Despite gods and monsters at the end of every road, Elarie and the crew of the Greyscale must travel to the Forgotten Lands and defeat a creature born from rot and evil. Elarie’s secrets are laid bare for the kingdom to see, and the longer she stays in Lyburn, the more she begins to question herself and her power, leaving her unable to connect with the one person she needs. Calix Lathin.

After violently losing his dragon, Calix cannot imagine ever flying again, and he isn’t sure anyone truly understands. With his wings gone and a spiral making it impossible to process his grief, Calix is left a shell of himself, but he knows one they will return from the Land of Ruin, no matter what.

But the Land of Ruin is unlike anything they’ve ever experienced. Cold grips them, monsters challenge them, and magic is on the line. The further they go, the more they lose, and not even the stars above or the awakening Barrier can keep them from the consequences of challenging the gods’ creation.

This series is a must-read for any fantasy lover! After finishing Sea of Flames, I absolutely couldn't wait for Land of Ruin to come out, and the wait was so worth it. I loved being back in this world with all the characters. Elarie and Calix are *chef's kiss*. I want nothing but happiness for them.

The author's writing just pulls me in and doesn't let go. I just adore her world-building and character development, and every page made me more emotionally invested in the story and its characters. (I definitely didn't cry like a little baby at one point.)

If you happen to come across this review and haven't read any part of this series, I'm BEGGING you to pick it up. You won't regret it.

Thanks to the author for an ARC to read and review.
