Dante and The First Jubilee

Rate this book
The volume is divided into three parts. The first analyses the Jewish and Christian jubilees and everything connected with them. The second concerns the first real jubilee in history, that 1300 instituted by Pope Boniface VIII. The last part instead concerns Dante's relationship with that jubilee: Whether or not he went to Rome on that occasion, the presence in the Comedy of places in Rome and other issues in the Dante-jubilee relationship.
