The single dad sergeant is shirtless and terrifying.
He just claimed me in front of the whole club.
The ad said "temporary nanny," not "live-in girl for a tattooed beast."
Shane Gunnar is the storm I can’t escape.
His daughter is sunshine, but Shane is pure, rigid power.
When a stranger flirts with me, the room turns to ice.
Shane hauls me against his leather cut and tells everyone I’m his girl now.
He presses his patch to my skin and growls that it’s never coming off.
The job was supposed to be temporary.
How do I walk away when the Sergeant at Arms has already branded me as his?
This is a scorching single dad MC mountain man novella you can binge in a couple of hours—expect opposites attract, public claiming, and a gruff biker who turns “my daughter’s nanny” into “my woman” and never looks back.
This Motorcycle Club love story is a stand-alone romance set in Rica Lane’s interconnected small town of Pine Valley, the perfect place to find your next book boyfriend!
He claims her in public, and the mountain never forgets.
Bianca comes to Pine Valley for a paycheck and a clean escape from the chaos she leaves behind in the city. What she finds instead is a fortress in the woods, a grieving little girl who needs warmth, and a Sergeant at Arms who watches the world like it’s a threat. Shane is control wrapped in leather, a single dad who enforces territory for the Broken Halos MC and doesn’t tolerate weakness under his roof. She’s hired as a nanny, but nothing about this feels temporary.
The attraction is instant and volatile. Every look feels like a challenge, every touch like a line being crossed. When another man tests his patience in town, Shane answers with a public claim that shifts everything between them. In one heated moment, she stops being temporary and becomes his. The mountain watches as danger edges closer.
The deeper Bianca steps into his world, the clearer the stakes become. Loving a man like Shane means accepting the patch, the protection, and the fire that comes with him. She doesn’t run. She chooses him. What begins as obsession hardens into loyalty, trust, and something strong enough to stand on.
Bianca grows from a cornered city girl into a woman who claims her place and builds a life on her own terms. Shane shifts from a grief hardened enforcer who survives on control to a man who lets love exist alongside strength. Together, they turn possession into partnership and devotion.
An ultra-steamy single dad mountain man romance where a nanny walks into small town danger and chooses to stay, and a possessive MC enforcer turns protection into lifelong devotion. It’s about stepping into the storm instead of hiding from it, about control learning to live with love, and about two wounded people forging belonging and sanctuary inside a world built on territory and fire.
The Elevator Pitch: A struggling artist takes a temporary nanny job in a remote mountain town and finds herself face to face with a scarred motorcycle club enforcer who guards his daughter and his territory with equal ferocity. When he claims her in front of the entire town, what begins as intense attraction turns into a high stakes choice between safety and belonging. In a world ruled by loyalty and lines drawn in blood, love becomes a vow neither of them can afford to break.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Public claim, single dad biker, and pure possessive chaos
Corrupted by the Sergeant is peak MC intensity—fast, fiery, and unapologetically possessive in all the best ways. Rica Lane knows exactly what readers come for, and she delivers.
Bianca walking into Pine Valley thinking she signed up for a temporary nanny job—and instead getting publicly claimed by the Sergeant at Arms? Iconic MC energy. She’s strong but understandably overwhelmed, and the contrast between sweet little-girl sunshine and Shane’s stormy dominance makes the emotional stakes even sharper.
Shane Gunnar is everything you expect from a Sergeant at Arms: controlled, intimidating, territorial. The public claiming scene is explosive. The moment he pulls her against his cut and makes it clear to the entire club that she’s his? Chills. It’s possessive without hesitation, and fully rooted in MC culture.
But what really works is the single dad layer. Around his daughter, Shane softens just enough to show there’s more beneath the leather and ink. That duality—ruthless biker, protective father—adds depth to the heat.
The pacing is tight (perfect for a bingeable novella), the chemistry is immediate, and the claim isn’t just physical—it’s emotional. Once Shane decides Bianca is his, there’s no walking it back.
If you love public claiming, gruff bikers, nanny romance tension, and a hero who doesn’t ask—he declares—this one absolutely delivers. 🖤🏍️🔥.

