I inherited my Nonna's restaurant, along with a debt to the mob I can never repay, and a baby I never meant to conceive.

Giovanni Conti walks into my kitchen like he owns it—because apparently, he does.

Underboss to Atlantic City's most powerful crime family, twenty-one years my senior, and dangerous in every way that matters.

He could take everything from me.
Instead, he makes me an work exclusively for him until the debt is paid.

I move into his penthouse world of silk sheets and blood money, cooking for hardened men who could kill, while he watches me work with an intensity that makes my skin burn, and my panties dampen.

When rival threats escalate, Giovanni moves me into his bed.
For my safety, he says.
For his pleasure, I know.

Then I discover his secret—he's been using Nonna's debt payments to keep neighborhood businesses alive, protecting people who can't protect themselves.

This brutal man has a heart buried so deep, I'm the only one who's found it.

Then the Russos grab me in retaliation for the past sins of the Contis, and Gio thinks I've betrayed him and chosen his enemy.

By the time he realizes the truth, I'm already gone.
And so is any chance our baby will know its father.

While characters may reappear, every Conti Family book is a standalone romance that can be read independently.

4.5 ⭐️/ 1/5 🌶️

This series keeps getting better and better. I read Luca 2 weeks ago, and when I saw Giovanni's book, I ran so fast! I loved the slow burn (and I mean slow 😮‍💨), but it was done beautifully, the build-up, the angst, the acceptance of feeling was just a chef's kiss. especially the food stuff, this book made me hungry lol!

If you like mafia x age-gap and surprise pregnancy, this one is definitely the one to go for!

I cannot wait to see whose book we get next!🙌🏼.

Ahhhh Giovanni, Gio......Luca's brother's story. A much anticipated read for me as I loved Book 1 in the Conti family series and couldn't wait to get my hands on this Claire Kirby book.

When Giovanni first glimpses Bianca, from a distance, at her grandmother's wake, something stirs in him. He needs to see her again!

Where his heart should be was a void. He didn't know how to love and The Family business was all he knew. Keep his family safe and keep the businesses that his Mafia family had running smoothly.

Having stepped down as the Don when Luca returned, he found he had more time on his hands, and ways to fill that time!
So to help Bianca's mother pay off her debt to him and his family, he suggests that Bianca come work for him as his personal Chef. Bianca, a well known chef, in Italy, had returned only for the funeral and he decided that he didn't want her leaving so soon.
The offer, for Bianca was a no brainer. Help her mother pay back the debt to the Conti family and then return to Italy.....Only , of course it turns out it was not that simple.
A great VERY slow burn love story between these two has you wanting more. A story that I read from start to finish.....YEH, right?! I couldn't put it down. In fact I think I may have fallen for Gio more than I loved Luca!!

Loved the push and pull between these two MC's and they too will pull you into their little love fest, starting with a kiss at Luca's dinner party that Gio gets Bianca to cater for to their loved up week in Italy!

All Mafia stories have to have some drama, right?. So when Gio and Bianca return from a quick trip to Italy to retrieve her belongings, she is kidnapped by an enemy of the Conti family.
Gio realises that he will burn his city down until he finds her....so yeh, he does have a heart after all and realises he has lost it to Bianca!

A great read by Claire Kirby worthy of 5 shining stars!

Surprises
Bianca just flew in from Florence, Italy and is now at her beloved, Nonna Sabina's funeral. Atlantic City is where it's being held and Bianca's mother, Francesca is there. he's the one who has been holding things together at the restaurant. Although, Bianca soon finds out what her mother has been holding out on her about "The Debt" that she owes. Giovanni and the Conti family !
Giovanni is not the head of the family, his brother Luca is. And he has a new fiance named Elena Pennino who is a former Federal prosecutor. She is a stabilizing influence in the family. Along with their new baby girl, Alessandra.
Giovanni has been a gentleman all along even when Francesca pays her debt regularly but also tries to stonewall him in the beginning when it comes to Bianca. Bianca continues to be a professional chef, playing her part coolly until she starts to have sweaty dreams about Giovanni. Then things do start to heat up. But still Giovanni continues to give Bianca choices. He doesn't push but does silently seduce with his attentiveness to her and paying attention to what she likes. Giovanni is sweet but also fierce and I l liked that.
There is a LOT about foods and wines because of course she is a chef. Most I never heard of or tasted but the author does pay attention to details as well. The different places and locations are also painted well too !
When the two of them finally make it to a bed, things get EXTREMELY heated and detailed. A little less would have been better for me. But I did like that there were so many good sides to this man and his family.
There is plenty of tension and fear when Bianca gets taken and she's not really sure that Giovanni cares enough to come for her. And what if he does?
Good ending and Epilogue.

