can’t uncross. By the time the heated tryst is over, pride, fear, and old scars have them ghosting instead of reaching for each other, and the fallout will echo for years.
This steamy sapphic romance begins with one spicy office tryst and sets the stage for Mia and Helena’s second-chance Valentine’s Day romance six years later… if they’re brave enough to risk the rematch.
Mia is a new talk show host and TikTok content creator, but with a difference. She talks enthusiastically, openly, and candidly about lesbian sex - how to flirt, how to get better at communicating, how to get her in bed, and how to make her have the best orgasms possible. Mia is very body positive, and is all about exhilarating, inclusive and consenting sex. Because she pushes the boundaries, she is seen as foul mouthed and dirty talking, but she does it in such an elegant, uplifting and supportive manner. Helena is an attorney, specialising in family law and divorce. After a disastrous marriage she keeps herself tightly under control, being all business and no pleasure. In her company she is known to be an ice queen, but her best friends Jodie and Brent know her vulnerabilities and her deep fear of any emotional connection. When Mia gets offered a contract for her show, her friend suggests she needs to consult a lawyer to avoid getting screwed over. When Mia and Helena meet for her consultation, the attraction is immediate. But their one night together goes sour, and Helena hands Mia’s account off to one of her colleagues.
The story jumps forward six years, and now Mia is a very established voice for women, being known in many countries. But she always remembers Helena, even though she has had no contact. She gets offered a new series of six shows with Taylor Brooks, pairing a selection of speciality whiskeys with a different talk show subject, each whiskey specially distilled by Taylor for the event. And the legal representation for the events is Helena.
Mia and Helena’s lovemaking on Valentine’s Eve midnight was exquisite. It was so hot in one moment, and then emotionally charged the next. The final show of the series takes place on Valentine’s Day, and I love the influx of wonderful women I remember with affection from other stories of Lauren’s. It’s so much fun when many of the separate worlds that Lauren has created come together like this. I have a few sapphic authors that are my absolute favourites, and Lauren Hart is securely among them.
The pairing between Mia and Helena seems to be very strange - the dirty mouthed talk show host and the divorce attorney. However, once they are securely together you can see the similarities: they both go to war for women. Mia fights for women to have their own sexual happiness, control over their own bodies and orgasms, and the confidence to be enthusiastic in their consent. Helena advocates for women to get what is rightfully theirs if everything goes wrong - material and financial possessions, family ties and children, and the return of their self respect.
I have said this for previous books, but it bears repeating. Every book that Lauren Hart writes is a little better than the last. Her descriptive voice gets ever stronger. Her characters have more ‘life’ in them. How long can she can keep that up? I hope a long time.
I absolutely adore Mia and I am so glad she got her own story. She really does some great work for women. Helena has experienced the chaos that is Mia and she can’t forget her. The two of them open up and show their softer sides for a real chance at forever. The story is beautifully written with laughs and empowering words that are so needed in our lives. Thank you Lauren
Fun, steamy sapphic valentine’s story! I loved all the cameos! I loved Mia in At the Doctor’s Mercy and was thrilled to read her story! She is sassy and authentic and exciting. She uplifts women and owns her sexuality while teaching others to do the same. The sparks that went off when Mia met Helena flew right off the page! I enjoyed their journey and I think you will too! Recommend!
I was hooked immediately and loved Mia and Helena’s slow but hot romance. This is a unique story that is also a learning experience for all lesbians. It should be mandatory reading if there was such a thing.
Love this age gap, ice queen Sapphic romance! It has a young sassy social influencer who is bold and witty and an uptight older lawyer who is suffering from the shadow of her divorce. Even though they met six years ago and had incredible chemistry, they didn't really connect until now. The story is inspiring, it is never too late for love. The writing is great and there is very little angst, both women are likable and sweet. A great way of losing yourself for a few hours!
The perfect Valentine’s Day book to warm the cold nights. I have been waiting for Mia’s book and I was not disappointed. Mia is sassy and says what is on her mind, and Helena has her work cut out trying to resist her. I love that Lauren included characters from the Lake Love Series. If you read any Valentines books, this should be the one, you won't be sorry. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Mia talks dirty and Lauren writes dirty. This book is hot. 🔥 The MC’s scorch the pages as they meet up again 6 years after a hook up. One is an uptight icy solicitor and the other is a free and easy clit champion.
There were some familiar faces and lots of wonderfully funny and snarky one liners.
Definitely a good one!

