Warnings of winter weather and a supernatural storm make for a dangerous holiday season for ex-cop Ben Nolan and antiques expert Erik Mitchell. Cape May’s ghosts are unquiet, and sightings of a Woman in White is an omen of misfortune. As Erik and Ben try to lay the spirits to rest, they are drawn into a web of secrets about old shipwrecks, unsolved Mob hits, and long-ago deadly intrigue.
Someone would kill to keep the past buried. As Ben and Erik navigate their growing relationship and help Cape May prepare for its big winter festival, they must face down ghosts, mobsters, and the town’s dangerous hidden history.
Can they resolve the crimes and mysteries of the past and live to tell the tale?
Angels and Omens is a thrill-packed MM paranormal romance mystery-adventure filled with supernatural threats, old secrets, Mob ties, long-lost shipwrecks, true soulmates, hurt/comfort, psychic visions, powerful witches, and haunted history.
Another great book in their story. I love Erik and Ben’s relationship. This book was another fun addition to their story. I was sad when I thought we were finished after 3. Now I am hopeful we might get a book 5 that involves our new character. This book falls the same general plot that the other three books shared. Haunted artifacts and mob ties. There wasn’t a ton of spice but like the other books, the lack of spice is not a deterrent. I enjoyed that this book carried on for a little longer then the resolution of the problem. It was nice to read a little more of their story and their life after the run in with the mob.
Lots of shootouts with two different mafias, who both want the same cursed objects. Ghosts and some allies help out our heroes. Too much graphic sex, which I skipped. To me, the most enjoyable part came at the end, after the action had concluded, when our couple adopt a dog. Typos: "diffuse some of the tension" should be "defuse." Diffuse means to spread out. Some repetition of facts. Sentence fragment: "his voice into a sexy growl."
This has been my favorite TT book so far. I like that we got to spend some non-life threatening time with the guys once the main case was sorted, I really like the way the author weaves characters from other series in the shared universe into her book. George is going to be a great asset to the series.
Didn’t love this one as much as the others, though can’t put my finger on why. I think some of the language was too cringey, like Ben, a grown man, describing Cape May, unironically, a “spookapalooza”. It gave me the ick lol. But the storyline was fun - ended a bit early with the rest of the book more ‘day in the life’ but it was nice to see more relationship progression!