Giovanni Conti and Bianca Marcelli’s story completely stole my heart. I’ve enjoyed the Conti world from the beginning—Luca and Elena’s book was wonderful—but this age‑gap romance between Gio and Bianca (or Mia, as he calls her) hit a deeper, more emotional note for me. Bianca has been living in Florence, building a life she loves, far from the complicated dynamics of her family. But when her beloved Nonna Sabina passes away, she returns home expecting only a brief visit to say goodbye. What she doesn’t expect is for her entire future to be rewritten. Nonna’s will leaves her Regalia—the family’s treasured restaurant—and Sabina’s house, placing Bianca at the center of responsibilities she never asked for and choices she never imagined making. The emotional tension is beautifully layered. Bianca is torn between the independence she’s built in Florence and the legacy her Nonna clearly wanted her to carry on. And then there’s Giovanni Conti—steady, enigmatic, and far more entangled in the Marcelli family than Bianca ever realized. Their chemistry is undeniable, but what makes their connection compelling is the quiet tenderness beneath it, the sense that both of them are fighting feelings they don’t quite know how to handle.
The turning point comes when Bianca overhears her mother and Giovanni whispering about debts—hinting at secrets, obligations, and a web of family issues that pull her even deeper into the world she thought she’d left behind. It adds a layer of intrigue that makes the romance feel even more earned, because Bianca and Gio aren’t just navigating attraction—they’re navigating loyalty, legacy, and the weight of the past. This story blends emotional depth, family drama, and slow‑burn romantic tension in a way that feels both intimate and sweeping. It’s a beautiful addition to the series and easily one of my favorites.

Actually rating this 2.75 ⭐️ because I was disappointed in this second book after loving the first one.

Story first:
Bianca is an American working as a chef in Italy who comes home for her grandmother’s funeral. At the reading of the will, she finds out she has inherited her grandmother’s restaurant. A restaurant that has a debt to the Conti family. Giovanni is the Conti that owns the debt. Once he meets Bianca he’s enthralled and hatch’s a plan to have her become his personal chef. They then fall into an affair.

My challenges with this book:
1. The blurb talks about a pregnancy so I expected that to happen right away. It did not.
2. While the sex is hot and spicy between Giovanni this is a literal wine and Italian cooking story. Don’t get me wrong, it was interesting but not what I was expecting.
3. I love a mafia romance with that danger that happens to make the story interesting. Ummmm no. The danger happened in the last 10% of the book. So unequally balanced. Cause we spent more time at the vineyard than we did watching them decimate an enemy.
4. Also, the violence was 1-2-3 set up and easily resolved but off because it was simplistic.
5. Mmmmm when we finally get to the pregnancy, I know some women can tell right away that they’re pregnant. Most cannot so her knowing after three weeks was SO unrealistic. That’s what put the nail in the coffin for this book for me.

Now I have to decide if I want to read more in this series because this one let me down so badly.

Bianca is back from Italy for her Nonna's funeral. Everything is the same as when she left, except of course her Nonna is gone. Now though she finds herself torn, left not only her Nonna's home but also the restaurant. Why. Why wasn't it left to her mama, its what's she'd expected. Could she really stay in the States, could she leave the job she loved. Then she discovers the debt her mama owes. A debt not to a bank, but to the one family everyone knows The Conti's. Now she has to stay, she has to help her mama. Giovanni sees her in the crowd, she stands out above all others. Now she's sat in front of him in her restaurants office discussing a debt owed. When really all he wants is her. This is a story that follows on from Luca's, except now and old enemy is after vengeance. Can Gio really trust Bianca. Now she's keeping a secret that could change everything. I loved the first book, but this story takes it to another level. I really hope to have stories for the remaining brothers too.

This is the second book in the Conti family series.

Now that Luca is back to being the family's Don, Giovanni (Gio) can step down from running the family business, and start his conquest of Bianca. He met her at her grandmother's funeral, and was attracted to her at first sight. Bianca has just arrived from Italy and learns that she has inherited her grandma's estate, she also learns that the estate is compromised due to debt her mom has accrued with the Contis. Gio sees a chance to have Bianca close by, and decides to have her work in his kitchen to pay his debt.
Here is where this couple shines, in their banter, in their insights, in their tension. HE has just dealt with his ex and his child, but nothing will stop to get Bianca. When she finally opens up to him and the passionate encounters cement their relationship, but then his enemies come to haunt him and take her , be ready for him turn the world to find her,

OH so so good!

Book 2 in the Conti Family Mafia Series by Claire Kirby.

This just gets better and better. I have to say that the mafia books are becoming my favorite books by Claire Kirby!

