Syxe has everything she once prayed for, yet still struggles to recognize herself inside it.
In the year following the birth of their son Sevynne, Syxe and Montana finally have the family they prayed for. But life after the honeymoon phase is messy, exhausting and far from perfect. Syxe is drowning in motherhood and marriage all while navigating a body that no longer feels familiar.
Montana is trying to remain present, hold space for the woman he loves, as he tries to slip back into a life he hasn't been home to manage. Their routines don't match. Their tempers don't align. But when old wounds quietly resurface and familiar threats slip back into the life they so carefully designed—Syxe and Montana must stand together as a united front. As Christmas approach, Syxe and Montana have to face the same staying in love is a lot harder than falling in love.
Ours is a tender, emotionally grounded story about identity, partnership, and family—about what it means to belong to something bigger than yourself without losing who you are.
You can clearly see the growth in the author’s writing and overall storytelling. The progression from the first book is noticeable, and there’s a lot here that works. I ultimately landed at 3.5 stars, mainly due to ongoing communication issues between the main characters. I absolutely recognize and respect the realities of postpartum challenges, and I appreciate that this story doesn’t shy away from those complexities. However, I struggled to fully connect with some of Syxe’s choices. Monty put several support systems in place to help reduce stress and provide stability, and at times it was difficult to understand why she chose to step away from those resources. Because this is a novella, there wasn’t quite enough space to fully explore her internal reasoning, which made it harder for me to emotionally invest in her journey. Monty also fell short for me in certain moments. While he did show up as a parent and made efforts to be present, some of his interactions lacked the emotional reassurance Syxe seemed to need. I would have loved to see more intentional, heartfelt communication especially during moments where physical intimacy was used as a default instead of deeper emotional support. Exploring different ways of reassurance could have added more balance and growth to their dynamic. That said, the friendships continue to be a strong point in this series. Jackie remains a standout, and Messy Mia grew on me more in this installment. I also appreciated how the story emphasizes the importance of honest, supportive friendships alongside romantic relationships. Overall, this was a solid read that shows clear improvement and potential. With more space for emotional depth and communication, this story could truly shine even brighter

she really pissed me off with this novella, I wouldn’t even recommend reading this shiiii after all mine tbh. this is not needed. all ours is supposed to be a glow up, but instead it’s a slow up. respectfully all or nth right? and this was NTH, you didn’t give it your all.
I was really glad to get an update on Sxye & Montana. This story gave a realistic glimpse into mommy issues that don’t always get talked about. I loved that even though Montana is possessive, he consistently showed up for his wife reassuring her and supporting her every step of the way, even when communication was lacking. I enjoyed this book.
So this was a good follow up to the first book. I love catching up with the crew and can’t wait for Jackie story. Because I definitely wanna know who was her man who was dropping her off and which of the cousins was the one who was giving her that look,. This is a depiction of when reality hits after the happily ever after... This isn’t just a lovey-dovey Novella but again we’re seeing what happens when people who you think have it all together really don’t and a couple that is still very new and navigating each other even after a year or two in. There is one character that I was surprised to see their growth… Can’t wait for the next one. I also loved how much the authors writing has grown since the first book. Everything was just more sleek and neater in terms of formatting
Whewwww Monty almost made me close this book AGAIN!! Idgaf what yall say in my Lisa Raye voice that man drove me up the wall lol. It was like he just refused to actually step outside of himself and see SYXE. Everything was what he loved and what he wanted like omg who cares. What about how she saw her self??? Buttttttt lol the story was beautiful. The messages and the spot light on postpartum was good. It realistically showed the pain that women experience and no one notices until it’s too late. I was happy to see him finally tap in and actually understand her pain, grief, struggle and insecurities. I enjoyed the ending because family and love is always the end goal. 3.5/5 Now I’m keeping an eye out for Jackie story.
You did it again Karalynne! 🤎I love everything about this Novella! Karalynne wrote this book perfectly! Monty and Syxe story was the perfect book to start the New Year with! 🤎 I see myself in Syxe so much! Struggling with loving your body during postpartum is tough. But the way Monty loved her through that stage and loving her through her feelings about the Nia situation was everything! Having a partner who can love you through everything can make the most difficult days feel like a breeze 🤎
I love the beautiful story. Monty and Syxe went through a lot, but they came out on top. I loved how Monty made sure he loved in his wife. Sometimes, women dont love themselves, but when their men show them. It becomes a different story. I love how Syxe became the bigger woman than Nia. Women can be hateful when another woman step in to take care of their children. The children are caught in the middle. Syxe went through it in the beginning, but then her man Monty showed her that he loved her.
This was so good and funny. Even the serious moments of what a woman goes through mentally after giving birth. Montana was right there to lift Syxe up. He doesn’t play when it comes to his wife or his kids. He is possessive and I love it!🥰 Jackie and Kormia are some real ones. They gone always have their sis back. And when did Jackie get a G-Wagon!!!🤔 we’ll find out next book. And don’t let kormia cook nothing else!!😂 she over there playing!
The update I definitely needed and wanted. It makes me anticipate Jackie’s story even more. There were only 2 things that threw me off but it definitely didn’t take away from how good Karalynne wrote this cute and very real follow up to All Mine!!!!!
Love me some Syxe & Montana! It was nice to see the effects of postpartum in a very realistic way. Karalynne did a great job of showcasing how it not only affects mom but also the struggles partners have with trying to support their spouse & not really knowing what to do. Nia will forever be trash to me but I appreciate the growth. This was a great update!
This was the follow up to Syxe and Monty that I desperately wanted. I’m so happy everything worked out with Nia triflin tail. I also love how Monty got Syxe right with her postpartum body image issues…that’s right Monty, workout with your woman!!! I enjoyed this novella so much!
This story is so relatable especially for so many women struggling to do it all. I love how Montana saw his wife and kept reminding her of her place in his life! Women need to hear that from their partners. Im so glad I found this author can't wait to read more by her and hope to hear more from my new favorite book couple!
This was a great follow up to Syxe and Monty's lives after we left off in the last book. The author did a really good job of stressing life after marriage and adjusting to life after a baby. Syxe was driving me insane yet Monty stood on business ensuring she knew she was still perfect to him. Jackie and Kormia are real friends!
I just love Monty and Syxe. This novella was everything after reading All Mine. Patiently waiting for the upcoming release for Jackie. If you love a man obsessed with his wife and children, you’ll love this book. 🥰
This type of story needs to be told. What it looks like to find yourself and joy after you gave ao much up to have a baby. This was beautiful. It covers the nuances of being a mother and being a woman.
This follow up story was everything! Loved the banter between the two main characters was needed. Loved to see the story unfold and maturity come forth.
This was a good follow up to the first book. It’s a good way show how in even in a happy relationship there can be conflict without slot of extra drama just life can happen and you can still be connected to your partner and work through it.
