Roche Pride is a gripping tale of power, deception, and the fragile bonds that hold a family together. Levon Roche, the unyielding head of a powerful dynasty, fights to maintain control as the foundations of his world begin to crack.

His wife, Stephania, harbors a devastating secret—her affair with Maurice "Python" Hecate and the true paternity of her youngest child, Alessio.

Meanwhile, Amythist Nexxe, Stephania’s younger cousin, wrestles with her own silent suffering. Trapped in a loveless engagement to the ruthless Baylor Walsh, she finds solace in the Roche household—and in her unspoken love for Levon.

But as betrayals unfold and loyalties are tested, the question can the Roche family survive the weight of their own pride, or will their legacy crumble under the burden of their darkest truths?
A story of love, power, and resilience, Roche Pride explores the thin line between devotion and destruction in a world where family is both a sanctuary and a battlefield.

I really enjoyed Roche Pride, and while reading it, I kept thinking about the great lineage of dramatic, power-family storytelling it draws from.

If you grew up on the intense adult soap operas of the 1980s like Dynasty and Dallas, and later found yourself hooked on The Sopranos or Yellowstone, this book will feel instantly familiar—in a good way. Roche Pride taps into that same DNA: powerful families, buried secrets, forbidden relationships, hidden children, and the unspoken rule that the family must survive at all costs, no matter the personal damage.

The story is driven less by explosive action and more by emotional pressure. Levon Roche stands at the center, trying to project control while everything beneath him fractures. Stephania’s betrayal, Amythist’s quiet suffering, and the suffocating expectations of legacy all create a slow, tense unraveling that’s hard to look away from. This is messy, layered family drama, and the emotions feel earned rather than exaggerated.

What stood out most to me is how confidently the authors handle the genre. This story knows exactly what it is and leans into it. The characters are flawed, often frustrating, but believable—and that’s what makes it work. You may want to shake some of them, but you’ll also want to keep reading to see what choices they make next.

I finished the book genuinely curious about where the series is headed, especially how Victor evolves and what becomes of Giulia. Mather clearly understands this type of story, and I’m very much looking forward to seeing how the Roche family saga continues in Book

This book is a compelling start to a series that balances mystery with deep family drama. It introduces a wide cast of characters and makes it clear that every interaction or small detail might carry weight later in the story. The tension between public personas and private secrets is handled with great skill, especially in the final chapters where the emotional stakes come to the forefront. The relationship between Guila and Richie feels grounded and adds a layer of genuine warmth to a story filled with tangled lives and hidden motives. It is a quick and engaging read that leaves plenty of questions and a strong desire to see how the Roche family's journey continues in the next installment.

A Captivating Meshwork of Secrets and Power.
This book is a deeply engrossing family saga that kept me on edge till the very end. It forces one to acknowledge how fragile family bonds can be and the sacrifices they have to make to hold them in place.
What I loved about the book was how the author had created three dimensional characters who conveyed true emotional depth, with secrets that were like a ticking time bomb that could explode at any moment.
I would recommend this book to all those who love intriguing stories about powerful families harboring dark secrets.

Another solid 4 stars from me after finishing Pride of the Lion.

Levon is fighting to keep his empire steady while his arranged marriage to Stephania is quietly combusting. There’s a major secret at the center of it all, and the tension never really lets up. I definitely had moments of side-eyeing everyone.

What worked for me was how messy it felt — pride, betrayal, longing, bad decisions layered on top of family expectations. And adding Amethyst’s feelings into the mix? That just complicated everything in the best way.

It’s dramatic, addictive, and easy to fly through.

I enjoyed reading this book. The story is full of family secrets, betrayal, and complicated relationships that slowly unravel as the story moves forward.

What I liked most was how the characters felt flawed and real. Everyone is dealing with their own struggles, especially with the tension between Levon, Stephania, and Amethyst.

I would recommend this book to readers who enjoy emotional family drama

I was surprised at how quickly a patriarch could be so cruel to a son he finds out is not his (not the kid's fault!) and how the kid would obey him, albeit at gunpoint, even afterwards. It was an excellent story, well written, but I felt we needed more preparation for that cruelty: to see what his Cosa Nostra life was like when he wasn't shuffling papers. We get all the drama of the fractured family and its passions - well done, I thought. It stays with you when you're done.

“Roche Pride” by Mindy Mather and Maranda Florer is a compelling story that follows the lives of the Roche mafia family. At its heart is Levon Roche, whose world begins to fall apart when he discovers his wife, Stephania, is having an affair. I was immediately drawn into the tense atmosphere of betrayal and secrets, especially the tension between Stephania and her cousin, Amythist. I recommend “Roche Pride” to fans of family drama that don’t always have a HEA.

Such a great read. The characters were introduced in a way that felt natural and easy to follow, and the story built up really well. The pacing kept me hooked without dragging at all. I’m definitely looking forward to continuing the series.

Just not for me. It read to me like it was AI generated. I am not saying it was 100 percent, I am just saying that's the feeling I got. Kind of sus.
