Eric Keller writes stories that live in the shadows between history and legend, between the world we know and the darkness lurking just beyond it.
His debut novel, The Bear Soldier, brings to life the extraordinary true story of Wojtek, the bear who served alongside Polish soldiers in World War II. It's a tale of loyalty, resilience, and the unlikely bonds forged in the crucible of war.
His latest release, Blood Spoken: The Unmaking, ventures into darker territory. A work of dark fantasy that explores the price of power and the weight of words that can never be taken back.
Eric is a Creative Writing major with a concentration in Fiction at Southern New Hampshire University and a member of Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society. When he's not writing, he's probably reading Stephen King, exploring the moral complexities of a Dean Koontz thriller, or revisiting Joseph Delaney's Spooks series for the hundredth time.
He lives in Kansas with his wife April and their kids, surrounded by books and fueled by an unhealthy amount of coffee.
Whether he's unearthing forgotten corners of history or building worlds where shadows have teeth, Eric writes for the readers who like their stories with a little grit, a lot of heart, and just enough darkness to keep the lights on at night.
This book was captivating from page one. The plot hit the ground running. The world building was done in a way that helped steer the plot forward in a fluid manner. The characters even the “bad” ones were likable. I found myself rooting for each of their personal character growths. I had a hard time putting this book down as the plot was quick moving and I kept wanting to know what would happen next. This book is perfect for anyone who enjoys dark fantasy with morally grey characters with a weaponized magic system that takes place in a fighting arena. I would highly recommend this book to others and look forward to what the next one brings.
Wow. This is like nothing I’ve ever read. It was really original. The voicesong was a really cool idea. And it worked well with being written into a book. I loved the world building and the characters. It was written in a way that was easy to understand. Sometimes books of this nature confuse me and I have a hard time keeping up. But this one flowed really well. It was captivating and I really enjoyed reading it.
Such a surprising and good book. Eliana is a great FMC and shows determination and grit. Always pushing forward and being there for her loved ones. I recommend putting this on your TBR asap. Especially since the next book is coming out soon.
Great story with world and characters development. Gladiator meets magic. trials and new found family. ancient magic and beings. uprise on the horizon.
