I enjoyed every moment of this story. Aiden is an homicide detective, hunting a serial killer and living with a past that has plagued him for a long time. Nathan is a serial killer, who is obsessed with Aiden, he has him in his sights and won’t let him go. These two shouldn’t work but they do. Of course, Aiden doesn’t know the truth about Nathan. The first night they are together, Aiden discovers something new about himself and he loves it, he wants his daddy, and no red flags are going to keep him from having him. But those red flags keep getting tossed around and he can’t ignore them forever. Aiden has a lot of trauma in his past and is a good person, wanting to do the right thing while fighting his demons. Nathan is a psychopath and can’t let his little bird go, even if it is the smart thing. Together they have amazing chemistry and intensity to their dynamic, the plot is intriguing and keeps you interested. My one problem is I felt like some things weren’t answered…I would have liked an epilogue that gave me some details of their future…it felt like it just ended abruptly. It was well written though and I enjoyed it and the characters and where the story went.

Ruin Me, Daddy has this fantastic synopsis and honestly, I loved the first meeting between Aiden & Nathan, and they were just supposed to have this amazing one night stand.
After that one night I watched as Nathan and Aiden’s story became complex with these stunningly beautiful subtleties, but I will warn you that some of the subjects that are brought up in this story aren’t for the faint of heart.
When Detective Aiden finds that he’s caught the attention of this billionaire sociopath and serial killer Nathan he’s shocked and goes hunting for Nathan himself. Aiden is Nathan’s “little bird” and Nathan becomes Aiden’s Daddy.
I loved this twisted, dark, and really rather sweet story that was unique in its own brand of perfect. Both Nathan and Aiden have their own insecurities and doubts, and they both have their own secrets that they only share when they are ready and when they reveal and when they do, they are changed completely.
And when all the truths, they’ve both been hiding are revealed both Nathan and Aiden find that the true power of their love is actually the best bet in their happiness, and they do realize that the changes the truth brought to them were much needed.
Is Nathan going to be able to hide his secrets from his new detective boyfriend? Will love truly conquer all?
If you enjoy the Daddy/Kid dynamic, a good M/M read, an obsessive sociopath, a dark romance, and characters who have their own doubts and securities then this will be a good read for you and I recommend this one for you.

A romance between Aiden, a homicide detective hunting a serial killer, and Nathan, diagnosed with Antisocial Personality disorder at age 10, now a serial killer who has been successfully eluding the police for years, is not one which should work, but it does. When the two meet at a wedding reception (Nathan is actually there for his next victim), there is an instantaneous connection, leading to a one-night hookup with only names exchanged, no numbers. Both men cannot get the other out of their mind, and Nathan finds himself stalking Aiden, trying to manufacture an “accidental” meeting to reconnect and spend more time together. When Aiden calls him on it, Nathan admits the stalking, but the two work past that and the relationship continues to develop, each obsessed with the other.
The first night they were together, Nathan calls Aiden his “little bird” and has Aiden call him Daddy, something Aiden has never done before, but he finds he likes using the term and being protected and cared for by Nathan. There are red flags for Aiden about Nate, but he ignores them in favor of his love for Nate. Nathan is continuing his killings, and as they mount up, Aiden is noticing some coincidences which could make Nate a person of interest, but he declines to report it. He knows there is something off about Nate, but cannot get himself to point a finger at his Daddy as a possible killer. When things point more surely at Nate, Aiden must make choices about what he will do next, does he confront the man he loves, get his explanations, turn him in, or what? You will need to read to find out.
These two definitely have a strong physical connection, and both have a strong emotional one as well, Nathan as much as he is capable of, given his ASPD diagnosis. What he does know is that he loves Aiden, he could never hurt him, and he could never kill him, which limits his possible actions when things come to a head. Aiden loves Nathan, too, is invested in their Daddy relationship, but he doesn’t know what actions he could take if it all comes tumbling down. Both men have choices to make as things come to a head.
Characters are both complicated and complex, and there are hints of a connection which complicates interactions even more. Aiden is torn by his ethical and moral responsibilities versus his love for a man who makes him feel seen, safe, loved and cared for, something he desperately wants but doesn’t feel he deserves., and Nathan feels compelled to protect and cherish this man at all costs. It’s hard to see a way forward for them, for their love to endure. I still have unanswered questions, had Nathan ever been a person of interest until he got close to Aiden, would Aiden have been the only one to make the connections or would Nathan have gone undetected again, and what about the past tied into the choices Nathan made? I don’t expect answers, but it would make the story more complete for me.