I've been hoping for Mia's story ever since I met her in At the Doctor's Mercy. I'm glad her story is the first I review this year as it met all my expectations. Mia and Helena are perfect for each other. I enjoyed seeing their relationship develop naturally from an unforgettable office encouter to a real relationship years later. Both were well developed along with the additional secondary characters introduced. Catching up with characters from some of Lauren's other works was also a treat. This is a fantastic second chance, ice queen, age gap sapphic romance.

From the first sentence in the book, you'll know that Lauren Hart has delivered another hot one! Mia does talk dirty, but it's not what you think - she's truly performing a public service for lesbians everywhere, and their relationships. Well, maybe not relationships, because Mia doesn't do those, and she preaches a freewheeling style. Then Helena, the gorgeous, sexy attorney who is also committed to singledom. Mia engages Helena to help protect her podcast, her brand, from a business proposal that will gobble her up and spit her out. A successful contract negotiation leads to a late-night "celebration" in Helena's office - one that crossed professional boundaries. And then it was six years before Mia would see Helena again. That's when Taylor Brooks producer of bespoke whiskeys and owner of boutique Velvet Cask proposes a sexy Valentine's series - Mia Talks Dirty at Velvet Cask. All's great with the idea, until Mia meets with Taylor's attorney - Helena. Shocked as she is, Mia agrees to the promotion, suggesting hot topics - like "Solo Pleasure and Toys", "Queer Kinks 101", "From Roses to Ruined Sheets", etc., etc.! As the collaboration proceeds, Mia and Helena face the tangle of resolving why six years passed with no contact, after that first night of fireworks. Both ladies continue to insist they're not interested in a relationship, both self-talking "you will not fall for her twice", even as their protective walls crumble. The Valentine holiday podcast series is very hot, very successful. And the (not a) relationship between Mia and Helena is getting hotter and harder to deny ... "Mia Talks Dirty" joins the collection of hits from Lauren Hart. The characters are engaging, the banter is fun, and the story is just what you'd hope for from Hart - captivating, and thoroughly entertaining! I enjoyed an ARC of "Mia Talks Dirty", and this is my honest review.
If your looking for a valentines read with a lot of spice and straight forward talking, look no further. Mia will deliver and she does in spades. With her podcast and workshop audiences growing much bigger than she expected, Mia needs a good lawyer to protect her rights. Helena is a shark in heels. The chemistry is instant when they meet and the scene is set for a hot office encounter. But Helena doesn't mix business with pleasure and after completing the contract negotiations hands Mia's business to another lawyer. Six long years pass before the two women meet again for a series of events that reunite us with Taylor and Vanessa from Cupids Barrell and other cast members from Laurens stories.
Lauren Hart has graced us with this light fun read! Mia is a wonderful character, an influencer, radio and social media star who is best known for her colorful sex talks for Lesbians. She is irreverent but impeccably honest. Her story starts her in Florida and ends up in NYC. She is rather outrageous in her shows. The story moves along fairly rapidly which sets up the love story between the ice queen and the influencer. The erotic nature of her shows leads her and her audiences to a series of shows that are matched up in a new whiskey bar for a six weeks with different topics, custom whisky flights. What a fun concept! I loved this story.
This beautiful, hot and heavy story was the perfect beginning for another year of reading. Like in all of Lauren Hart’s books, the main characters might not be perfect but they’re perfect for each other. It takes them a while to realize that but eventually they wind up happy together.
Excellent fairytale in these hard times, a comfort read in true Lauren Hart fashion.
I thoroughly enjoyed Mia’s book. She is exactly who she is and doesn’t apologize for it which I loved. Helena has a past that makes her more cautious but is still completely amazing. These two together bring the comedy, and excitement I love so much. I also loved the little glimpses of characters from other books.
Omg wow what a phenomenal story, I love how Lauren Hart portraits her main characters their chemistry was hot but their difficulties were exceptionally written keeping you hooked from first page till last.., I couldn't put it down. It's definitely one of my favourite by far a must-read congratulations
I highly recommend this book for anyone who loves slow-burn, second-chance romances, intriguing characters, and well-developed storylines. This book will keep you turning the pages while warming you up in the most delicious way. You also get a peek at some favorite characters from other books... what more could you want!
This was a decent read about an ice queen lawyer and a sapphic podcaster who have a one night stand while they are working together. Then they are reunited six years later in Manhattan. The second part of the book began to wear a little thin with the “will they or won’t they” resume any sort of relationship. The book wasn’t as spicy as the title suggests.
This book absolutely sucked me right in. This was hands down phenomenal writing. It's an easy read. It's catchy, funny, and has some great heartfelt moments. I'm glad this came across my books you may like. I look forward to deep diving into the rest of Lauren's books
