This one didn’t start really well… MMC is a s3x club owner (who pet his employee’s ass… charming), utter manwh0re and no attraction to the MFC at first (well, expect for a quickie because he is bored 😑)
If it had been any other author I would have stopped for all those clichés, but I have been following this author since her beginning so I gave it a go.
Now, it didn’t work for me.
There is absolutely zero crazy chemistry.
The guy f*** her probably like he did all the previous ones! When she realised he has a pierced 🍆 he said “just for you baby” yeah sure bro 🙄🙄
There was absolutely nothing that made her different that the other ones. And that’s the only thing that can redeem a playboy IMO… you know the “I never bring women to my home” “I have never spent the night…” but here nothing and then pif paf pouf the guy thinks he is in love (emphasise on “think” because the guy is clueless)
The book has basically everything I don’t enjoy: playboy, no chemistry, dumb third part break up and BDSM shit.
It was basically 50 shades meet Mafia.
The twins were the best part of the book.

The wait was worth it! I loved Roman and Violet. Her sisters were a handful at times but what can I say....they are 18 year old twins. (double trouble)
I love the way Roman's family took in Violet and her sisters and treated them like family.

That is just one example of the banter between Roman and Violet, and believe me, there's a lot more! This alone should be enough to pique your interest in Lord of Pain, Arianna Fraser's latest book in The Bratva Lords Series, featuring Roman Morozov and Violet Monroe. There are some SPOILERS ahead, but read it anyway!
Now for the meet cute: Roman, Bratva Vor to his brother, Dmitri, who he jokingly refers to as Pakhan Junior, are at a boring fundraiser in Manhattan with their family, when he takes notice of an attractive server who shows a flirtatious interest in him. Not one to pass up an opportunity for a romanitc tryst, he follows her out a side door. Much to Roman's disappointment, the waitress is none other than Violet, who has a completely diferent proposition; she wants to hire him for a hit! Violet gives Roman her number and begs him to contact her so she can explain why she wants him to carry out this deadly request.
Roman surprises Violet with a visit to Hope House, the community center and shelter she establishsed after earning her master's in social work. Violet beieves her stepfather, Jack, murdered her father so he could take over his executive position in their company, and because he was having an affair with her mother. Also, she doesn't trust him around her twin sisters, Iris and Rose, who have escaped their their toxic home environment to come live with her. Roman has done some digging on his own, and he informs Violet that Jack is also under investigation for tax fraud, multiple domestic violence charges, and a sizeable gambling debt. To help settle the debt, her stepfather plans to arrange marriages for her and the twins to wealthy men (nicknamed "The Chads") from his company and country club. There's a corporate retreat the following month, and he insists that she and sisters attend, but Violet is sure something bad is going to happen. Violet tells Roman she will give him her entire inheritance if he performs the hit, but he tells her to hire a private detective and walks away.
Not one to be deterred by Roman's rejection, Violet sneaks into Sinful Secrets, his sex club. Yes, our Bratva hottie owns a sex club! He's outraged and intrigued when he immediately recognizes Violet even though she's wearing a black lace face mask. He takes her on a "tour" to gauge her to the club's activities, but Vioet is more interested in Roman listening to the latest threat against her and the twins. She explains that one of "The Chads" lured her into having lunch with him with the promise of a generous donation to Hope House. Instead, he confirmed her fear that she and her sisters were going to be "sold" into marriages arranged by their stepfather, and there would be serious consequences if they refused. Realizing how desperate Violet is to save her sisters, Roman finally agrees to making the hit on Jack.
However, what should have been a routine hit, didn't go according to plan. There's more to this situation than Roman thought when his hit is unexpectedly interrupted by gunfire. The Morozov Bratva has many enemies, and not only are they being attacked, but Violet appears to be a target as well. These latest attacks don't appear to be random, so what is the connection to Violet?
To ensure the safety of Violet and the twins, Roman takes them to live at his home. He doesn't know it yet, but his life will never be the same! He is captivated by Violet's intelligence, devotion to her sisters, and compassionate nature. Furthermore, he accepts Iris and Rose into his life, but does little to discourage their antics! Violet sees the man beneath his cold Bratva exterior and designer suits, and she comes to understand that not everyone can be defined as good vs. bad. There are gray areas in between and it's important to find a balance between the two worlds you are living in, and either accept the choices you make, or reject them and walk away.