Yes, even the most terrifying Sergeants at Arms can turn out to be single dads in want of a nanny. And Bianca, our sunshine-in-human-form and financially struggling artist badly needs the generous paycheck attached to this temporary gig. But the second she lays eyes on Shane, she knows she’s in trouble. Not because she can’t handle the work… but because keeping her hands off him might be the real challenge. As she puts it: “My soul doesn’t whisper, it screams. It’s a terrifying acknowledgement that has nothing to do with logic and everything to do with biology.” And honestly? That line says it all. Shane is pure, overwhelming presence. A mountain of muscle and discipline, vibrating with tightly leashed power. He’s controlled, commanding, and certainly not thrilled when Bianca shows up. He wanted someone safe. Predictable. Preferably old and boring. Bianca is… none of those things. She’s color, warmth, chaos, and temptation wrapped in one irresistible package. But Bianca didn’t come this far to be dismissed. And while Shane may hesitate, it’s his daughter Maddie who sees what really matters. Once Bianca and Maddie connect (and their bond is genuinely heart-melting), Shane slowly begins to realize something has shifted. Bianca doesn’t just care for his daughter, she transforms his house into something warmer, softer… into a home. And beneath his stern exterior, something fierce and possessive begins to burn. Of all the Broken Halos MC men so far, Shane is easily the most intense. Yes, they’re all obsessive, protective alpha types, but Shane? He takes it to a whole other level. He doesn’t just fall. He claims. Mind, body, soul. He’s overwhelming in the best, most feral way. What I absolutely loved about Bianca, though, is that she sees him. From the beginning. She recognizes that beneath the violence, the authority, and that commanding streak is a lonely man who needs her just as much as Maddie does. And instead of trying to change him, she accepts him—rough edges, darkness, and all. Their contrast is delicious. Bianca is color, sunshine and laughter. Shane is black leather, steel and storm clouds. It shouldn’t work—but it absolutely does. And when he publicly claims her? That’s it. Done deal. No going back. Add in the ever-present danger circling the MC (especially the Costas), and the tension never lets up. There’s romance, intensity, danger, and that addictive possessive energy that makes this series so hard to put down. Shane may be overwhelming—but watching him fall? Completely irresistible. Rica Lane delivers a compelling and passionate story in "Corrupted by the Sergeant," the fourth installment of the Broken Halos Motorcycle Club series. The single dad sergeant is an unforgettable character—intense, commanding, and fiercely protective—which makes his interactions captivating and full of sparks.
The moment Shane boldly claims Bianca as his is electrifying and sets the tone for an intense and deeply emotional romance. The chemistry between them is undeniable and keeps readers hooked from start to finish.
Bianca’s journey from a “temporary nanny” to someone deeply entwined with the club and Shane is both exciting and heartwarming. The unexpected turn in her life adds depth and authenticity to the story, making her character easy to root for.
Shane Gunnar is a force to be reckoned with—his power, his beast and his determination are awe-inspiring. Yet, his love for his daughter Maddie adds a sweet and tender touch. Maddie’s sunny personality balances Shane’s intensity, creating a wonderful dynamic that is both sweet and gripping.
The contrast between Maddie’s warmth and Shane’s raw strength is beautifully written. Rica Lane excels at portraying authentic relationships, especially the tension and affection that simmer between Bianca and Shane.
The protective energy is palpable, especially when Shane steps in during a tense moment. His possessiveness toward Bianca is forceful but also shows how much he needs her—a dynamic that romance fans will absolutely love.
The club’s atmosphere, the vivid writing, and Shane’s declaration that Bianca is “his girl now” make this novella an exhilarating, steamy read.
Even though the nanny job was only supposed to be temporary, Bianca’s connection with Shane and Maddie becomes something lasting and profound.
It’s impossible not to be swept up in this story as Bianca embraces her fate, branded by the Sergeant at Arms. Rica Lane masterfully weaves an underlying storyline throughout the series, while still making this book a satisfying standalone romance. The writing is crisp, the characters leap off the page, and the emotional depth leaves a lasting impression. Highly recommended for anyone who loves a steamy, heartfelt motorcycle club romance!.

