My Battlefield: A Life Broken and Made Whole
“I feel it’s necessary to disclose certain details of my story so readers can begin to grasp how completely God can change people, how deeply He can reach into a damaged soul and restore it, and how thoroughly He can heal a broken heart. He can take a life shattered in every way and make it whole and strong. He can take people who have lived in misery and fill them with joy and peace.” - From the Introduction Joyce Meyer was born into poverty in the rural Midwest of the 1940’s. She spent her childhood in a home deformed by her father’s relentless rage and the horrific sexual abuse she suffered at his hands. Yet it was from these dismal beginnings that she emerged as a pioneering figure, becoming the first modern woman to lead a global Christian ministry, investing her life in helping others, raising a loving family, and creating a legacy of hope and healing that will live on well beyond the span of her extraordinary life. Her story is a living testament to God’s ability to transform and redeem even the most damaged among us. My Battlefield tells this story with the same unflinching honesty, determined faith, and surprising humor that has characterized Joyce’s teaching over the last five decades. For every heart-breaking story we read about a childhood characterized by darkness and shame, about years of bitterness and anger as she struggled to learn how to trust in the goodness of God and others, we also read amazing stories of God’s unique hand on her life. We watch a life that was desecrated and destroyed be redeemed, healed, and called to do work that has brought light to millions of other lives. Joyce invites you to experience both the pain and the miracle of her story in My Battlefield. "My sole motivation for writing this book is to convey to people who have been hurt, abused, damaged, or broken in some way that no matter how horrendous the situation was or how long it lasted, God can redeem it. If He can transform my life as completely as He has, He can transform yours completely too."

I have been following "Mama Joyce" for over 30 years. I was born and raised a Catholic and still attend mass "on occasion" but my deep relationship with God must be credited to Joyce's teachings. She made me want to study the bible and it a FANTASTIC teacher. Her practical stories hit home with everyone. This book holds so many stories she has shared over the years but goes into much more detail. I LOVED it. Don't skip the end Acknowledgments and closing credits! They are beautiful.

I appreciated a glimpse into the life of Joyce Meyer. This book was just like her personality - straight, to the point, and didn't mince words. She was open, honest and let the reader know the truth in love. I was struck by the hardships she endured as a child and equally impressed with her forgiveness journey and the obedience to our Heavenly Father to care for her parents in their older years. She admitted it wasn't easy but she obeyed God. I love how she walked us through her spiritual journey - developing a relationship with Jesus Christ and being baptized in the Holy Spirit. I love how she talked about how forgiveness is for us ... and how obedience isn't always fun, but necessary. There were so many great insights I gleaned from this book and all the while enjoyed the glimpse into her life - then and now.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book by Netgalley to read and was not obligated to review. All opinions are strictly mine.

I received a free copy of, My Battlefield, by Joyce Meyer, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This is the story of Joyce Meyer, which is not always pleasant, she has gone through it, but has come out the other side, with God on her side. This was an interesting read.

This is an easy to read story. The whole time I had some women in mind in my family that I will give this book to, for them to read. Im not a fan of life stories but I love to try things out. This book isnt sad or whiny. It's relatable even to someone who isnt going or had gone her life. Because it is the universal human experience.

Powerful and even more transparent than Joyce has been at her conferences. She goes deeper and as she repeats over and over, if Christ can change her after s childhood she had, He can change anyone.
Her continued willingness and boldness gives hope to all especially those with abuse in their background.
Highly recommend

I spent the last two days devouring this book. I have watched Joyce over the years sporadically with my dad before he passed. I always heard about her upbringing and the abuse she has to endure. I used to wish that I could be able to read her life story and I'm so happy that I did.

I have been so inspired and comforted by Joyce’s teachings for years. There are certain things I knew about her life, but I didn’t know the details or the depth of the events until she shared them here. This was a wonderful memoir!

Joyce Meyer opens her life and heart in this beautifully written autobiography. Joyce took sensitive topics, sexual abuse and incest, and lead the reader through her personal journey. It left me, a sexual assault and abuse victim, with hope and peace.
