This one didn’t start really well… MMC is a s3x club owner (who pet his employee’s ass… charming), utter manwh0re and no attraction to the MFC at first (well, expect for a quickie because he is bored 😑)
If it had been any other author I would have stopped for all those clichés, but I have been following this author since her beginning so I gave it a go.
Now, it didn’t work for me.
There is absolutely zero crazy chemistry.
The guy f*** her probably like he did all the previous ones! When she realised he has a pierced 🍆 he said “just for you baby” yeah sure bro 🙄🙄
There was absolutely nothing that made her different that the other ones. And that’s the only thing that can redeem a playboy IMO… you know the “I never bring women to my home” “I have never spent the night…” but here nothing and then pif paf pouf the guy thinks he is in love (emphasise on “think” because the guy is clueless)
The book has basically everything I don’t enjoy: playboy, no chemistry, dumb third part break up and BDSM shit.
It was basically 50 shades meet Mafia.
The twins were the best part of the book.

The wait was worth it! I loved Roman and Violet. Her sisters were a handful at times but what can I say....they are 18 year old twins. (double trouble)
I love the way Roman's family took in Violet and her sisters and treated them like family.

This story had some surprises, heart ache and love!

This alone should be enough to pique your interest in Lord of Pain, Arianna Fraser's latest book in The Bratva Lords Series, featuring Roman Morozov and Violet Monroe. There are some SPOILERS ahead, but read it anyway!
Now for the meet cute: Roman, Bratva Vor to his brother, Dmitri, who he jokingly refers to as Pakhan Junior, are at a boring fundraiser in Manhattan with their family, when he takes notice of an attractive server who shows a flirtatious interest in him. Not one to pass up an opportunity for a romanitc tryst, he follows her out a side door. Much to Roman's disappointment, the waitress is none other than Violet, who has a completely diferent proposition; she wants to hire him for a hit! Violet gives Roman her number and begs him to contact her so she can explain why she wants him to carry out this deadly request.
Roman surprises Violet with a visit to Hope House, the community center and shelter she establishsed after earning her master's in social work. Violet beieves her stepfather, Jack, murdered her father so he could take over his executive position in their company, and because he was having an affair with her mother. Also, she doesn't trust him around her twin sisters, Iris and Rose, who have escaped their their toxic home environment to come live with her. Roman has done some digging on his own, and he informs Violet that Jack is also under investigation for tax fraud, multiple domestic violence charges, and a sizeable gambling debt. To help settle the debt, her stepfather plans to arrange marriages for her and the twins to wealthy men (nicknamed "The Chads") from his company and country club. There's a corporate retreat the following month, and he insists that she and sisters attend, but Violet is sure something bad is going to happen. She write stories that you'll want to revisit and read again Yes, there's always gunfire, explosions, extreme violence, and death, but that's to be expected in this genre. However, there's also laugh out loud humor, sexy times, really hot men and the women they love and will go to the ends of the earth to protect. At the heart of each story is the solid foundation of family, honoring traditions, sacrifices, love, and loyalty. You will love Roman, Violet, and an amazing cast of characters who round out this wonderful book!

And in the wake of that, he will find out that not falling for this woman will be is mistake. Second book in the Bratva Lord series by Arianna Fraser. And if you loves Lachlan MacTavish is the previous series The Stolen Brides, you will be in heaven 😍 Yes Roman is unhinged, possessive, control freaks but when it comes to family, he will burn the whole world down. Violet is not the innocent and squirmy type. She’s feisty, intelligent and smart. Letting her twin sisters to be harmed by powerful men is not in her nature. I’m always amazed by how Arianna brings men that are so powerful to be the best lovers and caring human. Must be just me, but she changed the whole genre by her amazing characters and beautiful love stories. And don’t worry, love triumph every single time. Because at the end, history told us that no one should be alone in this world until you meet the only person that will make you believe true love really exists ❤️

