A seriously impressive debut novel - and an easy five from me. This was an absolute page-turner from start to finish. The fact that I read it in a couple of days is testament to that.

Uninvited strikes a really enjoyable balance between twisty thriller and a touch of romance, which adds an extra layer of emotional tension without ever slowing the pace. The story moves quickly, constantly throwing new revelations into the mix and keeping you guessing about how everything was going to unfold.

Interestingly, we know who the bad guy is from early on - but that doesn’t lessen the suspense at all. If anything, it ramps it up. The real hook is how things are going to unravel, and the story keeps you off-balance right through to the final page. Just when you think you’ve figured out the trajectory, there’s another twist.

The pacing is sharp, the tension builds beautifully, and the blend of intrigue, danger, and romantic tension makes it hugely addictive.

Real page turner

I really enjoyed reading this book and found it difficult to put down. The plot was very well crafted and the characters well formed and believable. It kept me guessing about the final outcome until right at the end. Even then there was a really clever twist. I won’t give anything away but I’m really looking forward to the next novel by this author.