What Aiden doesn’t realize is that he’s playing a high-stakes cat-and-mouse game with the very man he’s searching for. Nathan is a psychopath with a singular, dark fixation on Aiden—he’s ten steps ahead and determined to own the man he views as his fated match, regardless of the cost.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It’s a wonderful, fast-paced read with sensational chemistry and magnetic heat. The "Cinnamon Roll meets Psychopath" trope is one of my favourites, and having the "good guy" be a cop added such a gripping layer of irony to the plot. Nathan is a compelling, morally grey hero; his obsessive and predatory nature makes him a total "moral black hole," yet to Aiden, he is a swoonworthy and protective "Daddy." I loved the psychological tension as Nathan’s darkness wrapped around Aiden’s goodness!Aiden is such a lovable protagonist—his vulnerability and the mystery of his amnesia kept me totally invested. I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It’s a wonderful, fast-paced read with sensational chemistry and magnetic heat. The "Cinnamon Roll meets Psychopath" trope is one of my favourites, and having the "good guy" be a cop added such a gripping layer of irony to the plot. Nathan is a compelling, morally grey hero; his obsessive and predatory nature makes him a total "moral black hole," yet to Aiden, he is a swoonworthy and protective "Daddy." I loved the psychological tension as Nathan’s darkness wrapped around Aiden’s goodness!Aiden is such a lovable protagonist—his vulnerability and the mystery of his amnesia kept me totally invested. 1.5 ⭐️ for the setup and intention, but I was pretty bored after the first three chapters. I couldn’t bring myself to finish the book—mainly because the main characters irritated me.
Nathan is a cold-blooded predator with no feelings beyond possessiveness and intrigue who stalks and murders, but also is a huge wimp when he thinks Aiden is unhappy with him? Aiden is a cop with “an impressive record” that somehow ignores every one of his gut feelings about everything?
The author randomly line breaks every few paragraphs (even mid-conversation, at times) so what would be a time-skip or scene change in other books is, in this case, an aesthetic choice; it seems like the timeline is all over the place, just in the first two hundred pages. (Nathan had apparently been stalking Aiden enough to know that he likes to order a specific burger “at the same place at least twice a week” when it’s only been three days since their “date” and maybe two weeks since their hookup? He also put a GPS tracker on Aiden’s—again, a COP—car but when?)
A thing I absolutely can’t stand is a character being made out to be intelligent until it comes to dick. These characters are grown men; why is the cop acting like a scorned teenager, agonizing over something he’s adamant is a one-night-stand yet, in the same thought, saying they need to “hash this out”? What the fuck are we doing? He’s a COP (no respect from me on that, but goddamn), and he’s out here giving a man who all but admitted to stalking him his number to text him rather than follow him.
As for the “daddy” of it all? I hated it. Rubbish. Ridiculous. My guy had never once called or thought of himself as a Daddy (or just got off on the title), per his own thoughts after the first instance, but he suddenly wants to be a Daddy? Whatever; that’s fine, but Aiden’s constant “my Daddy” after their first encounter got on my nerves because he was, again, calling it a one-night-stand while getting pissy at Nathan for not offering more than the one night.
The initial setup had me so interested in what would happen; I wish their first meeting had been in Nathan’s POV, keeping us in the same mindset from the setup and letting us see the pivot in his thoughts.
Overall, this lacks whatever it is I’m looking for right now. I received an ARC for this book through GRR, and this is my honest review.

Nope, not a one-night stand when he walks back into his life. There are so many lies and secrets that are in between them. Nathan's life has been nothing normal, being a psychopath. All Nathan knew once I saw Aiden was that he would have him at any cost. Can this story work out when you have two men from different sides of the law? I loved the Daddy/boy play so much also. I just couldn't put this book down. I didn't want it to end, so I'm glad it is just the start of a new series. I will try to wait patiently lol.

