Interesting concept but the story dragged for me and took me forever to get through. That’s probably just me, though, as I enjoyed the idea of time travel but struggled to connect with any of the characters. There was some repetition but overall, the story was fascinating and would be great for fans of science fiction.

This was a fast paced time travel book with some other elements added into it- didn’t take me long to fly through it at all! You’ll find some humor, some sarcasm, and definitely some relatable characters to follow along through the book! To top it off I am obsessed with books that have shorter chapters and this one had that!

Received this as an ARC. I read the entire book in 24 hours. I really enjoyed it, and I would recommend it to anyone who likes fast-paced paranormal thrillers with high stakes, plot twists, and an intensely relatable main character whom you will love and root for throughout the entirety of the book. It was also surprisingly funny at times, mostly due to the main character’s dry, dark, and yet somehow adorable, sense of humor.
Indy felt incredibly real to me. She was deeply wounded and traumatized by her past, and I loved that she was proactive about getting help for it over the years. Throughout the book, we revisit some of the many methods that she's used to address that trauma and pain in the past, and they tie in very nicely with the metaphysical/spiritual aspect of the plot. She’s also incredibly smart, strong, compassionate, stubborn, determined, an excellent role model… she’s basically a superhero and I love her.
The only reason I didn't give this book five stars was because it is categorized as a romance, and the romance did not feel like the central focus of the story to me. Also, the sex scenes felt short, awkward, and unrealistic. But that didn’t actually bother me as much as it normally would have, because by the time I got to that point in the story, I was so invested in the plot itself that I didn’t really care about phrasing, terminology, or atmosphere.
The metaphysical aspect of the story was incredibly fascinating, and I was deeply invested in seeing how it played out.
Also, the villain is terrifying; whenever he shows up in a scene, it feels akin to seeing a spider crawling across your ceiling - everything is fine and everyone is totally chill, for now, but if that thing gets any closer to me, things are going to get a lot less chill really fucking fast. And that feeling is made worse by the fact that, for the majority of the book, we don't actually know what's driving him.
I think the mark of a well-written antagonist is the ability to understand, on some level, where they’re coming from. And Moreno accomplished that with this one, a feat which is even more impressive when you consider the fact that
Also, I will protect Snowball with my life.

My Thoughts:
This book captures that strange moment in life when time suddenly feels like an illusion, plans change, relationships evolve, and you’re left thinking, how did I get here? Jennifer Moreno writes with humor and with the heart, blending travel, personal growth, and real-life twists and turns part sci-fi thriller, part spiritual journey, part romantic drama - and it all works beautifully together. Indy is a flight attendant, until she is brought back to her past during a flight. Now she learns she has to stop one of her old high school rivals..while working with the other..In high school, Indy's life took a turn. Because of it, she got kicked out of her school, couldn't go to college to work in a field she wanted to, and became a flight attendant. Now she must confront her past, her rivals, and herself in order to save the world and time as she knows it. This book is full of family secrets, time travel, and realistic depiction of characters.

When Time Flies was a fun, easy, turn-the-pages kind of read. I love the title, really clever! I read this book as I was flying cross-country so it was very fitting. However, I must not have the gift Indy has.
The story flows quickly and smoothly, with short chapters that make it easy to keep going, I found myself saying, “just one more.” It doesn’t get bogged down in over-explaining, which I appreciated — the pacing stays light and keeps things moving.
Indy is a snarky, relatable main character with just the right amount of self-awareness and sarcasm. She’s imperfect, funny, and very human, which made her easy to root for. Her inner commentary adds a lot of charm, and the humor softens moments that could have felt heavier.
The supporting characters add warmth and balance — Trevor, the romantic interest, brings a steady, grounding presence that contrasts nicely with Indy’s chaos. There’s also a low-key but effective villain whose controlling, unsettling energy adds just enough tension to keep the plot moving without weighing the story down.
Even the more unusual elements are handled in a casual, offhand way that keeps the tone playful rather than overly mystical.
As a woman in my mid-50s who’s done plenty of spiritual work, I appreciated that this book didn’t take itself too seriously. It’s meant to entertain, and it does. I can easily see this appealing to twenty-somethings who enjoy snarky, fast-paced stories, as well as midlife readers who want a light, enjoyable escape without being preached to. I also agree with one of the earlier reviews. I wouldn't necessarily characterize this as a romance but it does have a chick lit vibe.

