It's a short and steamy, instalove, mutual-pining, OTT, opposites-attract, forced-proximity, curvy girl gets her biker second-chance romance. Courtney is a 28-year-old sassy, curvy attorney who has returned home after 10 years to sell her family's estate. Austin is a hunky, broody, possessive biker. He is the Vice President of the Broken Halos MC. They were best friends then lovers before she left at 18. Wrecked By The Vice President by Rica Lane is the third title in the author's Broken Halo MC series and was a thoroughly entertaining read. I've already read most of the titles in this series but missed this one and having circled back to it, in my opinion, all the books do work as standalones even though it is part of an interconnected series
As a second chance, friends to lovers, forced proximity, obsessive biker, instalove romance it had me hooked from the start with it's plot and storyline and engaging characters Austin and Courtney.
Austin and Courtney have a history growing up together in Pine Valley but Austin being from the wrong side of the tracks was getting deeper involved in his family's business until things were getting too dangerous. Despite the connection and relationship they had, Courtney couldn't stay and escaped to the big city as soon as she was old enough, but ten years on and she is back in town to sell property an aunt had left her.
Ten years hasn't dimmed the memories and feelings each have for the other and as soon as Courtney arrives Austin turns up on her doorstep determined to make Courtney his again and keep her in Pine Valley forever.
The mutual attraction and recognised deep connection they have is instantly reignited and their high heat back and forth was great to read as Austin's single mindedness and Courtney's stubbornness does little to dim their undeniable chemistry.
Danger and threats to the Broken Halos are a part of life for the MC and Austin is vigilant about Courtney's safety and his possessive and protective nature sees him move into Courtney's house to keep an eye on her whilst continuing his campaign to win her back by all means necessary.
The steam and spice in this story is high to match Austin and Courtney's sizzling chemistry and have been used as part of a great story that has you turning the pages eagerly to see how their HEA plays out.

Wrecked By The Vice President is the 3rd book in the Broken Halos MC series. Courtney and Austin were childhood sweethearts. But she left for college at the age of eighteen. Truthfully, she ran away. She ran from the town, from Austin, from the MC, and the violence. Austin was eighteen as well, and had club expectations and dangers to deal with. For the next ten years, they didn't forget each other, but Courtney never intended to come back. Now that she has come back to town to sell her childhood house, Austin is determined that she won't be leaving again. These two are pretty intense together and are on the same page relatively quickly. I am liking the series, but this story will never be my favorite. I simply do not like the long separation trope. And while I liked both characters, Courtney's reasons didn't resonate with me. I'll be looking for the next story soon.

Austin, her first love, and now VP of the club, knows differently. He is looking to claim her for all time all while keeping the rival Costa Clan at bay. Austin had loved Courtney since they were 12. His heart had broke when at 18, she left. It took 10 years to get her back on Gunner land. He wasn't wasting another day without her...whether she wanted it or not.  Courtney ran to protect her heart. She had her plan, 3 days and she'd leave again but one look at Austin, she knew he was it for her.

I have read a lot of Rica's books but this book is my favourite.  I loved how Courtney stood up to Austin when she thought he had played her. You could feel the love and passion that had for each other on EVERY page. This book was outstanding. And I am going to reread it again and again.

Rica, you are an amazing author and I am looking forward to your next book.

"Wrecked by the Vice President" is an absolutely phenomenal read that completely captivated me from the very first page to the final sentence! I was completely blown away by the outstanding character development, which felt incredibly realistic and immersive. The MC-centric narrative style really resonated with me, as it allowed for such a deep connection to the characters and their journeys. Furthermore, the dynamic interactions between the characters were incredibly captivating, adding multiple layers of intrigue, suspense, and raw emotion to the already compelling plot. The writing itself is exceptionally well-executed, seamlessly drawing the reader into this world and making it impossible to put the book down.

Courtney ran out of fear. Austin let her go out of fear. They were both wrong. Now she is back and he refuses to let her go. Can they overcome their past hurt and recover what they lost?
This was a sweet second chance novella. Austin has been a quiet sad fixture in the previous books so it was nice to see his story be told. He was intense but sweet. He is devoted to Courtney and loves her deeply. Courtney is still holding onto past hurt and fears. It was nice seeing them find their way. I am also enjoying the underlying story with the Costas and am anxious to see how that is going to continue to develop. I am enjoying the series and look forward to the next one.

However now that she had returned, Austin has no intention of letting her leave. He tells her that he is going to fix up the house and make it theirs and he wants to get her pregnant.

This is a story of being Noble and Selfish (for all the right reasons). Great chemistry between Austin and Courtney. Loved Logan's support. The Costas drama kept things interesting. Wasn't sure about James the lawyer ... he seemed skeevy, but thankfully it all worked out with him. I am enjoying the series.
