The fearless cowboy shows us that sometimes love begins as a choice made for all the wrong reasons and slowly, as it’s given room to blossom, it becomes the best thing ever!
Hyacinth Berkly’s sassiness and strong will pulled me in, but the immediate emotional stakes of a marriage of convenience kept me reading.
Author Jody Hedlund is a master at the marriage-of-convenience trope. I enjoy the deeper emotional connection, the pining for what’s to come, the dive into becoming the other person’s default person, and the slow ache and tension that result when the characters need to stay emotionally attached. Ultimately, I crave the satisfaction when the characters think their mistake will define them and then realize that it crystallizes what they really want and need. Jody Hedlund knows how to rein in the chaos and show us the heartbeat.
Beckett Thorpe has run away from responsibility and faces a deadline if he wants his inheritance. Hyacinth Berkley is willing to settle for the first available man in Colorado. She’s tired of waiting for ‘the one’ and tired of watching her sister’s marriage grow into something enviable. When these enemies hatch a plan, they aren’t ready for the sparks!

I love a good marriage of conscience story and this one exceeded my expectations! I absolutely loved this book. Beckett and Hyacinth’s story is such a fun one. I wanted/want more of it! Im sad their story “ends” but I hope to learn more about them in the next book! The way they are drawn to each other is unmatched. Their banter is so fun to read and it just draws you into the story. I think this is my favorite of the Noble Ranch series!! They just get better and better!

Jody Hedlund's newest series, Noble Ranch, is getting a new edition, The Fearless Cowboy, and it is such a great story! One I could not put down. The antagonism and chemistry, while remaining clean, was a fun take on a classic trope. Hyacinth, who we met in book one as Violet's sister, is itching to get out from under her sister's deliriously happy marriage and her father's presence and constant reminder of the life she does not want to leave. Beckett is just the cowboy to put a spur in her saddle and seeing all their sparring and ribbing was just entertaining. They are both reasonable, except when their pride and fear gets in the way, and find they actually enjoy one another's company. What starts as a marriage of convenience quickly grows into more and I loved the journey to Texas to help them discover their new version of reality.

The Fearless Cowboy by Jody Hedlund was everything I hoped Hyacinth and Beckett's story would be and more. Ever since meeting these characters in the earlier Noble Ranch books, I wanted to see them get their happy ending. Their constant bickering, undeniable chemistry, and ability to get under each other's skin made me confident they would be entertaining together, and this book absolutely delivered.
Hyacinth was such a wonderful heroine. Strong-willed, independent, and a little bit sassy, she was determined to stop living in the shadow of everyone else's happiness and finally create a future of her own. I loved her determination and the way she challenged Beckett at every opportunity. She wasn't afraid to speak her mind, and her fiery personality made every interaction between them so much fun to read. At the same time, there was a vulnerability beneath her strength that made her easy to connect with and root for.
And then there's Beckett.
Beckett has been through quite a journey throughout this series, and I was so excited to finally see him get his chance at love. On the surface, he's dependable, hardworking, and determined to claim the inheritance that depends on him getting married before time runs out. But underneath all that responsibility is a man who has spent a long time running from certain parts of himself. Watching him slowly open up, learn to trust, and realize just how much he needed Hyacinth was one of my favorite parts of the story.

The tension between Hyacinth and Beckett was fantastic. They constantly argued, pushed each other's buttons, and pretended they weren't affected by one another, all while the attraction between them practically jumped off the page. Their banter was witty, their chemistry was undeniable, and I loved watching them slowly become each other's person.
One of my favorite parts of the story was their journey to Texas. As they traveled together and spent more time in each other's company, they slowly built a friendship beneath all the tension and stubbornness. Watching them learn to depend on one another, open up about their fears, and become a true partnership made their romance feel even more meaningful. And that first kiss? Completely unexpected and absolutely perfect.
I also loved the strong emphasis on marriage throughout the story. Beyond the romance, the book beautifully explores love, loyalty, trust, sacrifice, and what it means to build a relationship that can withstand life's challenges. Jody Hedlund does a wonderful job showing how two imperfect people can grow together and discover that what began as a mistake may actually be exactly what they need.
As someone who has enjoyed the previous books in the Noble Ranch series, I loved seeing familiar characters make appearances throughout the story. While The Fearless Cowboy can certainly be read as a standalone, I appreciated it even more because I was already invested in this world and these characters.
Overall, The Fearless Cowboy was a heartfelt, swoony, and emotionally satisfying romance filled with marriage-of-convenience tension, witty banter, wonderful character growth, and a couple I couldn't help but cheer for. If you love cowboy romances, opposites attract, forced proximity, and marriages that slowly turn into something real and beautiful, this is definitely one to add to your TBR. ❤️🤠📚

