The first phase of the Tutorial is over. The safety wheels are coming off.
Logan Hale has survived the initial culling. He’s secured the first dungeon clear, snagged a unique healer who treats trauma like a snack, and bonded with a Primal Law that demands he judge the guilty.
The Tutorial City is becoming obsolete. To survive, humanity must push into the wilderness to found a new stronghold. But the forest between them and safety is ruled by ambush predators. For Logan, the escort mission is a nightmare. He isn't just fighting monsters; he’s fighting his own progression. His unique Trait shatters the standard rules of leveling, and the timing couldn’t be worse.
Logan has his own demons to fight. The Law of Justice is hungry. It whispers in his ear, urging him to become a cold-blooded arbiter of execution rather than a man. It is a power that operates independently of the war, demanding to be fed regardless of the cost to his soul.
With a sadistic Galactic Warlord as a mentor and a healer with infinite mana and infinite optimism, Logan must carve a path through the dark. If he hesitates, the caravan dies. If he embraces the power too fully, he might become the one they eventually need saving from.
I enjoy reading and writing LitRPG. My debut series is Loop Bound available on Amazon and Kindle Unlimited.
Loop Bound is planned for 10 books total. As a reader of LitRPG I understand the urge to binge. Heck, I am almost tempted to not start a series unless it has 3-5 books in it. With that in mind, I aim for short rapid release windows.
Dancing with death, Logan and Mira continue to be an amazing team. They pick up some solid temps to handle some challenges, and Logan continues to excel.
I made some comment about the addition of the character "Mira" when I finished book 1. I was wrong. Very wrong. In my experience, adding a new chatfield in a series tends to throw off the read. It skews the storyline. This did not happen. Mira adds to the story, gives Logan a foil, of sorts and begins to show her humanity and understanding of the loss. This is an outstanding series so far and I expect a lot from it. Not reading this series is a mistake.
While this series is starting to resemble others in the genre, I'm content to keep reading. I like the protagonist, and the character interactions seem genuine and are often funny.
The element of an out-of-control Law/Dao is interesting. I'm not sure why this idea hasn't been explored more often. You'd expect anyone that totally believes in a single path to correct living would become a zealot—seeing everything in black and white.
Anyhoo... I'm still having fun, so it's on to book three.
"You are going to wear a tiara into combat?" "Yes. It establishes dominance."
Mira is fantastic and steals the show. Though this is an all-around great series. It's hitting all the right notes for me: strong, independent characters that all have their own agendas, great banter, and lots of interesting growth.
I'm enjoying this series but I am slightly confused as to how the stats work. Except for explaining how fast he can run with his stats we have no idea how the others work. If your starting strength is 4 then at 40 are you ten times stronger? In two books I have seen no comparison to give me a clue. Other than that I'm enjoying this series
Loved the first book and somehow this one is twice as good. The writing is good and the story is captivating. I love everything about this book; especially the key characters.
Awesome book and series I love the powers the mc have and all the characters, each person is interesting and adds to the story none of them are really annoying making it easy for me to get lost in the series
This was a very good addition to the new series. I really appreciate how quickly the author is producing this series, it keeps me engaged, unlike other series that take a year between books. Good progression and I love the quirky characters!
Had a really hard time putting down this book. I love the gradual introduction of the greater universe. I also like the fact that the system can be tricked, but when it finds out there is significant punishment.
This was nothing special. The whole thing feels like a bit of a primal hunter clone with none of the proper build up to make anything matter. It's fine but if 3 stars is good then this isnt there
More a mechanistic book but the story flows. Interesting character classes and development. I do like the broken healer character and her link to infinity. I’ll try number three next. Nice to see a bit a strategy and some consideration of others.
An incredible second story into this universe, with tons of potential for lore, powerful factions, politics, and incredible combat! Looking forward to book 3!
I love the flow of the book and character development. I hope the main character can get a love interest at some point. I look forward to the third book.
