In a small town in West Virginia, all seems well from the outside but if you really take a look, evil lurks. People are going missing, bright lights are seen, and possible demonic activity is terrorizing the town. Is it all connected? Or is the evil caused by man? By cruel people? Follow four different POVs to get the answers these characters so desperately want.
Turner has a craft for creating characters with depth. These four different POVs/characters are easy to fall in love with. We as readers get to unravel the evil this town possess. And you won't believe who is behind it all. I loved the deaths and the sense of dread throughout. And that ending was so good! Turner is an up and coming author you don't want to miss out on! I highly suggest him! This was a great read.
Scars by Aaron Turner is the kind of horror that doesn’t just scare you it marks you. This story sinks its teeth into isolation, violence, and the kind of evil that grows wild where no one is watching.Set deep in the mountains, this book thrives on atmosphere. The setting alone feels alive—dark forests, suffocating silence, and the sense that something is always watching from just beyond the trees. Turner’s writing is sharp and cinematic, building dread slowly before unleashing moments of brutal, unforgettable horror. What really sets Scars apart is how personal it feels. Every wound physical and emotional has weight. These characters aren’t just running from monsters in the woods; they’re confronting trauma, guilt, and the terrifying truth that sometimes the worst monsters are human. This book is gritty, intense, and unapologetically dark. If you love horror that blends survival, psychological terror, and raw violence, Scars deserves a spot on your shelf and in your nightmares.
