Rate this book

Tammy Falkner lives on a farm in a lovely, sprawling little town in rural NC with her beekeeper husband and a house full of boys, a few dogs, and a cat or two (or five – who has time to count?). As half of the Lydia Dare team, she has co-written ten books, including the Westfield Wolves series and the Gentlemen Vampyre series. A huge fan of Regency England, she often wonders what other kinds of magical, mythical and strange creatures might live and interact within the ton. Exploring the theory that the fae can walk between Regency England and their own land, Tammy spends as much time as possible with the lords and ladies of society, horse-drawn carriages, and elegant balls. Now add to that some faeries, a little murder, a bit of mayhem, and a troublesome garden gnome, and you have her exciting new series. She hopes you enjoys her world as much as she does.

OH, it's a cheese fest!! But, sometimes cheese is just so good that you have to have it. Hot, melty, ooey gooey goodness. And, totally satisfying.

And much like Mr. Grater there, I smiled the whole book.

There is your insta-love. Your insta-family. Insta-deep issues resolved. Insta-miracle. And, insta-marriage.

I have to say: being a modern human in America: All of this insta-stuff really worked for me. It's like my old grandpappy always told me, "honey, if it doesn't come quickly and easily, it's not worth the trouble." Man, he was wise. It was such a sad day when he got hit by that bus because he was tired of waiting for the light to turn green. Oh well. That's life for ya.

Anyway. This book was about Matt, who had some non-specific cancer that miraculously went into remission but may or may not have left him sterile. We've known Matt since the first book when he was dying, and of course we have loved him ever since. We always love the brave souls fighting some sort of cancer that will never be named because we may actually know about the cancer and see some sort of problem there. That would take hours of research on the writer's part. And, going back to grandpappy - why bother? Might as well just use the cancer umbrella. Nobody can question that.

Matt meets Skylar, who is the sister of one of Matt's cancer friends. A sister who died because she's not the main character of a book that we have grown to love. Plus, Matt may or may not be sterile, so sis needs to kick it in order to give her younger, healthy, prettier sister three kids without stretching out her vagina so Matt can get his family and the girl who is way better than the sick cancer-girl with a few miles on her body. And, hey, we have no problem with this (yes, I've decided to stick with using the pronoun "we" in referring to myself. It's classy. Like the queen or something.) Having personally shoved a few babies out of our own body, we know that it ain't so pretty or shiny anymore. Matt deserves not to have to shop at the "previously owned" section of the lot. He had cancer, dammit!

Luckily, they fall in love immediately because they are both pretty and blonde. And, life is perfect, as it should be for the pretty and blonde. The end.

4.5 Stars!! Somewhat predictable, but I still enjoyed myself very, very much!

Are you in love with me yet? ~ Matt
Hell yeah I love you Matt…and Paul and Logan and Pete and Sam!! The Reed brothers have a direct line to my heart and reading about them brings me to my happy place!!

Even though I could see the writing on the wall with the plot and it’s pretty evident early on how things will play out, it still made me happy. I love reading about these brothers, I don’t need an exciting storyline to keep me engaged. It was a little sugary sweet, and it did jump around somewhat, but no matter, the Reed brothers can do no wrong…not in my eyes, and Matt deserved every bit of happiness he got. They are all so easy to love, because they love so easily, and that was makes the Reed brothers charming and this series so engaging!

As much as I enjoy reading about all the characters in this series, I love when it’s just the brothers and they’re bantering back and forth among themselves. They can be very crude, but never nasty, and rather than being offensive, it’s funny and hot!!! The Reed brothers love their women to distraction and they love hard! They also have no qualms about pouring their feelings out to each other and doling out advice…they are a tight family, have each other’s backs, and what benefits one, benefits them all, because their lives are so closely intermingled. They have no problems whatsoever showing their affection, be it for each other or the women they love, or the people they bring into their ever-growing circle of family and friends.

In this book I fell in love with a 16 year old named Seth, he’s not a Reed brother, but he’s part of the family now. I sincerely hope that someday Seth will get a book of his own. Even though he’s not a blood relative, he embodies the spirit, the strength and the love that defines the Reed brothers, and I would love nothing more than to follow his journey into manhood. Do you hear me Tammy Falkner??

This was a heartwarming story, with the BESTEST happily-ever-after, it nearly brought me to tears even though I knew it was coming! I can’t recommend this series enough; I wish I could crawl inside these books and join the fun. Two brothers left and it looks like Paul might be next and “It’s Friday and he’s in love”!!

