After his wife's death following a long illness, Travis Bowie's troubles are just beginning. Suspended by the Sheriff's Office for excessive use of force, he decides to take the time off to visit his grandmother in a small rural town in North Louisiana. What starts as a pilgrimage to re-connect with family and scenes from his childhood becomes instead a lethal mix of threats from several directions.