She write stories that you'll want to revisit and read again Yes, there's always gunfire, explosions, extreme violence, and death, but that's to be expected in this genre. However, there's also laugh out loud humor, sexy times, really hot men and the women they love and will go to the ends of the earth to protect. At the heart of each story is the solid foundation of family, honoring traditions, sacrifices, love, and loyalty. You will love Roman, Violet, and an amazing cast of characters who round out this wonderful book!

Violet was set on that she needed to get rid of her stepfather Jack that she hired Roman,he said no but she didn't take it .She made it so he would have too take the job.This story was so good but sad because their was deaths that were senseless and people that people that were seriously hurt like Roman's baby brother that turn him to a bitter man.By Roman meeting Violet changed his output on his life for the better! This story had some surprises, heart ache and love!

These two are chaos in the best way. Dark, spicy, and alllll the sparks!
Roman is all the red flags, including being an owner of a very private spicy club where members can learn/participate/watch anything you can imagine.
But Violet and him are perfect together and if you enjoy mafia romance with a protective dirty talking mmc then you need to pick up this book.

I have been reading everything this woman puts out! Her banter between the MC is always a fun read. Her FMCs are always little hellions and sassy. Her MMCs are swoon-worthy and make for great book boyfriend material.

Violet is not the innocent and squirmy type. She’s feisty, intelligent and smart. Letting her twin sisters to be harmed by powerful men is not in her nature. I’m always amazed by how Arianna brings men that are so powerful to be the best lovers and caring human. Must be just me, but she changed the whole genre by her amazing characters and beautiful love stories. And don’t worry, love triumph every single time. Because at the end, history told us that no one should be alone in this world until you meet the only person that will make you believe true love really exists ❤️

Violet, determined to protect herself and her twin sisters from a terrible fate, goes straight to Roman for help, a Bratva hitman who lives in a dark, dangerous world and is not easily convinced, but she is persistent, strong, and impossible to ignore… and once he gives in, everything spirals into a story full of twists, secrets, and betrayal 🔥 Their connection is intense, obsessive, and completely addictive, with Roman’s dark lifestyle adding that edge that makes you blush and gasp 😳!! Oh, my God!!! Is that even possible??? An intriguing premise, but the execution just didn’t land for me. The hero being introduced as a jaded club-owning playboy who casually objectifies the people working for him made it very hard to root for him later. His sudden shift toward the heroine felt unconvincing, especially since the story never really shows why she’s different from the many women he’s supposedly burned through before. The chemistry felt flat, and the emotional progression jumped from indifference to “love” without enough development to make it believable.
The book leans heavily on tropes like the commitment-phobic bad boy, a forced third-act breakup, and heavy-handed edgy elements that felt more like shock value than meaningful character depth. Instead of tension, a lot of the relationship dynamics felt repetitive and superficial. The darker themes and power dynamics might work for some readers, but here they didn’t feel balanced by genuine emotional connection.

I was disappointed a bit as I didn't find this as good as the 1st book.
I did enjoy the characters but the story itself felt a bit 2 dimensional around all the smutty scenes. There were also a few things introduced in the book that the author didn't quite close the gap on.
My biggest gripe was the MMC's obsession with the temperature of the FMC'S bodily orifices.
Seriously, is he cold blooded? Does he need heat to survive? I only started counting from 50% and here are some examples: hot, blazing hot, volcanic, heat, heated, molten.
It was so distracting that I, honestly, just skimmed through those scenes.
Also, there was a random thought that the FMC had, "...flashing those even, white (but not bleached) teeth.". She mentioned his teeth earlier as well. Quite random.
I would definitely read Alexey's book when it is released. Hopefully the obsession with molten holes skipped him.
Series: Can be read as a standalone in an interconnected series

