Andromeda has a plan. Escape her boring job, sneak on a shuttle to Zairion Prime, and strike a deal with notorious Arachnoid crime boss Sylvus.
Her terms? She’ll become a hucow, sell her milk on the black market, and make enough money to live like a queen for the rest of her days.
Sylvus has no patience for trespassers and quickly trusses her up in his web. Still, Andromeda’s boldness intrigues him—and he’s never turned down a profitable offer.
They soon learn even the best laid plans often go awry. Both Andromeda and Sylvus failed to predict one crucial
Bethany Baker (she/they) writes erotic romance that blends the familiar and the fantastical, the erotic and the emotional, the silly and the sexy—into one downright tasty concoction.
When she's not baking cookies or writing smut, she enjoys collecting weird animal facts and going for walks with her partner. She has two cats, who go by "Disaster Bean" and "Chaos Baby" more often than their actual names.

This novella is dual POV, superbly written and edited, and a highly erotic, sci fi, lactation focused, surprise romance between Andromeda, the female human refugee lead with ADHD, searching for a means of independence, and Sylvus, the male arthropod (arachnoid humanoid) lead, who had no longterm plans for a pet of his own. I applaud the author’s capacity to incorporate serious emotions and emotional growth in a relatively short story, along with the highly erotic intimate scenes. I adore lactation play and found this a fantastic story, which I prefer, not just erotica. I enjoyed the banter and the surprise both characters experienced as they began to feel serious emotions for each other. I empathised with Andromeda’s trauma, and appreciated her determination to have genuine choices in her life. I enjoyed her impulsiveness and willingness to act to achieve her own goals. I enjoyed Sylvus’ consent focus and his determination to provide choices for Andromeda, even as he teased her. I enjoyed their happy satisfaction at the end.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I’ve read ALOT of monster romances, but this one just captivated me. The enemies to lovers, forced proximity, and honestly a really hot lactation kink?
For a short monster romance it was SO good. I suggest if you’re into some inter species couples then this should be on your TBR list!
By the time I got to the end I didn’t want them to leave. I wanted to see Andromeda grow and flourish in her new life.
If I could sit around all day and just be pampered like her, that would be the jackpot!
Andromeda has done just about anything to get ahead in life. She doesn’t like how she is under the governing thumb. So she sneaks onto Zairion Prime and finds the one and only notorious Arachnoid crime boss Sylvus to offer a deal. It just so happens that this deal makes things intense between them. She doesn’t have the normal reaction that other humans have had. She needs special care by her owner/partner. They form an intense bond that will shift their outlook on business partners and shift it to a relationship instead.
I received an ARC. This is my voluntary, honest review. This book was the first I’ve read by this author.
I love everything about this book. The banter is 10/10 fantastic. The spice is great as well.
Is it short? Yes. Is it still good? Also, yes.
It is a quick, fun read with new things I, personally, have not seen before. I thought I might find one part weird, but I have learned something about myself.