4--Cheese-tastic--Stars!

Well that was one big ‘ole mush fest!

Those Reed brothers are something else. They love their women hard and they love them good. They make the perfect book boyfriends.

Yes, Matt was a bit OTT.

Yes, he fell in love with Skylar SUPER DUPER fast.

But you know what, I’m going to give Matt a free pass ….after all he DID beat cancer.

And he was so darn sweet!

I’m pretty sure I was swooning the whole damn book!

Like the others in the series, this one was super low angst and focused on Skylar’s new role as mom to her three nieces and nephews.

Great addition to the series…I loved getting to see the rest of the gang and I can’t wait to read Paul and Sam’s books!!

Sky becomes an instant mother when her half sister died of cancer and left behind 3 kids. How does Matt fit in their family?

I love this series. I love all the brothers, especially the banter with the brothers. BUT... the relationship with Matt and Sky was like on fast forward. I love Matt but he was so so cheesy. Did I love him anyway? Why yes of course!! This was probably my least favourite book so far but I cant help but love these tattoo hotties.

I thought this would be more angsty than other books. But it was just like the rest of the series: Short, Sexy and Sweet.

3 Super Sweet Stars

Matt Reed has been through hell and back…after his cancer diagnosis his girlfriend cheats on him with his best friend, and he has to fight for his life without the girl he thought he would spend his forever with.

Now Matt’s cancer has been in remission for two years, and he is ready to move on from April when he meets Skylar. Her half sister just died, leaving her the legal guardian of three children.

Skylar and Matt have an instant connection, and I think it’s safe to say there is some insta-love. By safe…I mean it was declared almost instantly.

Now I could make an excuse and say he has just faced death, so of course he is living life to the fullest.

With that said, Matt still has some of cheesiest lines.

On a positive note...

It is a quick read, predictable, and fun. I read this on a full plane, and it helped pass the time. I love the Reed brothers, and enjoyed Matt’s book, just not as much as I have enjoyed the others. We did get a sneak peek into Paul and Friday’s story and I can’t wait to read it.

I loved this SO MUCH Matthew Reed is my favourite of the Reed brothers and I fell in love with his story.

It is pure sugar, sweet and romantic Matt and Sky together are so cute. What I love about this series is the bond the brothers have they are so close and the way they accept the ladies in their lives, I love the playful fighting and banter.

I felt sorry for Sky with her parents but she took to motherhood easily Seth is lovable.

Glad Matt had his HEA after everything he went through, the letter he wrote to April made me LOL.

Can't wait for Paul and Friday's story next.

Maybe Matt's Miracle by Tammy Falkner
Series: The Reed Brothers
Book #: 4
Characters: Matt & Skylar

We have gotten to know Matt Reed through the previous stories, Reed Brother with a heart of gold and cancer survivor. We got to see him at his worst, ready to let go of life and unsure of exactly how much time he had left. But Matt never felt sorry for himself. It was all about living each day like it was his last. When Emily’s gift gives him a new lease on life, Matt is ready to experience life and all that comes with it. Even if that means three kids that aren’t his.

Skylar had everything, but love. But that is all about to change when she is given custody of her half-sister’s three kids after her passing. A new family to love, a family she had never met before it was time for them to say goodbye to their mother. The situation is hard, unfamiliar and scary, but one thing isn’t... moving past a boyfriend who isn’t willing to give his love to these three kids.

With Matt’s cancer and subsequent treatment, he knows the chances of having a family of his own is slim. But as he feels the starting sparks with Skylar he falls in love with her kids. Kid that might not ever be his in blood, but kids he wants to make his in name.

So I was already in love with the idea of Matt’s story, so tossing in his love for these kids? I was a goner a few pages in. I loved the dynamic of the Reed boys when it came to Matt. They loved him so much but they also cherished him, knowing that he could have been taken from them, they knew what a gift his life was.

Skylar was this successful woman who was so broken when it came to matters of the heart. Without any point of reference, love was something new to her. Having faith in someone else, trusting them and knowing you’re going to get in return exactly what you give... well that’s not something she’s ever experienced. But Matt is about to change that. Big time.

I adore this series and with Sam & Paul’s stories still left to be told, I am already ready to start the next one. I can’t recommend this series enough. It is so full of great moments that just warm your heart, still giving you steamy scenes and sexy heroes without creating too much drama to lose focus on the story.