This is book two in the series, and I’m definitely noticing a pattern. The titles are exactly what they promise - so far, both book one and book two match their MMCs perfectly!
This story delivers a mix of humor, spice, angst, and emotional weight. There are some wicked twists, plenty of chaos, and a satisfying HEA.
And Roman Morozov? Untouchable. Nothing could lower my opinion of him. He’s the full package - dark, dangerous, intelligent, a Dom, and a fantastic sense of humor. Honestly, this might be the first time I’ve read an MMC who does everything right.
Words from Roman Morozov:
"Imagine the freedom of being bound so tightly, only able to take what's given to you."
"If you're in that moment and you're forced to sh**t," he'd said, "don’t show your hand. Keep your gun hidden until it’s time to use it. Don’t give them a chance to get it away from you."
(That is really good advice... Who could ever say we can't learn stuff from dark romances?!)
Violet, on the other hand, is sweet, polished, and a bit uptight. She’s well-educated and carries herself with a strong sense of responsibility. At first glance, she and Roman shouldn’t work - but they absolutely do. Their chemistry is effortless, the banter is sharp and genuinely funny, the tension is electric, and she manages to soften his rough edges in a way that makes him feel even more complete. That said, Violet’s “overbuilt sense of responsibility” (Roman nailed that description) can be a bit much at times. Her love for her sisters is admirable, and her protectiveness makes sense, but she does tend to baby them a little too much.
Speaking of her sisters—Iris and Rose completely stole the show. Their antics had me laughing the entire time. They kept everyone on edge, especially the poor Bratva soldiers assigned to guard them.
After reading Lord of Vengeance and Lord of Pain, I was really looking forward to Lord of Cruelty. But seeing that Alexsey is injured? Now I’m nervous going in… 👀

This one feels a touch darker than book 1. My favorite thing about this series so far is the close family dynamic. These MMCs have parents and siblings who would burn the world down for them. It's refreshing in this genre.
Roman was as intense as his older brother from book 1. He just channeled that intensity differently. He did give me the major ick at the beginning of this book. His playboy nature was not appealing at all but he did grow on me by the end. I absolutely love how much he loves his family. Violet is a great character. Her toughness and protective nature along with never being a pushover make her the perfect FMC for this world. The relationship dynamic is written well enough that it helped me get past a rough start for Roman's character.
The spice is turned up to 100. This does give multiple scenes of moderate levels of BDSM but nothing too crazy.

Violet comes from a wealthy family but spent her trust fund opening and running a non profit home for youth.
This book is insta intrigue that turned to lust, and then love.
I liked that there was some sex club stuff but never them being involved with the club. Roman is extra spicy, and has a dirty mouth.
The only thing that lacked was possibly initially feeling their connection. Jumping from list to love. But overlooking that the book was fun, spicy, had tons of action, and plot.
I’m hoping Alesky is the next book.

Loved it loved how Roman took care of violet ever. Though it was suppose to be him taking out someone for her and they fell for each other and he was protective of her and her sisiters love it highly recommended love this authors writing

I have been reading everything this woman puts out! Her banter between the MC is always a fun read. Her FMCs are always little hellions and sassy. Her MMCs are swoon-worthy and make for great book boyfriend material.

I’ve come to expect a rushed wedding in the mafia world of Ariana Fraser but this one might have been my favorite. Violet seeks out Roman to help her with her stepdad who is trying to pawn her and her 18yr old twin sisters off to some corporate colleagues. I loved how the mafia world collided with the corporate world in this story. Her sisters are a hoot and I hope they get their own stories becuase they are pure menaces and I need more of their shenanigans. This is the second generation and my favorite scenes were of violet and the whole family. I could read stories in this world forever.

Fast paced and amazing.
Roman & Violet are so good together. He needed someone to help him be human and she needed someone to make sure she could be selfish sometimes. There were parts I wanted to reach through me kindle and punch her mom in the throat so bad. I loved this book. I love the Bratva!

loveddd this. this is a newer author for me and i’ve really enjoyed both books in this series so far.
Violet had a sneaking suspicion that her step father is gearing up to sell her and her sisters off into marriages with his coworkers. obviously she’s not going to let that happen so she tried to contract Roman to kill him.
Roman isn’t an assassin, he doesn’t work outside of his family so he pretty much immediately turns her down. but after looking a little further into it, he discovering that Violet’s step father is in debt with the italians and he is actually planning to sell his daughters to clear his debt…and get a promotion.
Roman takes a special interest in Violet and her sisters. he decides to take the job and kill the step father but gets interrupted and can’t finish the job. now more determined than ever to keep Violet and her sisters safe, he moves them in to his house and assigns protection details. he’ll stop at nothing to keep them safe
