The third book in the bestselling Club X series by New York Times and USA Today bestselling author K.M. Scott!
Kane Jackson, the ruler of the fantasy section of Club X, has always been different from his brothers. The bastard son of Cassian March III, he grew up without the money and privilege Cassian and Stefan enjoyed from the March name, instead only knowing his father as the man who abandoned him and seeing himself as unloved and unwanted. He let love in once and like everything else in his life, all that came from it was pain. His heart hidden behind the walls he's built since then, Kane is now just the dark figure who rules over the fantasies of others but has none himself.
Abbi Linde can't seem to get a break. Too many bad men and bad choices have left her bruised and broken, but the opportunity to dance at Club X could change everything. For the first time, she might be able to make a life for herself and find the happiness she longs for. After what feels like a lifetime of heartbreak, Abbi still believes one day her dreams will come true and she'll find the love that's eluded her.
Even the darkest heart craves the light, but will the darkness be too much for love to overcome with these two souls?

It’s time for Kane’s story. I’ve been craving his story ever since meeting him in Temptation. He’s cold, distant and broody, but he sometimes showed a soft side. I loved getting to know everything about Kane and I understand why he acted the way he did. He has a few secrets and he didn’t have the best childhood. His mom is a weird woman who’s very angry.
Kane manages the fantasy rooms and makes sure everything runs smoothly there. When someone causes trouble, Kane intervenes. He gets along great with everybody who works in the rooms. Abbi wants to dance at Club X, because she needs the money desperately. Kane doesn’t want Abbi to dance, but Abbi can be a bartender at the club. But Kane can’t stop thinking about Abbi. One day, Kane saves Abbi and it’s the start of something beautiful between them.
Kane and Abbi have both hurt by someone they loved in the past and that still affects their lives. I felt for them on many occasions. Both of them need each other. They make everything better for each other. They believe in each other and understand each other. Kane and Abbi are protective and would do everything for the other, even if it put themselves in trouble. I loved Kane and Abbi together.
I absolutely love Cash, Stefan and Kane relationship. I also love it that Cash and Stefan call Kane brother and not half-brother. The three men become even closer during these books. They would do everything for each other. They support each other and they will always have each other’s back. All the men change after falling in love and the love makes them better men.
I really enjoyed 'Temptation' and 'Surrender' but it was Kane's book I've been waiting for, he was the brother I most wanted to read about. I was actually excited at starting this book but I have to say it didn't last long I found it disappointing and depressing. I didn't like Abbi at all she was weak and whiny and got on my last nerve I was about half way through and struggling to read anymore, I checked the reviews again as I do frequently if I'm reading a book where my opinion is wildly different than I expected and luckily there was a review which wasn't there last time I checked which told me all I needed to know so I stopped reading.
These books started out somewhat decent, but just steadily got worse. This one ticked me off so much with the wishy-washy heroine (and I use that term loosely, the dingbat), that I'm not going to even bother with the final book. I don't care if they get together! After a sexual assault, that went unreported in the first book (hell, she didn't even want to tell her friend who liked the guy, that he was a violent, sexual predator because it would make her sad! Really!?), then, a physical assault in the second book by one employee against another, that went unpunished (the girl was even allowed to keep her job), I was still able to see some merit in the books. But when a city councilmen in the third book, who is taking bribes to protect this illegal sex club that he himself is a member of, begins making more and more demands for special privileges instead of worrying about what will happen to his career if the club is exposed, I had a difficult time not letting my frustration cause me to quit reading. And then Abbi has the nerve to doubt how she could ever look at Kane the same way after he kills a man for her when she stupidly puts herself in an obviously dangerous situation. Abbi is an idiot and every bad thing to happen to her, she caused to happen with her brainless decision making. I like strong, smart lead female characters. Abbi was none of those things. I don't know if the author was going for innocence with Abbi's demeanor, but it came off as simple to me, like she was a borderline imbecile. Considering the choices she made, maybe not so borderline. 1 star feels generous to me.