If you are looking for a series that is going to hold your attention and keep you wanting more, check this one out!

4.5 Are you in Love With Me Yet? Stars * * * * 1/2

I am binging on the Reed Brothers... yes, there must be a 12 step program somewhere... but I am not ready yet to join. This series has a special charm all its own and I am awash in the joy of it.

Matt is a cancer survivor... he is a warrior and came very close ...way too close to having his life end. Through the past stories, we experienced his journey and feel close to him for it. He is the second eldest of 5 brothers... and helped raise the younger ones with Paul. He was strong but even keeled... he was consistent and able to help guide them... with memories of a mother who taught her sons what it meant to be a man... a man worthy of loving a woman.

We meet Skylar... her experience in life is the opposite in the way she was raise...Although she had all of the material things and benefits... she was part of a family which left her to be raised by the "help". Her parents were terrible role models... the dad cheated and the mother withdrew... Skylar never learned to trust she would be loved or worthy of it... she was smart, educated and had her career...but when it came to love...she never would open herself up to it.

These two come together due to three children... beautiful children that just happen to be nieces and a nephew she knew nothing about...her father's other family. The mother, Kendra her half sister, was one of the patients in the cancer trial Matt was in. His treatment was successful; hers was not due to her waiting too long to start. Matt and Kendra became friends and when it was her final day... Matt was there at the hospital when Skylar came to collect the children... it was their first meeting...The funeral was where Matt was the most helpful just by letting her know she wasn't alone... the simple gesture of reaching out and holding her hand was enough... these two were connecting and something meaningful was happening...

This story had so many layers... it addresses biracial heritage and the prejudiced of people still not able to understand all people are the same...It covers the importance of the "little things" in how a man can be respectful and caring... how these things should never be lost and always practiced. The impact on unfaithfulness; how it skews the people who experience the aftermath of it...trust issues and insecurity.

But the continuing themes in these stories is the love of family... the willingness to step up and be in the moment... to love freely and true. There is always communication...whether to own up to mistakes or handle questions directly...no one runs away from the real issues for long in these books and I love that.

Oh and I would be remiss in not mentioning how friggin' hot these Reed men are... no I mean smokin'... tatted and pierced...and not just their ears... if you know what I mean....

So, Lucky me... there are more parts to this series... and I do not have to wait to enjoy them... like a good little addict of the Reed Brother... I am going to find my next fix...

Dear Ms. Falkner,

Thank you for writing the Reed Brother's just for me. I'm happy that other readers get to enjoy them also but they are mine. Mine. Mine. Mine! :)

Sincerely,
The BookChick
LOL. I had to write that piece of gratitude to Ms. Tammy. Maybe Matt's Miracle was probably my most favorite book in the Reed Brother's, and that's no small feat because I loved all the books. Matt and Sky were abso-frickin-lutely perfect together. Their passion for one another and their love for the children in spite of the adversity was so sweet and so admirable. I loved the entire pace of the story and the characters -- including all the secondary characters. I cannot wait to see what Faulkner does with Friday and Paul. That one should be potent. And the ending to this *sob*...break out your Kleenex. You're gonna need them!

Syrupy sweet, cheesy as hell, awkward alphas, imminently predictable... but I still enjoyed it. However, I'm kind of really pissed off about Paul's story and how it's apparently taking a very different turn from what we all expected. Kind of weird for the author to "go there" when all readers were pretty convinced (and excited) that Paul's HEA was going to be a second chance HEA.

5 I LOVE MATT STARS

I love the REED Brothers. Makes me want to have five boys, okay maybe not five, but I want a few.

Summary

Matt just survived cancer, so YAY! Skylar is a lawyer and has daddy issues. She’s the aunt of three kids and their mother is Kendra, who died because of cancer. Kendra is good friends with Matt and Matt attends the funeral and kind of supports Skylar through this emotional time.

Overall

What I loved about Maybe Matt’s Miracle is the storyline. I love single mothers, I love Matt’s tragic past and I love all the issues that come in-between.

The chemistry between Matt and Skylar is quick and off the charts. I kind of loved how fast everything went, it kept me on my toes throughout the read.

Skylar doesn’t know anything about being a mom, but she’s doing the best she can and she doesn’t want to fail the kids. I love the kids as well, they weren’t your typical bratty kids you usually read in books and it just added a nice extra dynamic to the story. Matt can’t have kids because of all his treatments and he’s dealing with the hurt of his ex-girlfriend April who left him while he was sick.

