Hearts harmonize where love, faith, and music combine.
Following their stellar opening night performance, Trudy sees her dream of being a famous vocalist becoming a reality.
When she becomes pregnant, she has mixed feelings — she is scared that the baby may inherit retinitis pigmentosa — a low vision illness —from her, but also excited about having a baby.
Just as she and Mark are enjoying their first break from touring and making plans for their baby, the world is blindsided by the COVID pandemic. In addition, Mark's former girlfriend, Abigail, has come back into their lives following a terrible accident in which Mark was involved.
Curious to meet this woman who was once close to her husband, Trudy goes to see her in the nursing home, and is heartbroken at what she sees. And she can tell Mark feels the same way. She has two reach out to Abigail with compassion or keep Mark as far away from her as possible. Which one would she choose? She chooses the former, and Abigail expresses her gratitude.
During this time, Trudy discovers she is pregnant. While she is overjoyed at the news, she worries that the baby may inherit retinitis pigmentosa from her. And the thought of raising a baby while touring does make her nervous. Despite these concerns, Trudy clings to her faith and her dream. But just as she and Mark prepare to rejoin their band for their next tour, the world is blindsided by COVID-19. Their dreams are crushed.
But through Zoom prayer meetings, singing rehearsals, and livestream broadcasts, Trudy and Mark navigate their challenges and release their new album with some degree of success. And when her baby is born, Trudy realizes that sometimes the only dreams worth chasing are the ones anchored in God’s will for our lives.

From the first day my elementary school teacher read my essay to the class, I knew I wanted to be a writer. But life got in the way, and that dream was not realized until years later when I returned to school and had my first short story published in P'an Ku, the college magazine.
From there I went on to win honorable mentions in Writer's Digest and other contests and have contributed to A Cup Of Comfort For Mothers and Chicken Soup For The Soul. I have also written hundreds of health and fitness articles for online magazines.
I am the author of Women For All Seasons, a Christian non-fiction book, and the Egypt series, consisting of Coming Out Of Egypt, In the Wilderness and In the Promised Land, in that order.
The Egypt series is written in the women's fiction genre and is greatly influenced by my work as an occupational therapist in behavioral health. There I have the opportunity to witness first hand the effects of sexual abuse, addiction and other societal ills, and try to make a positive difference in my patients' lives.
I believe that as writers we have a responsibility to impact the hearts and minds of our readers, to help transport them far and above the mundane realities of everyday life.
Apart from writing, I enjoy reading books that take me to places I've never visited, cooking healthful meals for my family - I'm a semi-vegetarian - participating in church activities and travel.
If you’re looking for a clean story with faith at the center of it, you won’t be disappointed with Harmonizing Hearts. Mark fell for Trudy when he heard her sing for the first time. I loved that they both relied on their faith to guide them in their lives. Mark had to face some obstacles, which could have been avoided if he’d made better decisions. Just my opinion, but see if you agree, after reading. They may have to endure some bumps along the way, but eventually they get there happily ever after. I won’t leave any spoilers, but I was really glad they helped Abigail, even after what she put them through. Grab your copy and see what happens in this beautifully written story.