Oh Girls!!! This book will make you laugh, and get a little hot under that collar in such a good way!!!. Arianna you have hit it out of the park with this book. I loved every single moment of this book from the very first page. Who doesn't get hooked when a woman approaches the hottie Bratva Vor and try to hire him to kill her Step Father. The intensity between this couple kept me hanging onto the edge of my seat all the way through. This couple are so a match they make you laugh as they try to one-up each other while they are busy falling for each other, and then you add in the quirky family and it is the perfect match for the laughter, action, and heartbreaking intensity that will keep you hooked all the way through. I highly recommend this read and now I am so anxiously waiting to see what journey Arianna has planned for us with the brother!!!

Although this is only my second book by this author, it quickly became my favorite.
Thank you Arriana, now all my desires have been satisfied. The book had everything I wrote in the review of the first volume. More blood, more violence.... beautiful. Thank you again. I simply enjoy this.
Again, the titles of the individual chapters, original and funny. The chapters, very funny, Violet, a little naive and ignorant, but she was funny, and again the thought processes are top and she and Romane fit together perfectly. There were also lots of funny moments with the twins.
I'm looking forward to Alexsey when his turn comes and actually the others who appeared here and there...
Hell, I would like to meet one of whoever was mentioned in the book 🤭

Again, the titles of the individual chapters, original and funny. The chapters, very funny, Violet, a little naive and ignorant, but she was funny, and again the thought processes are top and she and Romane fit together perfectly. There were also lots of funny moments with the twins.
I'm looking forward to Alexsey when his turn comes and actually the others who appeared here and there...
Hell, I would like to meet one of whoever was mentioned in the book 🤭
I have no choice but to start the previous series as well.

I absolutely love this Bratva family. The men all respect the women completely. I was a little nervous as Roman owns a s$x club but there was nothing to fear … nothing at all about other women brought up on page.
Violet is fierce and she needs help … and she will go after what she needs. Every twist and turn she is on her toes and takes everything in stride.
And the side characters.. her twin sisters have me rolling. The poor security guards and dealing with their antics.
Romans family … Violets ‘mom’ and step man … her best friend .. her shelter .. the guards … so many characters that all add to this story.
I can’t wait for the next one.

Damn, Roman was hot! I think I loved him from the moment he plucked out Jack’s eyeball. 😂 I can’t believe Violet never suspected that her sisters were criminal masterminds. They went to catholic school, of course they were! The conversations between Roman and Violet had me laughing out loud at points. I think I might like Roman better than Dimitri. I mean when Violet found out they were already married, that sneaky bastard, that was fantastic. The Chads were aptly named and as douche bro as you would think they are. I did not see Larry’s betrayal, what an ass. I’m glad he got what he deserved. I can’t wait to read Alexsey’s book. Also I got very intrigued by Nikandr and Andrey. I think their books will also be amazing!

I’ve been loving this author’s dark mafia romances, so I couldn’t wait to dive into Roman’s story and it definitely didn’t disappoint! Violet is such a strong FMC, and I admired how fiercely she protects her sisters no matter the cost. I won’t say too much because you really need to experience it for yourself, but just know this is one you don’t want to miss. Roman and Violet’s story delivers action, humor, a tight knit family dynamic, and plenty of seriously hot spice.

This one hooked me pretty quickly and had several twists and turns that some I could see coming and others that blindsided me. Well written and story well thought out. FMC was a strong lead that was helped by the MMC. Spice factor was good with a bit of BDSM but not overly spicy.

2.75⭐️ I didn’t love this book as much as Dmitri’s. The whole 50 Shades meets Bratva really didn’t do it for me. It was difficult to keep my attention focused on what I was reading. I kept on reading for the twins. Iris and Rose were a handful. I really hope they get their own book because they cracked me up.