Matt likes Skylar because he sees the good in her and just wants to help out when he can. Skylar is use to people leaving her, especially her father, so it’s hard for her to put her heart out there. She doesn’t want to get hurt, but somehow Matt’s presence just makes her feel good about herself.

I simply love this series and I love everything about the Reed brothers. I can’t wait for the next one!

4 “You in love with me yet?” stars

Matt Reed – middle of the fabulous Reed brothers – has had a piece of my heart since I read about him in book 1. He’s been through a life-threatening illness, and devastating betrayal and heartache, and he’s come out of it into a good place – content and happy, and with a family that he loves dearly.

Sky has recently had her world turned upside down. The death of an unknown half-sister leaves her with three children to raise. As a successful attorney with a boyfriend and a mediocre love life, Sky had no idea what she was in for when she agreed to take on a family. And then Matt walks into her life.

Matt and Sky met in the last book as Matt sat by the deathbed of a dear friend. He knows the children, and he feels drawn to Sky, so he is there for her as she dives headfirst into her new life. Of course there is a strong attraction between them, and it’s not long before the boyfriend is ditched, and these two are embarking on some epic flirting.

One of the things I love most about these books is knowing that there’s not going to be game playing or stupid, angsty back and forth between the couple. The Reed boys are very forward about their feelings, and Matt is no different!

“I’m going to make you fall in love with me”.

Yep, he’s right in there with no messing about, and once again, it’s awesome! The ‘wooing’ part of the storyline is full of teasing, laughs, some truly beautiful moments and some great UST and, as usual, they talk they are open and talk about everything.

“I don’t like wasting time because it’s one of the only things in life we can’t get more of. So, I know I’m moving really fast and I’m probably scaring the shit out of you, but that’s how I roll. I love hard when I love, and I hope you’re okay with that.”
I scoff. “Don’t tell me you’re in love with me when you just met me. I’d have to call you a liar.”
“No, I’m not in love with you… yet. But for the first time in a long time, I want to chase this feeling and see where it goes.”

I love Matt! Because of his past, he has a vulnerability about him which is absolutely gorgeous! He’s not afraid to put his heart on the line for Sky, and he goes all out to get her despite his fears.

“Once I fall in love with you, don’t ever cheat on me. If you want to be done with me, tell me. But don’t lie to me or cheat on me. It’ll make me hate you. And all I want to do is love you. Someday. When we’re both ready.”

Sky has come from a background where she’s never felt loved, so being enveloped in all that is Matt (and his family), takes a bit of getting used to, but again, she accepts it open-heartedly, with all that comes along with it.

“I kind of need you, Matt. I kind of need for you to love me, too.”
I roll her to her back and settle between her thighs. I balance myself on my elbows by her head so I can play with the wet hair on her forehead, brushing it gently to the side. “Done,” I say.
Her eyes jerk up to mine. “Done?” she echoes.
I nod and kiss the tip of her nose. “I want to eat, sleep, and breathe you, woman”

There’s lots of family time, and I loved the moments that both Matt and Sky had with her adopted kids – particularly Seth – and, of course, the rest of the Reed clan are all a part of the story and their teasing, rough-housing, and the evidence of the close bond that they all share is fantastic. And not just the boys, the girls have also been wholly accepted into the family, and I love it when they’re all together.

With a great mix of sweetness, dirty talk and steaminess, the romance is absolutely fantastic, and I loved Matt and Sky’s story. Their coming together was beautiful, and the epilogue was perfect. And OMG, I’m excited for Paul and Friday!

I loved it – 4 stars.

***2.5***

Holy cow. I just balled my eyes out at the end of that one! Tammy Falker does it again. Romantic, sweet, kind, and tender. Just like Matt himself. But, honestly, did any of us really expect any less? I don't even feel the need to say anymore--because if you're already invested in this series, then know this one is just as great as all the others!! Thank you Mrs. Falker!!! Keep them coming! I can't wait for Paul's book next!!! I'm giddy-excited for that one too!

Mrs. Falkner shines once again! I absolutely love these boys. Finally, we get to Matt. You get a little preview at the end of CCC on the direction of his relationship with Skylar. I am not going into a lot of detail, just to avoid spoilers. Skylar is adjusting to life as a mom to her nieces and nephew that she just met. Matt plays an important role in that. They also adjust to being together after they both had failed relationships. if anyone deserves a HEA, it's Matt.