Ever since the first book I've been dying to know Kane's story. He is dark, mysterious, described as cold with a secret past that is the reason for his demons. I knew Kane's story was likely sad and it definitely was (I think I even tested up once or twice). This book honestly surprised me, it wasn't what I expected. The first two books each brother had their happy ending. Kane's book--the story I've been looking forward to most, made my heart hurt, two damaged people Kane and Abbi trying to love one another but are both so scared of their demons and pasts. It ends with a cliffhanger...well it doesn't exactly have the happily ever after ending (yet??). It was constant back and forth between them, Abbi constantly felt like she was ruining his life because Abbi has been beaten by every boyfriend she ever had so her confidence in love and boys isn't the greatest and Kane is terrified of hurting her. They both clearly want to be together but one of them is always pushing away the other, the typical "you'll be happier without me" when that SO isn't true. This series just pulls you along and the next book is a must read. I've already purchased book four and I'm beyond excited to continuing reading about the three brothers.

WOW, SOB, Gut Wrenching Possession Book 3 Club X K.M. Scott Truth be told, from book #1 in this series I’ve had a total attraction to the dark, dangerous broody Kane. Don’t ask me why, maybe I just have an attraction to the bad boys. But I’m Team Kane all the way. So when Possession Book #3 was being written and it was Kane’s story I was like all in. I’ll try not to give too much away. But can’t promise anything LOL. This story was gut wrenching. Seriously. Kane from the time he was a young boy was totally conditioned and brainwashed by his mother and her hatred. Amazing how much influence parents have on their kids. Constantly being told he was born to hurt eventually you start believing it. Unfortunately Kane thought of his dangerous tendencies as his demons but in reality it was his mother’s brainwashing and hatred. In his teen years when he was finally finding love and what love was, something so tragic occurred that changed him forever. Kane kept himself secluded and never allowed himself to ever get close or feel for another person. Thinking he was meant to be alone the rest of his life. This was a little hard to swallow in the read especially when you realize how he grew up. Kane was the ruler of the Fantasy rooms at Club X always sitting in the dark and watching monitors but never feeling, never allowing himself to want. He was definitely intimidating. I guess that’s what attracted me to his character. Abbi on the other hand also had a pretty rough upbringing and seemed to be attracted to the wrong type of men. She was definitely an abused woman. Her latest boyfriend beat her so badly that when I was reading the scene I cringed and a lump formed in my throat. Thank god she had a friend she could reach out to. Gemme came and got Abbi and took her back to her place. Several conversations later Gemme made a phone call to the Club and got an interview set up so her friend could get a job dancing. Abbi needed the money badly to start her life over and get away from Tampa and all the bad. The day of the interview Abbi was still sporting all the bruises from her ex but Gemme managed to work magic with makeup. Abbi’s interview went well with Cash and Stephan but the one person she needed to impress did nothing but scowl at her. Further along in the story you actually realize what was going on. As the story progresses Kane gives into his attraction to Abbi and you really really think YES finally they’re going to find happiness. But because of their insecurities and low self-esteem they sabotaged their relationship before it even got off the ground. Thus the gut wrenching WTF reaction to the read. My anxiety level was so high, I couldn’t breathe, my heart was pounding and all I could say was NOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Yes I balled my eyes out and the ending OMG the ending okay totally destroyed me. I honestly can’t believe I had such a strong reaction to this read. Right now I’m not sure what to think. I’m hoping when Satisfaction is released there will be an HEA for these two, or will Possession be their end. Will we see Cash and Olivia’s wedding? Will ClubX stay shut? 5* what can I say!!!! “Big Sigh right now” I need to re-read this story.
I was really looking forward to reading the third story about Kane, he's the most enigmatic character out of the three brothers. I loved the first book about Cash, Stefan's book was good as well. I had the highest expectations for Kane's story. Wow I'm really disappointed, this contains a lot of things that I don't like in my romances. Insta love, a whiny heroine. Plus the story is just so depressing.
SPOILER ALERT........................ Nowhere in the blurb does it tell you that the story will continue in a follow up book. This basically ends on a cliffhanger. It's not till you get to the end you're told in the author's notes. That's really annoying.