Thanks @netgalley , the publisher and the author Jennifer Moreno for sending me an arc file! 💖
🇬🇧 Since I read the plot of When time flies: WTF, it reminded me of “Back to the future” (film, 1985) and “Find me in Paris” (a teen tv series, 2018). During the reading, this book also reminded me of The Flash (tv series, 2014) and Red (film, 2022), all films and tv series that I liked and I was really curious and interested in reading it. 🧚🏻♀️
My expectations were very high and I hoped it was going to be a good read, but unfortunately, it wasn't. I don't enjoy writing negative reviews, but honesty has always been my motto, so here we are. 👀
The plot idea is very interesting, the time travel theme is very fascinating but this book ends up being disappointing. I could say that "the idea is there, but the actual plot with details, research and other stuff is missing". The book has a poorly crafted plot, there is a lack of metaphysical details (necessary for the time travel theme). This is just an example but there are so many lacks in this undeveloped plot. There is no logic in it, nor a plausible explanation for what happens during the time travel events. 🫧
With a hurried and repetitive writing, the plot is a mix of situations, events and details often in contrast to one another. Moreover, the writing seems so impersonal and mechanical and it doesn't evoke anything in the reader (at least, me). As a result, the characters also seem empty and lifeless.
Despite my experience, I hope other readers will be able to appreciate this book more than I did. 🌞
ps. if possible, i would put less than one star!

More Than a Time-Travel Story...If you enjoy stories that mix time travel, romance, emotion, and a little self-reflection, I think you'll enjoy this one.
One thing I've learned about fiction is that the story isn't always the lesson. Sometimes the greatest takeaway is what the story reveals about ourselves. That's the mindset I had while reading When 'WTF' Time Flies, and it made the experience much richer.
I went into this expecting an entertaining time-travel story. I finished it thinking about healing.
The premise pulled me in, but what stayed with me was everything underneath it. Indy isn't simply navigating extraordinary circumstances...she's wrestling with the weight of the past, the choices that define us, and the version of ourselves we become because of them.
One thought kept coming back to me while I was reading: The past doesn't disappear just because we move forward.
That idea quietly runs through the story and gave me much more to think about than I expected.
This book also made me wonder how many versions of ourselves we carry throughout life. If we were given the opportunity to rewrite one chapter, would we? And more importantly... would it truly change who we are?
I ended up tabbing several pages because certain moments made me stop and think. Those are always my favorite reads...the ones that stay with me after I close the cover instead of ending when I turn the last page.
ENJOY!!!

This book got me hooked immediately. It drops you into the polished, high-control world of private aviation while the author’s inner world is completely unraveling, and that distinction is honestly brilliant.
It feels like you are sitting down with a friend who’s lived a lot, traveled far, and learned how to laugh through the chaos of life. This book captures that strange moment in life when time suddenly feels like an illusion, plans change, relationships evolve, and you’re left thinking, how did I get here? Jennifer Moreno writes with humor and with the heart, blending travel, personal growth, and real-life twists and turns ( I certainly can relate). There's no pretending to have it all figured out and learning to trust yourself as life keeps shifting. This book is about time, yes but also about resilience, self awareness and finding your footing while life keeps moving. I loved how embodied this story is, you feel it throughout the pages, you're not just reading words on a page. It feels raw! I loved it, it made be reflect on my own life and of course the question came up again - what is time!
Jennifer keeps it real, funny, empowering and humble. Go on the adventure, you'll love it!

When Time Flies (WTF!) by Jennifer Moreno
When Time Flies, (WTF!) is a meticulously crafted time traveling puzzle with enough mystery, twists, turns and shocking surprises to keep you fully engaged throughout the entire book.
When you want to completely lose yourself in a fantastic story (and who doesn’t) this is the book for you.
The main character is very nuanced and complex and yet seems oddly relatable and familiar at the same time. The story uses time traveling (time slips) which feels both unbelievable and realistic. When I started to read the book, I was so engaged that I could not put it down.
The author expertly weaves together a complex metaphysical world into the main character’s past and present and turns it into cohesive and well presented story.
When Time Flies (WTF!) is the perfect escape and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who loves to read to experience another world.
Fasten your seatbelts, you’re about to embark on a really incredible journey!