Shane Gunnar is everything you expect from a Sergeant at Arms—shirtless, tattooed, commanding, and absolutely terrifying at first glance. He’s a single dad barely holding his world together, surviving on rigid control and brute force determination. Bianca, a struggling artist who just wanted a temporary nanny job, walks straight into his storm.
And from the moment Shane publicly claims her in front of the whole club?
There’s no going back.
What makes this story so addictive is the contrast. Maddie, Shane’s daughter, is pure sunshine. Bianca is warmth, empathy, and quiet strength. Shane is dark edges, gruff growls, and barely contained need. Watching Bianca see past his bluster to the wounded man underneath is incredibly satisfying. Even better? Watching Shane realize that Bianca isn’t just good for his daughter… she’s the missing piece of him.
The chemistry is intense, immediate, and impossible to ignore. The public claiming, the possessive energy, and the unapologetic “mine” vibes deliver exactly what MC romance fans crave. But beneath all that heat is a surprisingly tender story about broken people finding home in each other’s arms.
Bianca doesn’t try to change Shane. She loves him as he is—rough edges, stubborn streak, and all. And Shane? He doesn’t just protect her. He builds a future around her.
If you love dominant alpha bikers, single dad heroes, nanny romances, and high-heat stories with emotional depth, Corrupted by the Sergeant is an absolute must-read. It’s gritty, provocative, and fiercely romantic—the kind of book that leaves you breathless and already searching for the next trip back to Pine Valley.
Because once Shane Gunnar claims you… he means forever.

Corrupted by the Sergeant is one of those fast, fiery MC reads that hooks you from page one and doesn’t let go.
Shane and Bianca’s story is intense right from the start, but beneath the tough exterior and club dynamics, there’s a surprisingly tender core. Shane comes across as all power and control at first—gruff, commanding, and completely intimidating—but seeing the softer side of him through his relationship with his daughter adds depth to his character. That balance between fierce protector and devoted father made him far more compelling than just the typical alpha hero.
Bianca brings warmth and heart to the story. What starts as a temporary job quickly turns into something far more complicated, and watching her navigate Shane’s overwhelming presence and the club’s world was engaging. The contrast between her gentleness and his intensity fuels their chemistry and keeps the emotional tension high.
The story delivers exactly what MC romance fans look for—protective instincts, strong emotions, and a powerful connection—while also showing growth, vulnerability, and an unexpected sense of family. It’s a quick read packed with drama, heat, and heart.
If you enjoy possessive bikers, single dad heroes, and opposites-attract romances with emotional weight, this one makes for an entertaining escape.

“… You’re under my roof now, which means you belong to me. Don't forget it when you're locking that door tonight."
Another super hot, dominant alpha MC male that is willing to move heaven and Earth for his Queen! Thank goodness for Tristan who has the good sense to know his Broken Halos Sergeant at Arms brother Shane needs help caring for his daughter Maddie - even if he’s too stubborn to admit it. Bianca, a struggling artist, takes a nanny job to pad her income. She quickly realizes that Shane is in need of care himself. I loved how she realized that a lot of his talk was bluster and what he really needed was someone to love both Maddie and he unconditionally and wouldn’t leave them when the going gets tough. He found his home in her arms. Issues are still intense with the Costas and my only complaint was that often Maddie ended up hearing things that weren’t always appropriate for such a young child but I get it was mostly to move key parts of the story along and she happened to be there. I find the dual POV in this series to be very intriguing-the “romance” is definitely more physical than cerebral.

This is the fourth book in the Broken Halos MC series. It can be read as a stand alone but does mention characters from previous books. I have enjoyed the entire series so far. Each book can be enjoyed in one setting. While I enjoyed the book I must admit that Shane was really intense. He is a broken man who is the Sergeant at Arms for the MC. He has a seven year old daughter and considers himself a monster. He doesn’t feel like he deserves more in life. Then Bianca comes along. Bianca is all sunshine and lives her life in color. Shane is her opposite he lives his life in gray and black. She sees through Shane’s walls that he uses to protect himself, and refuses to back down. She is submissive but sassy, while Shane is dark, controlling, possessive and over protective to the point of paranoia. Maddie is the one ray of light in his life until Bianca comes into it and challenges him at every corner. I would have loved more info on Maddie’s mother. The story mentions her but is not clear on what happened. Very intense spicy read.