This was such an addictive read. From the very beginning, I was completely pulled into the story and couldn't wait to see how everything would unfold.
Aiden is a homicide detective carrying a lot of trauma from his past while hunting a serial killer. Nathan is a psychopath with an unhealthy obsession with Aiden and unfortunately for Aiden, he has no idea that the man he's falling for is also the man he's hunting.
The chemistry between these two was absolutely electric. Their dynamic is intense, complicated, and filled with secrets, obsession, and emotional tension. I especially enjoyed the contrast between Aiden's desire to do the right thing and Nathan's complete lack of moral boundaries. They shouldn't work together at all, yet somehow they do.
Aiden was easy to root for. Beneath the investigation and romance, he's dealing with old wounds, unanswered questions, and discovering new parts of himself. Nathan is unapologetically obsessive, possessive, and completely fixated on Aiden, making for a fascinating morally black character.
The plot kept me engaged throughout, balancing romance, suspense, and psychological tension really well. My only complaint is that the ending felt a little abrupt. I would have loved an epilogue or a few extra chapters to see more of their future together.

I really wanted to love this book. The premise was so promising - a homicide detective hunting a serial killer while unknowingly falling for him? I'm sat. There was so much potential here, and I kept reading hoping it would live up to it.
Spoiler: it didn't.
A lot of the character dynamics just didn't work for me. The Daddy aspect never felt believable. Nathan admittedly never seemed interested in being a Daddy until he met Aiden, and even then it felt more like a label the story wanted him to have than something that naturally fit his character. And Aiden had never wanted to call someone Daddy - had never considered the Daddy/Boy lifestyle at all - until Nathan demanded he do it while they were hooking up? None of that clicked at all.
I struggled with Aiden as a character. He's a homicide detective, yet he was often portrayed as so naive and oblivious that it became difficult to see him in a profession that requires some degree of awareness and intelligence. I don't need detectives to be geniuses, but there were moments where I just wanted to shake him out of his stupidity.
That said, there are some positives. The book has some interesting twists, plenty of dark romance, and an interesting premise. It just never fully gelled for me in a way that made the romance or the central relationship feel convincing.

This was a good read. Not great but definitely good. The pacing was nice and it kept me interested enough that I never struggled to pick it back up after a break.
Other than that I'm not sure what to say...

My foot tapped on the floor, a strange sense of anxiety shooting through me as I tried to decide if I should leave it at that or tell him more. It was almost too easy to talk to him and tell him what I was thinking.
It was dangerous.
I found that Aiden made me think about a lot of impossible things.'
A serial killer psychopath and a homicide detective romance?! Sign me up! I loved this book. Great world building and wonderful characters. I loved both Nathan and Aiden. I loved their dynamic and their chemistry was fire! (And Nate's nickname for Aiden- little bird- I thought was so sweet). There was also suspense that kept me anxious for when the truth was discovered- because it had to happen somehow. Would Aiden discover the truth and arrest him? Would Nate surrender his freedom, or escape- by deadly force if necessary? I liked that both men had insecure moments and at their core thought they were really sweet. I also liked the supporting characters. I was hooked.
This is the first story I've read by this author and I'm excited to read more. 5 stars

I feel like 3 stars is generous and I’m give it that because I really enjoyed the premise of the book and the HEA and decisions behind it.
The beginning of the book is great and the idea behind the story. The first spicy scene is done really well also and I really liked how Nathan immediately switched his focus to Aiden at the wedding bar and never lost that focus.
I also liked how the story wrapped up. I don’t care how unrealistic it is that there is a HEA or how it comes about, I like my couples happy and resolved at the end.
With those points made, this book was a mess. So much of it didn’t really sense.
The characters personalities were conflicting at times, the Daddy kink is one I normally enjoy but here it was not working for me. Nathan calls himself Daddy so often. Then everyone fist bumps, the slang everyone uses felt dated, the relationship felt like bad fanfic written for high schoolers. The writing itself felt like juvenile. I really hate giving bad reviews, but I appreciate honest reviews from others so I’m trying to give my honest opinion here.