When Time Flies: WTF! is a fun, fast-paced blend of time travel, romance, and self-discovery that kept me turning pages. The story follows Indy Kash, a corporate flight attendant whose glamorous job hides a past she’s fought to forget—until a mystery time-slip throws her back into the moment that changed everything. Suddenly she’s confronting old wounds, a familiar enemy, and unexpected love, all while trying to rewrite her future and maybe even save the world.
Moreno balances humor and heart so the emotional beats land without getting heavy, and the time-travel twists keep the stakes exciting. If you like character-driven stories with a dose of sci-fi whimsy and real-world feels, this was a blast!!

This book is a wonderful mix of vivid, descriptive scenes, metaphysical themes, flight, and mystery, brought to life with light humor and a few well-placed plot twists. Moving smoothly through time and space, it has the same page-turning pull I associate with one of my favorite thrillers, The Flight Attendant, while still feeling original and distinct. I found myself strongly identifying with the main character’s experiences, both the admirable and the flawed, which made me feel personally drawn into the story. Memorable, thoughtful phrases, subtly reminiscent of Ursula K. Le Guin, appear throughout, and I ended up reading the book in one sitting because I simply could not put it down. I recommend this little gem without hesitation.

When you pick up When Time Flies, it really will.
This fast-paced, time-travel novel follows Indy, a corporate flight attendant pulled into a world of twists, turns, and high-stakes consequences. As she’s forced to confront her past—and a former high school nemesis—Indy must learn how to heal herself while trying to save the world. Along the way, she discovers that trust can come from the most unexpected places, including within herself.
A smart, fun sci-fi beach read that keeps you turning pages—you won’t want to miss it.

I found this work of art to be a suspenseful adventure of dark versus light. The main character being a raw, wounded woman turned warrior as the story unfolded. She was relatable, as someone who was haunted by her past, utilizing the tools that she held, while open to embracing the unknown. A courageous underdog, fueled by determination. With its many plot twists and turns, it was a page-turner. I was so engrossed in this novel that time did fly!

I really wanted to like this book, but it wasn't what I was really expecting. I thought it was going to be a little bit more fun. In some parts of the book the author goes into detail, and other parts something that could've been tons of paragraphs, was 1. TBH, I think the title of the book is what really drew me in, especially with the WTF.

When Time Flies: WTF! is a great time travel read! Fresh and full sensory, had a hard time putting it down. Jennifer Moreno braids the time travel beautifully and with the main character Indy Kash's flare, wit & warrior attitude I was happily glued to her side throughout, engaged, present and hanging on to my seat for this fast paced and healing adventure. Hoping there will be a sequel.

Fun fun fun!! Speedy read with cool characters. Really loved Indy’s wit and humor. It’s a combo of light women’s fiction meets sci-fi meets sexy relationship vibes. I also enjoyed the strong WOC energy, especially the adorable Kai… and, of course, Snowball (tho she’s a cat). Hopefully there’s more to come from this author!

Oh my goodness this story was epic!!! I honestly wasn't expecting that many twists, but it definitely kept me on my toes. My best friend and I recently read it as our bookclub pick and everytime we talked about it, we couldn't stop expressing how crazy the story was! I mean you have time-traveling, an fmc who is so relatable and loveable, some incredible side characters, and the most entertaining writing🫶✨️ And tbh the acronym of the title is perfect! Because honestly wtf happened in this story🤣🤣😝

This is one of those books that once you start reading it you can’t put it down. The story is captivating. It’s equal parts a romance, sci-fi, and adventure story. The prose is breezy and lyrical. I adored Indy Kash and absolutely loved the book.

Aptly named WTF, haha! This book jumped around so fast. Maybe it was symbolizing the jumpiness of time traveling? I wish there were fewer characters and more development. Interesting plotline, but definitely a lot of holes. I liked that it was an easy read for a vacation.