Corrupted By The Sergeant by Rica Lane is the second title I've read by this author and I wasn't disappointed. As a single dad, biker, instalove romance it had me hooked from the start with it's plot and storyline and engaging characters Shane and Bianca. Shane, biker and Sergeant At Arms for the Broken Halos MC, is vigilant and protective, especially of his daughter Maddie, and is conflicted when the new nanny Bianca, his brother hired, turns up at his stronghold of a home. The mutual attraction and recognised deep connection they have is instant and magnetic and at once a dance of dark flirtation starts as they circle one another. Danger is always close by to the Broken Halos and Shane takes security seriously so when Bianca and Maddie run into trouble, Shane's alpha possessiveness and protectiveness takes hold and he publicly claims Bianca as his to ensure her safety. The steam and spice in this story is high and there is plenty of sizzling chemistry to keep you turning the pages to see how their HEA plays out. I look forward to reading more titles from the Broken Halos series.

Corrupted by the Sergeant is a powerful and provocative installment in the Broken Halos Motorcycle Club series. Rica Lane delivers a dark, high-heat MC romance packed with tension, danger, and a deeply consuming dynamic.
The sergeant hero is commanding, protective, and unapologetically intense, while the nanny heroine brings heart and emotional depth to the story. The single-dad element adds another layer of complexity, grounding the darker themes with genuine vulnerability. The chemistry is undeniable, and the public-claim aspect raises the stakes, making the romance feel raw and unforgettable. The pacing is strong throughout, keeping this a true page-turner.
I’d highly recommend this book to readers who enjoy dark motorcycle club romance, possessive heroes, and stories that blend emotional connection with edgy, high-stakes heat. If you like your romance intense and unapologetic, this one absolutely delivers.

Bianca is leaving behind her life in Philly and hoping to start a new one and find a home. She is full of colour , life, bills unpaid and her artist brush in her hand. Becoming a nanny is her new start. What she didn’t expect to find the mountain of a man who is her new boss, to be all edge, rough and more grizzly than a bear. Shane is the sergeant of arms and has more scars on him than smiles. The moment he sees Bianca he knows she is his. His daughter Maddie opens up around her. One problem is his life full of violence and darkness. Danger around the corner and his claiming of Bianca is the core of this story. One over protective alpha, don’t angry with me Shane, one sunny, full of life and full of curves Bianca. Instant attraction and pure steam.

Another great read in this series that just keeps getting better
Corrupted by the Sergeant is a powerful addition to the Broken Halos MC series. Rica Lane perfectly balances a dark, high-heat romance with a story that has a surprising amount of heart.
Shane is exactly what you want in an MC lead: commanding, unapologetically intense, and fiercely protective. Watching him navigate the single-dad dynamic added a layer of vulnerability that made his possessive nature even more compelling. The Bianca, the nanny, brings the perfect amount of emotional depth to match his fire.
The she's mine aspect and the high-stakes danger kept the pacing fast and the tension sky-high. If you’re a fan of possessive heroes, "edgy" heat, and stories that don't hold back, this is a must-read. Absolute page-turner!
Bianca has to get out of the city and she ends up on Gunner Land when she applys for the nanny job that Shane's brother advertised. Shane takes one look at her and he decides that she is his. Bianca just wants a job but even she can feel the attraction between them. And then there's the sweet little girl who just wants a grilled cheese sandwich.
I loved this book. Shane is my kind of man. Strong, silent and will love you till the end of time. I also loved how unafraid Bianca was when he told her to go back to the city. I will be recommending this book to friends and family as it's the best book I've read from the series. Well done Rica. Looking forward to you next book.

Shane needs help with his daughter, Maddie, and that help comes in the form of a curvy, gorgeous nanny called Bianca. Shane can't have this; nannies are supposed to be boring, not someone who gets his motor revving.
Bianca needs this job, so she'll stand her ground with this huge hunk of muscle in front of her, but damn, does he have to be so handsome?
The instant heat and attraction have them both on full throttle and set for a head-on collision, and boy, do they hit hard when they come together.
Bianca is his from the first look, she just doesn't know yet, but she soon will!.

I gave this 4 stars for the characters. Both Bianca and Shane were likable, and it was good to see/have referenced a couple of the MC brothers. The daughter was likable, too. Bianca was sassy enough to unravel a Sergeant at Arms. The storyline was okay. It's kind of crazy that Bianca and the child couldn't even go grab a simple lunch in town without being harassed. The "you are not leaving/you should leave" was awfully repetitive in every chapter. Shane was definitely at war with himself when it came to Bianca. Still, the story kept my attention as has the whole series.