This is such a dark story that has so many bright nuances, I loved it. I enjoy the fact that their love story isn’t linear, isn’t perfect, isn’t all sunshine and rainbows, it takes work, and effort, and sacrifices that make sense in the story, but are sad. I loved how relatable Aiden is, how he tries so hard to do what’s right, to be the best version of himself he knows how, but doing the right thing does not fill that big, empty space in his life and heart. I confess I have a weakness for fictional psychopaths, and Nathan isn’t an exception. His obsession with Aiden is disturbingly beautiful. He cares for him as much as he can, and in such a beautiful way. Their need to belong, their need to be loved and accepted, to be known and seen, to have that empty space finally filled by someone… even in the midst of their darkness, they find their way to each other, make incredibly hard choices, and choose each other above everything else, and that is beautiful to see. And the journey the author takes us on, the journey we share with them, it’s beautiful, and I loved it. I highly recommend it.

MM romance with obsessed psychopath and cinnamon roll homicide detective.
I have mixed feelings about this book. The blurb sounded great, and I loved Aiden & Nathan’s first meeting and what was supposed to be their one night together. But besides their first night being hot, I didn’t really feel the chemistry between the characters.
Unfortunately, for me personally, the daddy part felt forced and Nathan calling himself Daddy (or more like forcing him to be the Daddy, without Aiden’s consent at first) felt more cringey than hot. I usually enjoy the daddy/mommy kink in books, but something about Nathan being like “Open up, little bird. Let Daddy bird feed you.” gave me the ick.
Not a bad book, just not my personal favorite, but I’m sure a lot of people will love this.

Aidan meets Nate, his daddy, at a wedding; they had a great night, and Nate can't let him go, so he *watches* over him. Aiden has been through a lot, and he just wants to be loved. He wants someone to choose him. He also thinks that he doesn't need anybody and that he can take care of himself; he especially doesn't need a daddy. But Nate shows him what it feels like to have someone. Nate feels things differently, and this is the first time that he wants to be a better person. He does try to do his best for his boy, Aiden, but he also has a hard time understanding feelings.
I really love how their connection was written and their feelings. Their relationship started and stayed intense with a lot of big feelings and situations. It is a dark, toxic story about two men who, despite everything, still needed to feel loved, and this is their story in their own way, and I loved it. I definitely want to read more books from Jennifer O'Malley. It was easy to read and very interesting.

I tried here. I really did. And I ended up DNF at 23%…
I found this book to be for lack of a better word boring. I found myself more often than not finding myself wondering what was going on as I was reading, which was a combo of writing style in some areas leading to confusion and me zoning out while reading due to boredom. I found the beginning of the book rather confusing. I don’t know much about the characters at about a quarter of the way through the book and I don’t think I could actually give a synopsis of the plot if I wanted to. I also have several instances of actually dozing off while reading the book (full disclosure, I read e-books in bed at night, but this is not normal for me).
One redeeming factor, I did think the first sex scene was decently written….

Absolutely delicious! Aiden, has questions about his past. He's a dedicated cop, spending his time hunting killers and crooks. Nathan, is a psychopath embracing his not normal. When he meets Aiden, he knows Aiden, is his forever man. They are on opposite legal sides, but emotionally they click. Nathan, is aware but Aiden is oblivious to Nathan's nature. There are hints of something off, but it's a challenge to ask questions you don't really want to know the answers to. Exciting story of choices and decisions and commitment concerning career and personal happiness. Great dilemmas, good story, excellent characters. Well done, nice cover art! I found this story to be incredibly engaging. I was hooked from the get-go! There were lots of feelings felt. Spicy scenes were nice and spicy! I especially loved the two main characters: Nate and Aiden. They were depicted beautifully, and my heart went out to them both for just what all happened to them to make them into who they became. Do not fret -- there is an HEA, but it is a dark romance. Check your trigger warnings! I didn't always agree with the decisions made by Nate or Aiden, but I could see why they were making them.
If you want a dark, MM, Daddy/boy romance, this may just be for you! I enjoyed Jennifer O'Malley's writing and will definitely be trying other books as well.