Another sizzling, romantic historical Western from Jody Hedlund! The Fearless Cowboy is the third book in the Noble Ranch series & definitely brings all the sparks, aching longing, and underlying attraction of an enemies to lovers, marriage of convenience romance. With plenty of action, romance, & heart, this story kept me quickly turning the pages.
Hyacinth Berkley’s sassy, strong-willed, & a bit of a tease. Her practical idea of marriage is more business transaction than love match. Tired of being the third wheel to her sister & brother-in-law, she’s willing to marry anyone who isn’t like her unreliable father. She’s about to accept a proposal for a marriage in name only with a much older suitor when the man who teases her to no end & gets under her skin like no other offers her an alternative.
Noble Ranch foreman Beckett Thorpe has a deadline hanging over his head. Secretly the son of a wealthy Texas ranch owner, he must marry by his 30th birthday to inherit the ranch. He has no desire to leave Colorado, but wants to protect the people who depend on the ranch from his greedy, irresponsible cousin. Hyacinth attracts him like no one else, though she wants nothing to do with him. After a fiery kiss, he’s surprised when she agrees to marry him. Wow! The chemistry practically leaps off the page in this one. Enemies to more & marriage of convenience is a dangerous combination, especially with all the sparks flying. Though it’s closed door, the scorching looks & kisses definitely had me reaching for a fan.
Hyacinth had to grow on me because she’s so sassy toward Beckett, but he gives it right back, & it’s clear they’re the perfect match. I loved watching them grow closer as they opened up about their difficult pasts & faced danger from those out to get Beckett. There’s so much heart alongside the fiery romance.
Though this is the third book in the series, I had no trouble reading it as a standalone. I found it easy to jump right in, didn’t mind a few spoilers for the previous books, & now can’t wait to read them. I received an advanced copy but also borrowed in Kindle Unlimited. Ever since Hyacinth was introduced in previous books, I have been eagerly awaiting her story! Jody Hedlund did not disappoint! This is more than just a simple marriage of convenience story; it's one filled with adventure, clean romance, hidden identity, and the desire for safety.
Hyacinth has always wanted to marry a man she feels safe with. After the unrest and unease her father had put her and her sister through over the years because of his gambling addiction, she's ready to settle down in a relationship that is safe rather than passionate. Since Hyacinth's sister married, she's felt out-of-place at her brother-in-law's ranch and is ready for a place of her own. As she watches her sister and husband Sterlings passionate relationship, she begins to wonder if she could be missing out on something special by settling for the first safe man who proposes marriage. An experimental kiss with foreman (and former enemy) Beckett Thorpe has Hyacinth second-guessing her decisions.

This was exciting and I didn’t want to put it down! The Fearless Cowboy is the third book in Jody Hedlund’s Noble Ranch series. I was a bit apprehensive when I started the book because I wasn’t sure how it was going to turn out. However I ended up loving the story.
Hyacinth and Beckett did not get along at all, in fact they were constantly getting on each other’s nerves. However after getting married they began to see that maybe they did actually have feelings for each other. There were definitely sparks between the two and they had a lot of differences to work through.
They were both pretty self absorbed at the start but it was cool to read about them growing. As they spent time together they were forced to really evaluate their motives for marriage. It was interesting to get to know them and see who they truly were. They were just hurt people trying to figure out life and care for others. Their romance was fiery but they fell for each other hard.
Both Beckett and Hyacinth had to figure out if they were willing to risk their hearts for each other. Their pasts were guiding their decisions but they needed to learn to look towards the future. Beckett had a whole backstory and it was cool to learn more about him. His inheritance really forced them together.
This was a fun book and I would recommend it to those who enjoy historical romances with hints of action. I loved the themes of forgiveness and making amends. The Fearless Cowboy is a closed door romance with steamy kisses and innuendos between a married couple.

