In the Land of Fake-Believe, Princess Pink meets the Three Little Pugs--the trickiest car dealers in town. They sold Scaredy-Pants Wolf an actual lemon instead of a car! Princess and her friend Moldylocks must work together to get their friend his money back. Princess will have to use her new karate moves to block, chop, and kick down this shady business for good!
Noah Z. Jones is an author/illustrator/animator who draws all sort of wacky oddities out of his home in Camden, Maine. After taking part in a monster-drawing contest in the fifth-grade (placing fourth out of five) he realized that he wanted to create art for a living.
As a kid, Noah Z. Jones' love for drawing was fueled by dinosaurs, monster movies, and the WACKY PACKAGES line of trading cards. He would spend hours poring over books by Maurice Sendak, Richard Scarry and Mercer Mayer.
His unique art and designs have added to numerous award-winning projects from clients such as Nickelodeon, PBS and Disney. His crazy web developed characters have attracted world-wide recognition and can often be spotted popping up on t-shirts around the globe.
Noah Z. Jones' ability to change styles both digitally on the computer and to more traditional pencil drawings demonstrates an unusual stylistic versatility. His books with Candlewick Press, NOT NORMAN, THE MONSTER IN THE BACKPACK, WELCOME TO THE BED AND BISCUIT, and THOSE SHOES-- each with a different author -- show his ability to approach every story with a fresh eye.
In addition to his work on children's books, Noah Z. Jones divides his time between creative collaborations with commercial clients and developing his own odd collection of characters, ideas and all-around lunacy.
Princess Pink pays another wacky visit to the Land of Fake-Believe. This time she encounters some slimy car salesmenpugs who stick their clients with some real lemons. Can Princess and Moldylocks make lemonade out of this situation?
Another enjoyable and clever entry in this humorous series.

This review is from: The Three Little Pugs: A Branches Book (Princess Pink and the Land of Fake-Believe #3) (Kindle Edition)
Review by Catherine, grade three. I got this book from my school library. I like it very much. This is one of my favorite series. The three little pugs own a used car lot where they cheat people by selling them real lemons instead of cars. They live in three houses - one made of drinking straws, one of fish sticks and the third of bricks of cheese. There are snakes, a tunacorn, scarredy pants wolf and a host of other weird characters. The story is fun but it is not much like the three little pigs at all.
It was such a cute book and a little remake of the 3 little pigs. Princess pink ( the main character) and her friend, Moldylockes, go to get a refund for their other friend scaredy-pants wolf. So they go to the pugs car dealership and ask for the refund, but there was a signs that said “ No refund or returns!!!”. I just think that is so clever and funny because if you get the book and see the illustrations all the cars are like dented and the windshield are broken and the pugs tried to fix with bandaids and it just makes me giggle ever time I see it. Even the plot is clever. She just jumps out of her family’s refrigerator and land in to this wild wacky world that have parodies of these classic fairytales like goldilocks and the three bears, Little red riding Hood, the three little pigs, and Jack and the beans stock. I love this book series and I hope you like it too!! 😁

**I've missed recording some over the years - and I intentionally skipped logging the vast majority of board books, picture books, early readers, and juvenile non-fiction I’ve read with my kid - so this becomes the 600th book on my Read shelf on GoodReads.**
#500 was a beautiful book by a favorite author, Barbara Kingsolver, in Dec 2018 the year before my child was born. #600 is a goofy almost graphic novel from the kids room, book 3 in a 4-book series that we intentionally read out of order because my kid liked the cover art for book 4 better. Quite a shift since the way I was reading seven years ago!
My six and a half year old son is a big fan of Princess Pink. We've read all the books, and so far, this is my least favorite. It still is laugh out loud funny in parts, but my son didn't get the whole thing about the pugs selling Scaredy-Pants Wolf a lemon. He did love seeing Princess use her karate, though!
Read this one to my two 7 year olds, who helped read some of the pages. A winner for that age group. They found it hilarious and it was the perfect chapter book to read aloud/ read along with a 1st grader as the length was not intimidating. This series is really fun.
I liked this book, but still I didn't think that the writing was that good. And my sister loves it. And it's pretty funny to kids. So I guess it's a good thing that kids like it. But I' So I guess it's okay.
If you enjoyed the previous books, you'll probably love this one as well. This isn't my kind of series (a little too on the silly side) but my kids can't get enough. They are 5, 7, and 8 and love them!
This series is really funny. Princess goes through the refrigerator again and has to help Big Bad Wolf get his money back from used car salesmen, the Three Little Pugs 🤣. My six year old loves these books.
Princess Pink falls into the Land of Fake Believe, where this time she meets the Three Little Pugs. They run a used car lot, and sell literal lemons to their customers.
Mixed up fairy tales, puns, and awesome drawings make this series a fan favorite with my four year old!
My 6 year old daughter LOVED this fractured fairytale! Fantastic! Outlandish! So creative! Perfect for the unbiased, super creative, anything is possible mind of a young child!
The Land of Fake-Believe is a creative and silly story about a girl named Princess Pink who takes late-night trips through the refrigerator with her spider friend into the Land of Fake-Believe. In the Land of Fake-Believe, Princess encounters characters such as Humpty Dumpty, Moldylocks, Scaredy-Pants Wolf, and the Three Little Pugs. One day, the Three Little Pugs conned the wolf by selling him a lemon instead of a van. Princess Pink tries to get the money back by knocking down the three houses using her karate moves. The houses were made of sticks, bricks, and straws. This story is an engaging story for children because it puts a zany twist on the classic stories of the three little pigs. It also references Goldilocks. Students are able to explore and tap into their creative imaginations as Princess Pink takes on many adventures. Students can follow up with this story by creating their own twist on a classic story. They can also complete a creative writing assignment about their personal Land of Make-Believe and what it would include. This is a good story to include in a classroom library to read during independent reading time. If a student enjoys this book, they will also enjoy Moldylocks and the Three Beards or Little Red Quacking Hood.
Princess Pink is not a princess and she does not like the color pink, but she is a spunky little girl with a secret pet spider and a love for karate. She also has a magical refrigerator magnet which takes her through a porthole into the land of Fake-Believe. In this episode, she goes into the fridge looking for a midnight snack for her pet spider and ends up in a battle with the three little pugs. The pugs are used car salesmen who have sold the residents of Fake-Believe lemons instead of cars… real lemons! And with a strict no money back clause, they can’t do anything about it. Princess Pink chases the pugs down and convinces them to sell lemonade instead of used cars. They make a load of money and thank her with lemon pie, which she brings home for her pet spider. http://julianaleewriter.com/the-cybil...
Princess Pink is not your typical fairy tale princess. She hates pink and prefers karate and hanging with her spider friend. She also has a magical magnet from Mother Moose that turns her fridge into a portal to the Land of Fake Believe. There she runs into her friend Moldylocks (her hair is green) and finds out that the troublesome used car salesmen, the three little pugs, have been selling lemons. Princess Pink helps out. Really cute and funny retelling of the classic three little pigs story. Combination of prose and graphic novel, the funny illustrations add to the story and humor. My favorite was the pugs' SUV license plate that read "PugLife".
I didn't like this one as much as the previous two, but I think kids that like the series will still dig it. I do like the questions at the end of the book to further comprehension. I also like that the interest level is listed as 1st and 2nd grade and reading level as 2nd grade. So much better than the standard 6-10 or 8-12, which is just not helpful. Or some nebulous number that means something different across publishing companies. This is much easier for parents looking for appropriate leveled books for their kids or librarians helping those parents.
