Some very similar information to the Anne Budd books, but I think there's a bit more in here overall. I do take issue with all the body shaping being done at the side seams of the piece, and of course they're all knit flat and seamed afterwards. This can be a good thing, but I'm fond of knitting in the round for wool yarns; I'd consider doing flat for fulled yarns or alpaca or silk which could do with the support seams add.
How many times have you liked a sweater but thought ..I wish it had a different neckline, or shorter sleeves.. or a button front..well this is the book that makes those wishes come true.
6000..yes 6000 interchangeable options will update and modernise your knitting patterns and give you exactly the look you are looking for.
The sizes are from XS - 4X so every body is catered for. Whatever your specific requirements this book will have the answer. It is absolutely genius.
There are nine sections. You choose your front, sleeve, neckline, add pockets, collars and edgings and off you go.
This is definitely a book for the serious knitter. It is easy to understand and all instructions are clear and simply explained. It really is the book we have all been waiting for.
Clear, concise, and well organized! Once you understand how the charts work and with a teeny bit of simple math, there's no excuse to flub your hand knit pullovers anymore. Assumes some knitting knowledge, or that you're an intrepid beginner. Melissa Leapman has authored numerous knitting books and this book belongs on your reference shelf!
Excellent book to create your own sweaters. Also useful to help with the maths to modify a sweater pattern. This copy was from the library, I'll be purchasing this to keep on hand.