Something about a good Western book about cowboys resonates with me. If you have read the first books in this series, you have met Beckett and Hyacinth. Beckett is the foreman on the Noble Ranch and best friends with Sterling Noble who is in charge of the ranch while his parents are away on an extended trip. Hyacinth is the sister of Violet, the new bride of Sterling. Beckett and Hyacinth fuss and bicker and try their best to make life miserable for each other. Since they are the leading characters in this story, their arguing and bickering seems to have ramped up to a new level. They simply cannot seem to get along together no matter what they do. In fact, if they are not firing barbed words at each other, the reader gets the impression that something is wrong with them. Everything starts to change when Beckett tells Hyacinth that he has to get married before his 30th birthday, which is only a few weeks away, if he wants to claim his inheritance of the Double T Ranch in Texas. He already owns half of it since the death of his father. Now his father’s partner has died, and Beckett is set to inherit his half if he meets the requirements set forth in the will. What a ride awaits him and Hyacinth when they decide on a marriage of convenience. Something about that idea would have no appeal to me at all, but somehow they think they can make it work. They have a lot to learn about themselves and in the process may teach the reader a thing or two. The action gets very tense at times and keeps the story moving ahead at the pace of a galloping horse. I received an advance copy of this book from the author. This is my honest review. Marriage of conveniences is my 2nd favorite thing in a book. It's a chance to learn about one another.

This is Hyacinth's and Beckett's story. Oh my! They're certainly a hoot. They made me laugh all the way through. Beckett is so typical. So predictable but I still thought he was a fun character. He's an ok dude.
Hyacinth is a lot like me. I felt like Hedlund was telling my story lol. We both are hardheaded and stubborn. It's what I loved most about her.
Hedlund is quite a gifted storyteller. I've loved her stories since Preachers Bride.
This series is my favorite of hers. So very cute and funny.
I didn't want to say goodbye. I enjoyed in getting to know these wonderful characters.
I was happy to see the other characters from the first two books especially Violet.

Jody Hedlund's novels are full of swoon, sizzle, and romantic banter, and The Fearless Cowboy did exactly that. I really enjoyed the witty, romantic dialogue between Hyacinth and Beckett. Their love was contagious from the jump, and I loved seeing how their relationship progressed throughout the story. While the plot wasn't my favorite (I found it to be a little unoriginal and a rendition of Marrying the Matchmaker and Lassos & Lace combined), it was still an enjoyable read because the characters were wonderful. Another aspect I really loved was the heavy emphasis on marriage. The Fearless Cowboy sets the blueprint for how a God-centered marriage is supposed to operate--on love, loyalty, trust, sacrifice, and faith in the Lord and his plan. Overall, I'm happy Beckett finally got his happy ending after the fiasco in book #2, and also enjoyed seeing the appearances of Sterling and Violet from book #1. I'm looking forward to reading Sterling's brother, Jameson's, story in the next installment of Noble Ranch!

I’m so excited to finally have this story. I wanted Hyacinth and Beckett to get their happy ending, and after how they interacted in the past, I knew that they were going to be so good together.
The Fearless Cowboy is the third book in the Noble Ranch series. Although it could be read as a standalone, these characters do appear in the previous books.
Hyacinth and Beckett had such tension and passion between them. They were constantly arguing and getting under each other’s skin, but it was obvious that they were attracted to each other.
I loved their first kiss so much because I wasn’t expecting it, and it was so passionate. I’m honestly not surprised with how great of chemistry they had together.
It was nice to see how they started to build a friendship on their journey to Texas. They honestly were really good together, and it was nice that they started to open up with one another.
Their time in Texas was both exciting and educational. I wasn’t sure how things would work out, but the ending was very satisfying.
Overall, I would recommend this book and the other books in this series!