I had so many expectations about this book. Kane was my absolute favorite from the first time we saw him in book 1, it was mentionned several times how dark he was so I expected some fire, maybe some BDSM elements, I expected a LOT. But I was disappointed. The whole book was only about Kane saying "I am too bad for you, I will hurt you, I hurt people, go away, blah blah" and I rapidly became tired of it. And Abby was really too stupid for her own good...
Possession is book 3 in the Club X series. Readers finally get Kane’s story and let me tell you this is one hell of a story. Possession was a very emotional, powerful and heartwarming read. Please note there are some things that Abbi goes through by the hands of her ex-boyfriend that will tear your heart out. I started all three books on a Monday while I was out of work and I read them all in one day. I have to say that out of three Possession was by far the best for me. I was so captivated with the plot and character development that I could not stop reading.
Abbi is a woman who has been physically and mentally abused by her ex-boyfriend. Realizing that if she does not leave he will kill her. She calls her friend Gemma to get her. With the help of Gemma, Abbi gets enough confidence in herself to apply for a job as a dancer at Club X. Abbi wants to be independent, support herself and get her own place. What she does not expect to meet on her interview is a cold and detached Kane. A man that will not give her the time of day. Abbi believes she is damaged. She feels unworthy of love and doesn’t want people to get hurt because of her. She is a determined female lead. Although she gets hired as a bartender at Club X she needs to make more money and that leads to Kane coming to her rescue.
Kane, oh boy Kane. He believes that he is damaged and capable of hurting those he loves. No lie that is what his mother tells him, “You were meant to hurt, Kane. Never forget that.” Anyway, Kane is grouchy, detached and broody. He keeps his distance from people and from females. He watched his ex-girlfriend suffer and he blames himself for that. One look at Abbi he starts to feel things he does not want to feel and pushes her away. I absolutely loved the inner dialogue and reading his thoughts and feelings for Abbi (brilliant). You can tell he is affected by her.
“The problem was with Abbi I couldn’t do anything. Fu*k, didn’t ever understand why, I wanted to do anything about her. Yes I liked her the minute I laid eyes on her, but I done the right thing. Then why the fu*k couldn’t I get her off my mind day and night?”
When Kane and Abbi finally give in their feelings their relationship is one that is intense, powerful, full of meaning, love and caring. Kane tries so hard to let Abbi know that he does not want to hurt her. He really believes he has demons that will eventually hurt her. Abbi sees how wonderful Kane is. How he protected her, showed her how beautiful she was and she knows there is no way Kane can hurt her.
“You’re all I think of Abbi. I was ready to be alone for the rest of my life, but now I can’t think of living another day without you. Don’t let go no matter what I do.”
“I won’t. I promise. I trust you, Kane. Of all the people in this world, I believe in you and that you won’t hurt me.”
Kane and Abbi are both different in this relationship. They will sacrifice and protect each from anyone who dares hurt them or who try to come between them. I loved seeing the growth and strength Abbi developed in her relationship. She became a fighter and more confident. With the love and support of Abbi, Kane finally starts to come out of his dark shell but when Abbi is in danger Kane’s demons and dark side take over which threaten to tear them apart. Kane will do anything for Abbi and consequence be damn.
“I protect the woman I love. I have to. I didn’t do that once and she suffered for it. I won’t let that happen again. I can’t fight demons inside me when someone does something to hurt you. Don’t ask me to. I can’t.”
“Kane I love you. I love every part of you, including whatever demons you have inside you. I just want you to promise you won’t do anything to get yourself in trouble over me.”
Will Kane’s demons finally push Abbi away? Will Abbi walk away from the man she loves when she sees his true demons? Will Kane be able to protect Abbi from the danger lurking? I absolutely loved this story and I can’t wait to get my hands on the final book in this series.