Giovanni falls for Bianca when he first sees her and needs her around him all the time. The perfect solution is to help her pay off her family debt and he does this by letting her work for him.

Bianca is so overwhelmed with finding herself torn between her life she has built and the life she now has owning her nonna’s restaurant. Knowing she can’t leave her mom to pay the debt the family owes on her own, Bianca stays to help.

I can’t wait to see what Claire Kirby gives us next!

Brilliant age-gap mafia romance

This is a brilliant, emotional and well written story. It's got a heartwarming slow-burn mafia romance, engaging characters, spicy scenes, twists and a lovely HEA. A great read, following on from "LUCA"; though I feel this is even better and have really enjoyed reading it.

When Bianca comes back from Italy for her Nonna's funeral she finds she's inherited her home and restaurant. When she finds out about her mother's debt to the Conti family she realises why she was left the properties and knows she needs to stay to help her mum.

Giovanni Conti, Luca's brother, had seen her at the wake and when he goes to speak with Bianca about the debt her mum owes he realises what he really wants is her. His suggestion is that she work as his personal chef to pay the debt. But no mafia story ever runs smoothly.

This pair are really well matched and I loved the banter between them.

Book 2 of The Conti Family Series. Can be read as a standalone.

'I inherited my Nonna's restaurant, along with a debt to the mob I can never repay, and a baby I never meant to conceive.'

The plot was intriguing and intense and well paced. World building continues to excel and impress. The characters drove the storyline and they were very compelling and complex and complicated and perfectly steamy together. All in all a great addition to the series. Enjoyed immensely and highly recommend.

Grab a copy, kick back and enjoy!.

Giovanni is a fantastic read and one that creates a better 2nd story than the first. Gio first sees Bianca at her grandmother's wake. Her Nona leaves the restaurant to her mom with a debt to the mob that is too high to be able to repay. Gio has time on his hand since he stepped down so he offers to help Bianca out by hiring her to be his personal chef. All she wants to do is return to Italy where she's a chef. Of course Gio won't let her go however when they return from a trip Bianca is kidnapped and its at that point that Gio realizes that Bianca is it for him and he'll burn the whole world down for her.

Fantastic read!!! What's next? Can it top Giovanni? Can't wait to find out.

awesome

Second book in the Conti series. This is Giovanni and Bianca’s story.
The intimacy and love between these two was off the charts. Gio is Luca’s brother, who ran the family while Luca was incarcerated.
This book had to do a lot around restaurants and cooking because Bianca is a Chef.
There was so much written about food preparation and menus and wine pairings, that I did find myself skimming over those sections. It seemed more like word filling than actual storyline. I mean over the top food descriptions. One entire chapter was about food.
The rest of the story was well written and well developed.
Looking forward to the next book in the series.

This is Book 2 in The Conti Family Series by this author, and can be read as a standalone. It is an age gap, mafia romance between chef Bianca and underboss Giovanni. These flawed but likeable characters and the unique plot make for an intense read. It is a love story with drama and steam, danger and intrigue, sexual tension and chemistry, and twists and turns, plus appealing secondary characters. An emotional ride.

Debt Owed

Bianca has returned home for grandmother’s funeral and helps her mom with the restaurant but a huge debt is owed to the mob. When Giovanni comes to collect she becomes his personal chef. A series of circumstances that bind them together in ways they both did not expect. This story was captivating and exciting. Each chapter progressed into a climax that was uniquely enjoyable. What a fun read!.

This book is better read when not on an empty stomach. The delicious food takes over the story and also unites the MCs. The MCs manage to get some other food and non-food-related excitements. Towards the end, a danger steps to the door. A fast wrap-up to the story with a happy ending.
Coincidentally, I got some Italian food.

She flies in from Italy for her grandmother's funeral and discovers that she inherited the restaurant and the debt. He is not the head of the mafia, his brother is, but he meets her and says she has to pay the debt. They are attracted to each other, things move quickly in their relationship, plus rival gangs, all this plus so much more, made for an enthralling read, loved it!.

Giovanni was scary in the beginning, but then you realize he does have a heart. He loves his family and he's fascinated by Bianca. She takes the job as his Chef and she sees a different side of him and she tries to fight the feelings that she has for him. The descriptions of Italy are fabulous. A rival family causes trouble for the Conti family. Never a dull moment in this book it is amazing!

Good book, but....

The book was good. The
author is a wordsmith and drew me in. But, then; the ending was rushed as if the author wanted to hurry the story because she was tired of writing. I was so disappointed in the ending!

This is my first book from Claire Kirby and it will not be my last. I definitely have to go back and read the first book in the series. Giovanni and Bianca had a slow burn romance but the spice between them was amazing. The story was well done and I was so invested. I really look forward to more from this author!
