I was excited to dive into this series as the BLP ladies take care of business. This one did not disappoint. Nahla was a hard-nosed journalist, who wanted to help others, and tell truthful stories. While gathering information on her latest story, she finds herself in the crosshairs of police corruption. Never deterred Nahla pressed forward, and things quickly spiral. Her boss is worried about her safety and enlists the help of Porter Protects to assist her.
Cannon runs a tight ship and doesn’t trust anyone other than his sister to help run their business. When he is presented this case, he automatically says no, as journalists are prone to being reckless. However, when he sees a picture of Nahla, he is smitten. Then he finally meets her and knows that she is his to protect. Forced to hide together as the department gets more brazen in their attacks, their chemistry and connection brew quickly.
I love it when the man falls first. These two were just adorable. 🥰 Cannon appreciates the passion and care that Nahla takes with her stories, even at the expense of her family. These small-town cops were no joke with the ish they were up to! 😤 Slowly pieces and clues come together, and they were able to build their case to get justice for the people of Lyle. Enjoyed this! 👍🏾👍🏾