I have sat here for a while (The day the book released) and tried to decided if i wanted to leave a review like i do with every book. This one was hard to do. Let me start of by first saying I DID love K.M Scotts books until i got a Private message on Facebook from the Author chewing me out for something i did not do. I like a lot of people said they were disappointed in Kane. I was disappointed in him for being a pig head man. The end of the book i wanted to smack him upside the head and say hello. Wake up dummy. That was all. (Me personally i think thats a good thing when a reader gets into a book like that) Didn't mean i hated the book or anything. But still got chewed out and told "I assume you'll give your opinion just as negatively in a review" So because of that i let it be and did not write a review till today. Since then i have read the book again and i don't know if its because of what the Author did has totally turned me off of her books and made the book sour for me. Where before i did enjoy the book for the most part. I looked forward to reading this book because i loved Kane. I loved Kane in the other books and yes i felt like he was a broken man but seemed so much stronger in the other books. Yes maybe this was a front, but the 2nd go around with him i felt like he was just whining through the whole book and repeating it over and over. Abbi was even worse. She was abused by her ex but immediately jumps in bed with Kane. But tells him how scared she is of him. Then not scared of him because he would "Kill for her" Then scared of him again. Then we see that the end is not the end and there will be another book. I was ok with that till all of this has happened. I personally won't be buying it or any more books from this Author. I have talked to my friends and also friends who are authors and talking to them and showing them the message we have all agreed. You don't do that to a fans and readers of your work. You take the good, bad and the ugly when you're a author. Not everyone is going to like your work but you NEVER go after your reader like was done for something you took the wrong way. For this reason i am rating the book only two stars now after reading it again and thinking about what has happened. Where before my review would have been WAY different.
When I started the Club X Series I was most interested in reading Kane's story because he was such an intriguing character always in the background never saying much never involved with a woman not even a one night stand. I figured his story had to be heartbreaking and very dark to fit his personality. What I encountered with this book wasn't anything that I expected and I was disappointed to the point I almost didn't finish it. The insta-love between Abbi and Kane was ridiculous to me, especially when she had just been beaten by her ex-boyfriend. I found it odd that with him telling her she could never leave him he never tried to get in touch with her this entire book. And the entire story consisted of the two of them repeatedly saying they didn't deserve the other. Okay after the first 5 times I got the point...they were both broken. And the ending...after all that for them to not be together? Hopefully the next book redeems itself
I was excited to read Kane's story because he is the most interesting of the brothers. Unfortunately, his book was the worst of the bunch. Which is saying something since none were great.
Abbi, a battered woman, is too quick to hop into bed with another "bad boy". She says she likes the idea of someone caring enough to kill to protect her, then later fears him for it. On top of that, she continues to do dumb things. Really TSTL.
The end conflict didn't make sense either. Kane had a pretty good "defense of others" defense and accidental death, especially after the kidnapping. hiding the victim is stupid.
I was really excited to read Kane's story, but this book fell short. From the very beginning Kane and Abbi were fighting their relationship thinking they were too broken or had too many demons to be worthy of the other. The progression of their relationship felt rushed and their "pillow talk" left a lot to be desired. I found myself skimming the last half of the book just to get to the end...which was a cliffhanger! The author mentioned an additional book with a potential resolution for Kane and Abbi, but at this point I just don't care if they get their happy ending or not.

Cash, then Stefan and now Kane. Kane and Abbi.. can two broken people find love and have an HEA? They can if they can break through the walls that are holding them back. I think Kane is my favorite so far and I am excited to read Satisfation when it is released. Thank you KM Scott for sharing their stories with us and sucking me into the story with them. I feel every heartache, every happiness and every anxious moment they do.
you really out did yourself k.m.Scott . I loved this series but this just drove it home. how this series will be number 1. Kane is a tormented deep soul and abbi has her issues. I love how all my feeling are engaged in this book and I could not put it down. I never what this series to end if you never read this series it's a must.
I was so disappointed. Things moved way to quick between Kane and Abbie. There was no getting to know each other they just jumped right in which didn't seem like Kane character at all. The ending was just as bad! K.M Scott is one of my favorite authors so it's hard to write a review like this. I hope the last book in this serious is better.
Kane & Abbi's story was really good! Loved it!In a way Kane is doing what he thinks is right, he needs to work through his demons, I totally understand his reasons for not being with Abbi at this time.. I can't wait for the next book in this series! I need more Cash, Stefan and Kane
I will try my best for words on this review....Omg. talk about heart poundingreach in your cheast and pull your heart out. what a story. what great charaters. if youhave not read the x club series do it now.