The Fearless Cowboy was enjoyable from start to finish. These two have been circling each other since the start of this series, and I was so happy to finally get to read their story. They are both sassy and bold which makes for some entertaining sparring. I loved how they went into a marriage of convenience right from the start. This set off the forced proximity of the rest of the book that really kept the tension and the interest high. It didn't feel like they fell in love too quickly even with a shorter timeline because they had so much history already, and we just got to be there to see when they finally realized that they irritated each other so much because of how much they actually liked each other. In classic Jody fashion, the romance is fiery and sizzling while still keeping it clean. The journey to Texas was fun, and it was great to see them grow closer through that experience. The Texas setting was a nice way to mix it up, and the adventures that happened there really made for a dramatic and satisfying ending. Jody has done it again. I was excited that Hyacinth was getting her own novel after meeting her in book one in the series. I really like romance tropes where opposites attract, and I found the spirited banter between Hyacinth and Beckett to be a fun relationship to watch unfold in this novel. I also love marriage of convenience stories, and this one had the right amount of sizzle while keeping the romance closed door. Hyacinth is about as stubborn as they come, but her independent spirit is the perfect match for the equally stubborn Beckett. I liked that they both had to learn to compromise as their love deepened. A surprising twist kept my attention, and I had a hard time putting the book down. This story stands well on its own, but reading the first two novels does provide some background on the characters. I was also excited for the Jameson cameo, and I can’t wait for his story! This novel is recommended to those who like historical romance!

The Fearless Cowboy: A Sweet Western Historical Romance - Noble Ranch # 3 is a 𝟱 🌟 for me! I finished it basically a day and half. I loved so much about this book. Now I haven’t finished the first 2 books but will be very soon bing reading. I loved Hyacinth’s spunk and fire. All I will say for now is this marriage of convenience was a real winner for me. I love MOC trope always because there always seems to be some kind of tension and love deep down in the relationship. The sparks truly are there for Hyacinth and Beckett. Jody Hedlund writes so exceptionally well that I forgot I used to not like to read any kind of historical romance. I can’t wait for more of Noble Ranch.

I enjoyed the sassy banter and teasing between Hyacinth and Beckett, and reading about all they needed to deal with in their own lives in order to be ready to admit they love each other. It’s quite the journey, and I appreciate that Hedlund emphasizes the character qualities they come to love about each other instead of focusing on outward beauty/handsomeness. This banter filled marriage of convenience was a delight to read! It’s always fun, taking a trip to Colorado, and seeing my favorite cowboys (although Dylan will always have my heart — his book is The Last Chance Cowboy)
Hyacinth and Beckett are most certainly a perfect match, and Beckett knows it, well his heart does, his brain is in denial. And Hyacinth just needs some convincing 🤭
Watching their marriage of convenience play out, with the so very obvious chemistry, *ahem*thatkiss*ahem* his protectiveness, and the drive in both of them to do the right thing was the perfect mix of suspenseful and sweet.
The faith elements are present, but light, and the banter and chemistry are top notch in this closed door historical marriage of convenience. It’s not necessary to read the series in order, but it helps!

Happy day!!! I'm always excited for another book by Jody Hedlund! This is the third book in the series and I haven't had the chance to read the previous two books yet but loved diving right into Hyacinth's story and getting a little back story for the earlier books and characters. If you haven't read the previous books, the author has written this one in a way that makes it easy to read as a standalone but still enjoy knowing about the previous characters to a degree.
Hyacinth is a very strong character who has had some struggles with family in the past. To protect her heart she's going to find a match with someone whom she won't have to worry about being romantically inclined towards. *Good luck with that sweetie* Especially when the foreman for The Noble Ranch gets under your skin and cares about you. And he might have ulterior motives with needing a bride to receive his inheritance. *Smirks* Yeah, her carefully laid plans are going up in smoke! *POOF*
I loved the banter and chemistry between Hycainth and Beckett! These two are just so much fun together. She stands her ground but he knows just how to get under skin and tease her and bring out her gentler side. Plans backfire a little...okay, a lotta bit!!! But I was there for it! A good marriage needs communication! They have plenty of that! And some chemistry and attraction! And they definitely have a lot of that as well!!! And of course there are lots of other aspects to a good marriage and these two are having experiences together that are making them come together as a team and solving problems together and growing together. So them claiming it's just a marriage of convenience in name only, is just them fooling themselves. Because they are perfect for each other! I loved them! I hope you do too as you read the book and get to know them and their backstories, struggles, and strengths!