Ruin me, daddy evoked many different emotions as I read this. These ranged from fear, love, lust, longing and many more in between.The relationship between the two complex main characters had me on the edge of my seat the whole time and the twist at the end is not for the faint hearted; but also was in some ways very very realistic to those who have experienced similar. Jennifer o”Malley makes you feel sorry and deep sympathy for the antagonist whilst also exploring the daddy/boi trope and showing what giving one’s whole trust to another can do. This book is not one for those who are solely after true romance but if you want something a little darker and deeper than I would recommend reading this.

Ruin Me, Daddy by Jennifer O’Malley is book 1 in the Twisted Desires series. Once I started reading, I realized that I had read the short story that this was based upon. I love the idea of a serial killer Daddy and his cop boyfriend, but there were a few things that didn’t land for me. The emotions came way too quickly and I didn’t really feel like Nate was all in. Especially after the final confrontation. I also didn’t like the reveal of who had kidnapped Aiden when he was 17. That could have had a lot of emotional impact if I felt like Nate really cared for his “little bird”. But it felt a little fake when he’s been doing what he been doing for the past decade.

It's dark, delicious, and emotionally intense. Nathan and Aiden took me on a wild ride. They were absolutely unhinged and nuts in the best way. I had an absolute blast with these guys. This dark MM romance had me hooked from beginning to end. It's definitely not for the faint of heart. it's graphic and explicit, so be prepared for some gore. Morally gray... more like morally black. The Daddy/Boy dynamic between a cinnamon roll cop and a psycho serial unaliver was absolutely addictive as was the suspense.

This book was good. I wish that there had been more of a conclusion between the main characters but I did enjoy how their relationship progressed.
The story features a cop and serial killer falling in love. The cop has an intriguing history and a hinted at history with the serial killer and the serial killer appears to be killing at random however you found out that it's not what it seems.
The connection is deeper as there is also a daddy/boy relationship that is unearthed throughout their relationship. Nathan having the urges to kill like he does warring with his urge to be Aiden's daddy is such a contrast but it does make the story have an interesting element.
However the book and the story could give more. I think the daddy/boy kink could have been leaned into more as it definitely seems like the writer was aiming to make Aiden a little needier once he'd realised that side of him. I also think you could have had a bit more of an epilogue.
I would definitely recommend the book to other readers after checking the content warnings.

This is my first book by Jennifer O'Malley, and while the blurb and the premise drew me in, the book, in general, was a bit underwhelming.
Aiden is a homicide detective, and Nate is a psychopath/serial killer who's been stalking Aiden and is obsessed with him. Aiden falls for Nate and into their Daddy/boy dynamics very easily, despite feeling something isn't quite right with Nate.
I liked Aiden and Nathan as a couple; they seemed well-matched, and they had chemistry, even if the whole Daddy/boy dynamics felt a bit forced for me.
Overall, while the book didn't quite hit its mark with me, it was relatively intriguing and I'm sure others might enjoy it more than I did.

This is going to be a fantastic series if this book is anything to go by. I was immediately drawn to Aiden and the mystery of his past. It was impressive that he had been able to build a life as a homicide detective who helped others answer their questions we he couldn't answer his own. That is, until Nathan turns up. Nathan, the psychopath who maneuvers Aiden exactly where he wants him to be and exactly where Aiden discovers he wants to be until all the dark questions start to be ones he can't ignore. I was on the edge of my seat with this one. I wanted them to be able to be together because of their chemistry, but I also wanted Aiden to find out everything and be able to have a "normal" life and I felt guilty about wanting either of those, lol.

Nathan is an important business man but he's also an unaliver, cooly and calmly. Missing out on his intended prey, he picks another so he can gain access to his original. Along the way, he finds Aiden, his "little bird" and hooks up. He is obsessed with Aiden so he can't dispose of him, wants to keep him. He knows him from earlier in their lives, Aiden who is now a homicide cop. It's an excellent thriller, dark, dirty and disturbing. A psychopath and a victim who doesn't remember but changed his life because of it. It's steamy, kinky and in your face. I received a copy of this through BookSprout and this is my voluntary opinion.
