Loved this sweet Christmas story. Emilee has gone back home in Hope Creek. But feels she has been tricked into doing a theater performance . Her aunt didn't tell her it would include a ex boyfriend. But Dahlia needed his help after the one who was to do it was ill. Will there be a Christmas miracle here?
Loved this novella. The characters are well written.

As I have a hard time cooking being infirm, this book is a great help to me, to have as few things as possible to do at dinner is a godsend. That and having a slow cooker or having a maid!!!

Meant as advertising by contributors

Please don't eat this food!
Most recipes don't really use 5 ingredients or less. A can of tomato soup has 12 to 15 ingredients, depending upon the brand. The entire 5-ingredient rule is to eat simpler foods, not GMO-filled, salt-laden, addictive-chemical-containing convenience foods. Good heavens! It's like all those horrifying, greasy, processed casseroles from the 1950s and 60s came to life and killed us all with strokes & hardened arteries.
There was ONE recipe that could be made one into something good, the "cracked potatoes ". If you mix dried or fresh herbs in with greek yogurt and use in place of the ranch, you might get something approaching healthy and 5- ingredient (if you go easy on the butter! Lol I know, it tastes good, but everything in moderation). This free pamphlet is not worth the space it takes up in my kindle device.

Recipe books ≠ how to use premade food

I thought this was off to a great start, but further in, I ran into recipes using premade items. If I'm gonna look to a cookbook for a cake recipe, WHY would I buy cake mix from the store? And what even is Russian dressing? Salad dressing differs across the world. In Slovakia, Italian dressing looks more like ranch or Caesar than that of the one in the US. I mean, I understand the convenience, but don't title a cookbook about how to remix premade food products a "5-ingredient" cookbook. 🙄

Recipes from the 60s?

It should’ve been obvious to me that dishes created with five ingredients would be going to use cans and jars of prepared food as the ingredients(other than the meat). The recipes that looked good were going to have about two-day's-worth of calories in a serving. Some might be worth making in spite of that, and a couple recipes looked totally delicious. It just wasn't the book I thought it was going to be!

I won't say any of these are particularly new recipes, but it is a nice, short collection of meals for people who don't want to bother with tons of ingredients and like to keep things simple. The dishes are all mostly acidic, and a lot of the casseroles would need like a side salad. The last few recipes are all desserts, and I don't commonly eat sweets with my dinner, so the last part of the book I wouldn't even use. But still a nice, short, recipe book.

Yum!

This recipe book has many good recipes for those who have little time to cook. Yes, it does use canned and boxed items. Still, for the average person, that will be fine. Many of these will be good for potluck meals and I plan to try them when we're allowed to congregate again.

This is full of recipes made using convenience food like tins of soup, jars of dressing. While easy - pour mushroom soup over pork chop add cheese and bake, it’s hardly real food nor nutritional. It’s very much an American book, we don’t cook like that in australia and if we do, we don’t pretend it’s a real recipe.

Was alright.

It was okay. It’s a cookbook. Not a big deal. Really a quick read, some nice recipes. Pretty much have most of this kind of stuff on hand if your pantry is fully stocked.

I don't cook very often, and when I do I don't want to make a religious ritual out of it. For me, a can of tomato soup is one ingredient. If it's good enough for Rachel Ray, it's good enough for me. This cookbook is for people like me. If you fancy yourself a Michelin chef, it's not your thing.

Ease

There are several recipes to choose from in this recipe book. It's simplistic and I would think easy for young or inexperienced cooks to follow.

Wish there were healthier recipes this book. Seems like most of it is meant for college kids or teens.