I am a little disappointed in how Kane's story panned out. I'm not a big fan of violence. However, I have loved Cash's and Stefan's stories and am going to wait until the final chapter to leave a full review.
"Angel, you could never ruin my life. You are my life."
Oh, Kane! He's my favorite kind of hero. Tortured and self-loathing, never believing he's deserving of love and happiness. He's protective of those he cares about but mostly, he protects them from the one thing he feels will bring the most harm. Himself.
Kane, the ruler of the Pleasure Rooms at Club X, has always made sure his dancers are safe. He's quiet, brooding, scary even. Despite being surrounded by beautiful women, he's never indulged. Never wanted to.
Abbi needs cash and lots of it to escape the hellish life she's been living. Always a victim, she longs to start over. Finally take control of her life. She hears the money is big at Club X as a dancer.
She's drawn to Kane. He's drawn to her. But, can he keep his demons at bay? Protect her with out becoming the man he used to be? What happens when real danger threatens Abbi's very life?
One unexpected turn of events could make Kane push her even further away.
I loved the rollercoaster in this one. I felt for Abbi. I hurt for Kane. I reveled in the evolving of their relationship. I wanted to wring Kane's neck and hug him all at the same time.
This one does end in a cliffhanger, but it only made me eager to start the next book!!
I’m really bummed that I didn’t like this book more. I knew Kane’s story was going to be darker than his brothers. He grew up in a completely different home never knowing his father or his brothers. Kane’s mom was apparently a whack job who did not provide the loving environment to foster a happy and healthy child. As for Abby, I want to feel bad for her, but I can’t. She claims to be strong, but leaves one horrible relationship and jumps feet first into another relationship without knowing anything about the guy. Truly the only thing she knows is that she doesn’t think Kane likes her...this is not the foundation for happily ever after! The issues Kane and Abby face individually are numerous, but when you add in trying to start a relationship, it turned into a mess. The one word that kept going through my mind was codependent...I can’t say I was surprised by the end, but I’m almost scared to see where their story goes. On the other hand, I really enjoyed Cassian’s and Stephan’s stories, so I know I will keep going with the series.
Possession is book 3 in the Club X series. This book is where I was emotionally destroyed. I was devastated to find out that two people were so broken that they could just not get close enough to happiness. The pain that came through these characters make you feel it all the way through you chest. You want to reach out to them and tell them to stay strong.
This is Kane and Abbi's story. We had an idea that Kane's backstory was going to kill us. And oh it made me feel for the little boy that grew up as a broken man. Abbi was coming up from a background that tries to destroy her. This woman still has some hope that one day she will be happy and in love.
My heart barely stayed in one piece with this book. I was crying, yelling, and hoping that once I get to the end we will all be okay. Well it was total 360 from what I had anticipated and once you read this book, you will understand what I mean. Seriously I am captured by this series and have enjoyed the reread this summer!
OMG! Love this series! But this book...so full of drama and angst and heartbreak. But also such a good story of love and trust and redemption. It's about Kane, who has suffered with his inner demons for his whole life, and Addy, who has been consistently abused by her past boyfriends. Addy of course, now has trust issues, as does Kane. But they come from much different reasons. The interactions and relationship between the two of them is just captivating. And good Lord, the end of the book!! No spoilers...but you need to read this book!
This was such a disappointment. I loved the first 2 books and Kane was the book I was most looking forward to, it was so bad I couldn’t even finish it. A grown man who continually talks of demons and a women who is so dumb it isn’t believable.
I hope the writer goes back to the original writing style but I won’t be buying any further books.
I enjoyed this story but there is a cliffhanger at the end . But I liked Kane and Abby . Kane is a protector and Abby is a damsel in distress kind of person. So Kane is perfect for her. But at the end of the book I was Mad with Kane for what he think is good for her . Cliffhanger and get the ending on the next book .
Whatever can go wrong, will go wrong. That basically sums up the whole book. I either wanted to slap them for being stupid and stubborn or i wanted to reach out to them and give them a hug.
le sigh.
It's so sad and heartbreaking but I hope they get with it soon.
I loved the first two books, but this one not so much. I enjoyed Kane's portion of the book, but Abby's not so much. I think it's the constant victim act that she stays in.