Oh the banter, the angst and the swoony kisses will pull you in faster than you can shake a whip, but the ranch life, wonderful characters and the charming love story will hold your attention throughout the entire book. I was so excited for Hyacinth and Beckett story, and it did not disappoint. They were at odds from the moment they met and yet are drawn back to each other every time. The chemistry is undeniable, their relationship is saucy and spicy, but remains a closed door romance. It is part of a series that I highly recommend, but if you pick this book up as a standalone, there is enough background that you will be able to follow along easily. Jody Hedlund kept me turning the pages of the Fearless Cowboy. I have looked forward to reading Hyacinth and Beckett's story since the Favored Cowboy when they were pretending to be engaged. Hyacinth deserves a happy story.
I enjoyed reading Hyacinth and Beckett's enemies to lover's story because they fit so perfectly together, they just could not see it right away. It was a quick read. The plot was simple and the main action was the tension building between Hyacinth and Beckett who find themselves in a marriage of convenience but wonder if they are the only one who feels like it could certainly grow to passion. In The Fearless Cowboy, we have her hallmark romance combined with the fiery disposition of our heroine, Hyacinth. I LOVED Hyacinth! Her wit and banter with our hero Beckett brought a smile to my face. I sincerely hope she will appear in the next book!

Jody Hedlund entertains her readers with a new Noble Ranch heartfelt story set in Summit, Colorado and adds a twist when Hyacinth and Beckett Thorpe travel by train to Texas. The character development, plot construction, and pace are just right. Hyacinth's determination and curiosity lead her into a challenging predicament to marry for companionship, wealth, and comfort or marry for love, emotional security, adventure.

Beckett 's character traits: loyalty, trustworthiness, and kindness.

My favorite of the Noble Ranch series. When I first met Beckett I couldn't wait to see what woman he would wed and this book did not disappoint. The chemistry between these two was sizzling from the beginning even though they didn't realize it and were just antagonizing each other for the fun of it. This story gives us Beckett's backstory which was very unexpected. There is some action when they get to Texas and are forced to deal with his past but through their faith and resilience they pull through it all and realize their marriage of convenience is actually a marriage of love. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

I loved The Fearless Cowboy by Jody Hedlund, just like I have loved her other books. The story was engaging from beginning to end. One of my favorite aspects of the book was the Texas history. It added depth to the story and made the setting come alive, while also teaching me things I didn’t know before.
Jody Hedlund has a gift for blending historical details, adventure, and romance into a compelling story. The characters felt real, and I found myself invested in their journey. If you enjoy Christian historical fiction with a rich sense of place and strong storytelling, I highly recommend this book.

Well Written Clean Romance
This book was a very happy surprise for.
I was a bit reluctant to read a book set in the old west as they can be hit or miss.
This one was a big hit!
The sad life Hyacinth seems doomed for at the beginning of the book is not at all what her fate ended up as.
I won’t give away any details, but what I will say is that this book is an emotional roller coaster throughout!
I enjoyed reading about each up and down and each new landmark in the relationship.
This is by far the best clean d west romance I have read in quite some time.

The Fearless Cowboy is a perfect example of why I love Jody Hedlund’s books! Plenty of romance, danger, and humor are to be found in these pages, and I enjoyed every one. I connected with both Beckett and Hyacinth and found their journeys relatable, even if I’m not a mega-rich Texas ranch owner.