Matthew Reed was betrayed terribly by his fiance when he was dealing with cancer, his life was in limbo and didn't know if he would survive but his fiancee chose to seek comfort with someone else. Two years Matt is still feeling the burn where women are concerned, but when he meets Skylar Morgan he feels something he has not felt before, unfathomable interest.

Skylar has a boyfriend, but he is never around. When her father asks her to step in and take care of her half sisters kids, Skylar is not sure what to do. Her family is a mess and she had never met her sister, she is on a fast track in her career and adding three children is a huge commitment. It drive her boyfriend out and quickly makes him an ex but she finds comfort with Matt. Matt is supportive and offers Skylar advice, but he also wants to be with Skylar. Skylar has had a life where men always leave, can she trust Matt to protect her heart.

At times a little melodramatic, but overall I thought this was a good story. Matt has one part of the story that I kind of wished they had had a bigger conversation about but it gets resolved. Liked both characters and will go back to check out other books in this series.

I love the Reed brothers and Matt was no exception. I love how they are a true family and they have each other's backs no matter what.

Matt has had a pretty rough go of it and it was time that he found true love. It was totally perfect for him to fit in with Sky as he had so much practice in watching his younger brothers that helping her with her new additions just seemed second nature. Their relationship did develop pretty quickly, but that didn't bother me a bit.

I also loved getting additional information on Matt's previous girlfriend. And I loved, loved, loved, the letter that he wrote to her when he thought he was dying (especially the P.S. lol)

This series is just very easy to read and enjoyable. I'm looking forward to reading more about Paul!

Re read via audible

I cannot express how much I love Matt! I even really liked Skylar. The kids were cute but not overwhelming. Real issues were dealt with in ways I could handle. I laughed and cried (at the wrestling match).

This book and the epilogue make me so happy! I know I will re read again.

Safety gang
Sky has a bf when they meet. I think a day later she and bf break up.

Matt has an ex who is getting married. He takes Sky to the wedding for closure. Some drama ensues.

I would call this all minor OW/OM drama.

But you have no worries about them being "it" for each other.

Another winner from this series. I had high hopes for Matt and this did not disappoint. Matt has overcome cancer and being dumped and is such a great hero. Sexy, pierced, tattooist falls in love very quickly with lonely Skylar. The addition of kids made this a great read.

3.5 I know I know... don't slap me.. I love Matt anyways!

Let's just say that this book did not live to my expectations. Don't get me wrong I love the Reed brothers and Matt is one of my favs! But the truth is, this story felt forced, it lacked plot and was over the top cheesy and über unreal. (I know it's fiction but.... really?)

While reading the book I was picturing this:

After surviving cancer and a sad betrayal from his longtime girlfriend, Matt hasn’t been looking for love. When he meets Skylar, everything changes. He feels and instant connection/attraction to her and begins his onslaught… He just invades her life and starts asking her is she’s in love with him already… (second day they see each other). He is super attentive, adorable and just too perfect; like unreal, unbelievably perfect… in every way possible, we didn’t get to see any flaws whatsoever.

Skylar is alone. She is a girl who grew up lacking attention and love from her parents due to dire circumstances. Her parents do love her, but they star showing it a little late, therefore she is wary of falling in love. She also feels a connection with Matt. They meet at her sister’s funeral. The thing is, she is also wary because now she has to take care of her sister’s three children by herself, and she just doesn’t know how to be a Mom.

Matt and Sky end up together obviously, he helps her with the kids and she learns to love and, provides unconditional love for those kids and Matt.

Seems rather nice right? Yep, it was nice, and sweet and cute but… something important was missing. I felt that the whole book was just a passage in order to set Paul’s story, a way to just provide Matt with a nice HEA without giving too much thought to the plot, deep feelings and emotional connections. Every chapter is just one cheesy scene after the other, lines and lines of goo! I like sweet and cheesy stories, this was just too much.

Even the sex; I mean when they eventually end up in bed, which happens like super-fast also, even when Matt kept telling himself it was not about the sex..It all became stale, like oh yes, they are compatible, oh yes they go for some deserved nookie and it was like… like This:

I do love the Reeds’. I do believe Tammy is a fabulous author and I am so looking forward for the next installments. I just really hope Paul and Friday deliver, their story can be intriguing and more around the “enemies to lovers” side…. But sweet and not overdone like this one.
Oh! If they get a pet, eventually….. this is Matt! Such a cutie!

4 Estrellas!!