Shane is a masterpiece of broody, grouchy, sexy, virile, confident male. Bianca knows she attracted to him, knows she loves his little girl, and knows she’s not going anywhere. What follows is a battle of wills, a sweet surrender, and a very public claiming.

The Broken Halo MC series has been a great find if you love your MC romances packed with strong, possessive alpha men and the women they find to melt their hearts. Bianca shows up on the mountain applying for a nanny job and meets the hard and intense Shane who is the clubs SAR.
Bianca and Maddie bond and Shane knows he needs to claim Bianca but are so many dangerous things that could happen to her which includes their enemy, the Costas. The most dangerous of all is falling for this intense man who has claimed her heart as well.
I love the length of these books and this author does an amazing job of creating so much in these books.
Bianca never saw him coming - but she couldn’t turn away. She was everything Shane Gunnar didn’t want in a nanny - but she was everything he couldn’t resist. Together they discover a possessive vein of existence within. Add to the mix the sweet little Maddie - Shane’s daughter and it’s a powerful drama of threat and protection. On a personal level I feel the MC tend to overreact a bit or at the very least a bit too hastily. Being the “grizzly bears” they tend to be maybe they feel those images need to be constantly defended. Not sure. Overall an intense and sometimes slightly brutal book.

Bianca is hired for a temporary nanny position. Imagine her surprise when she ends up with Shane Gunnar claiming her as his. Temporary is not in the Gunnar vocabulary, this is the fourth book in this series and these men don’t just own the mountain they own their women too. Shane has two weaknesses, his daughter Maddie and now Bianca. The relationship they develop and the family and connection they share is amazingly sweet. Shane has such a huge heart and a soft side it’s just getting through all his steel to find it. I have loved every book in this series and this is an excellent read.

Book 4 of the Broken Halos Motorcycle Club series. Can be read as a standalone.
'Expect opposites attract, public claiming, and a gruff biker who turns “my daughter’s nanny” into “my woman” and never looks back.'
The characters drove the storyline and they were so very appealing and likeable and perfectly steamy together. Plot was intriguing and intense and well paced. World building continues to excel and impress. Another great addition to the series. Enjoyed immensely and highly recommend.

Corrupted By The Sergeant is the fourth book in the Broken Halos MC series. Shane is a single dad and needs help with his young daughter. Even if he doesn't think he does... Bianca is a struggling artist who needs some extra income. A temporary nanny position seems ideal. It is...kid wise. She's not so sure about the dad. He's intense, possessive, growls, and claims she belongs to him. Now she's gotta decide if she actually does. I enjoyed the connection between these two, they brought the heat. The adorable kiddo was a bonus.

Mc Romance. Bianca came to the mountain for a nanny job, escaping her city life. She didn't expect to run into a gorgeous biker. Shane is a member of the MC who's returning to the mountain. While danger reigns on the mountain, his brother hires a nanny to take care of his daughter. He thinks about waking her up, but when he sees her, he falls for her, torn between protecting her and possessing her. Will Bianca and Shane have a beautiful love story, or will the danger on the mountain prove too great…
I love this book series with the Gunnars.

Bianca needed a job and to get away from the city. She has signed up for in any job and has met a man that attracts and scares her. But her love and protectiveness for his daughter that's what makes her stay. He is Sergeant of the MC and when she's committed to being on the mountain and to stay in his home, she is his. Dark, intense love story that has a lot of action around the cabin with villains but inside as he tries to control his PTSD. He lets you in and see all the shadows and yet he is so protective. Realistic situations. Sometimes rereading a passage is necessary when the scene is presented. Loved the read.

This is book 4 in Broken Heroes Motorcycle Club series. Tropes: single dad, nanny, sergeant at arms, motorcycle club, and small town. Bianca answers an ad for a nanny position which leads her to Shane the single dad who is also the Sergeant At Arms for Broken Heroes MC. Bianca and Shane’s story is book 4 of the Broken Halos MC Series and is best read in order for the most enjoyment, but can be read and enjoyed as a standalone. -A dark, high-heat MC romance featuring an intense single-dad sergeant and a sunshine nanny who challenges his walls. I received a free copy and am voluntarily sharing my honest thoughts.
Shane’s fierce protectiveness and Bianca’s warmth create explosive chemistry, balanced by the sweetness of little Maddie. Steamy, emotional, and gripping, this story delivers possessive alpha energy with a surprisingly tender heart.
