Robby Joshi, AIA, is an NCARB-certified licensed architect, urban designer, planner, and speculative fiction author whose work bridges visionary worldbuilding with real-world systems thinking. His professional experience spans townships, commercial centers, high-rises, healthcare, hospitality, technology campuses, data centers, and theme parks. With more than 25 years of experience leading complex projects from concept through construction, he has developed a deep interest in how human environments, social structures, and long-range planning shape the future of civilization.

That perspective informs his fiction. In the Eleven Elements series, Joshi blends time travel, philosophical inquiry, spiritual tension, and high-stakes suspense to explore humanity’s survival, moral evolution, and capacity to imagine a more peaceful world. A time travel expedition to 21 century Florida goes terrible wrong. Pretty good, but my head didn't hurt at the end, so that was nice.

What caught my attention about Eleven Elements: Book One: Healing Waters is the way it treats time travel as something much more complicated than simply going backward or forward in time. Max Renner isn't just trying to complete a mission he's carrying the weight of a future that may depend on what happens in the past. The ideas around memory, altered history, and consequence give the story a thoughtful layer beneath the science-fiction premise. The hidden manuscript also adds an intriguing mystery that connects the past to the future in an unexpected way.

Thought provoking

Amazing book and very thought provoking! Loved the humour with some of the leaders names. Seemed more non fiction than fiction at times. Definite must read !

Ugh this had sooo much potential! I need this to be 200 pages shorter, or at least have about 40% of it cut out and replaced with action. What I didn’t need was multiple people having the same conversation over and over again about how great and godly Joshua DeWine is. There has to be at least 100 pages of the same basic idea being touted in (sometimes, sometimes not) different words. Time traveling, sci fi, robot squirrels, saving the world, these are all compelling topics but somewhere along the lines the plot was muddied. I’d start the sequel simply because I believe this author has so much potential, they just have to cut the fat and pointless dialogue from the story and replace it with actual plot points. 400+ pages and maybe 200 pages worth of actual plot development happened.

The author did come up with a way to possibly save the earth from itself though, so that’s cool. A little lacking in nuance and acknowledgement of cultural differences, but still comprehensive and approachable.

This is book #1 of a series. It does not end in a cliffhanger. Does not have a satisfying book #1 ending.

I really like the set up. A mission immediately going wrong. In a parallel universe we meet our protagonists. This book is mostly directed at Gaia and the whole ecological system spinning towards disaster. I found it to be captivating but also a bit too slowly paced.
