I was captivated by Dragon Blind and had the honour of receiving book two and this didn't disappoint. The twist and turn, the revelations just kept coming. It was beautiful to see the relationship between dragons and it was filled with so many moments of tears, laughter, and awe! The author should be incredibly proud of this book, a job well done💕💕

Hands down, another five-star, chokehold-of-a-book that I did *not* want to end! *Dragon Bride* by Iman Christians takes us two years into the future, and it was so good to be back with Aisha and Adriel.
Unfortunately, Elan is still around 😒 and I still wanted to clothesline him in the throat every five seconds. We also get to meet more princes and kings from the other kingdoms—some were great additions, while others were basically Elan's equivalent 😂.
Drakkar is snappier than ever with his extra-smart mouth, and I was laughing constantly at his comments and comebacks. He remains one of my favorite characters in the series.
And the hatchlings? Absolutely to die for. These little nuggets are the cutest, most devious babies ever. I loved watching them grow throughout the story and seeing the special bond they share with Drakkar. Those moments added so much heart, humor, and warmth to the book.
The world-building continues to expand, the character dynamics are fantastic, and the story kept me hooked from beginning to end. If you loved the first book, this sequel delivers everything you could want and more. I honestly wasn't ready to say goodbye when I turned the last page. Highly recommend! 💜🐉📚

Iman has done it again! She has the true talent of being able to remove the redundant copy and paste that plagues romantasy stories today, and yet leave the yearning and devastation that fans of the genre go feral for.
The continuation of Asha’s journey put me through the wringer.
I experienced every emotion there is to experience, usually all within a few pages, and yet I could not stop clamoring for more.
The personalities of the dragons make this series, and book two does not disappoint as you get to know them more thoroughly and bask in their antics.
The political alliances being forged, betrayed, reforged, and everything done in darkness finally coming to light gave this book intrigue and plot twists that added a thriller aspect to this fantasy book.
You won’t see the ending coming, and it will destroy you. The epilogue will provide enough reprieve to keep your faith in the author, but you will need book 3 so badly you won’t be able to think straight and may experience a book slump.
Reading this author’s words puts me in a tail spin yet again, and yet I am obsessed with this journey and cannot wait to continue.

The second book in this series is an adventure from beginning to end! A 4.5 read for me!
Asha is trying to piece her life together after two years but the ache in her heart remains. When she crosses paths with her past, it is explosive and bittersweet. The threat of Shadowcasters looms, she set on a journey to find other Lightbearers to help with an impending war. Facing the biggest threat and challenge that will forever change her fate.
This book had the twists and turns moving this story into it's jaw dropping ending. Iman does an great job evoking feelings of fierce devotion and heartache. A story of resilience and standing up for what you believe in despite the challenges placed in your path. Leaving the reader wondering how this will all be resolved, giving us something to look forward to.

Did Not Finish
September 2, 2026I was eagerly looking forward to this one but the first two chapters were POV of male characters I despised at the end of book 1. I'll probably try again another time, but for now, it's a DNF... :/

Dr. Christians SURE KNOWS how to build a world and captivate readers. This book was beautifully written, and her twists and turns kept me gasping and coming back every time I had to put it down (because responsibilities). I was always quick to snatch it back up to see what twists and turns came next. I can't wait for book three!

*The Dragonbride* was a great follow-up, and I ended up enjoying it even more than the first book in the series. I was already invested in the story, but this installment really pulled me in from beginning to end.
One of my favorite parts was the relationship between Asha and Adriel. I loved the connection they shared and how their bond continued to grow throughout the story. Their interactions added so much heart to the adventure and made me even more invested in their journey.
The ending completely caught me off guard! I definitely didn't see it coming, and now I'm anxious to find out what happens next.
I really enjoyed this book and would give it 4 stars. If you enjoyed the first book, I think you'll love this sequel even more.

The Lightbearer Series Book 2 follows Asha after abandoning her lover, Warchief Adriel. She is on the run while on a quest to find more Lightbearers like herself. In the beginning of the novel, she has made zero progress.
What I Enjoyed
* A well-written, action-packed romantasy where the dragons continued to be the highlight of the series. Every dragon had a distinct personality, and they were my favorite part of the story.
* Around Chapter 10, the story really found its footing for me, and I became much more engaged, finishing 2/3 of the book in one sitting.
* The epilogue tied together several lingering questions and significantly improved my overall impression of the book.
What Didn’t Quite Work for Me
* I struggled to emotionally connect with the FMC and often found myself understanding other characters’ motivations more clearly than hers (particularly the MMC).
* Because Asha spends much of the story relying on senses other than sight, I wanted richer sensory descriptions of her surroundings. Those moments sometimes felt more surface-level than immersive.
* Several emotional beats didn’t land as strongly as I hoped because I wanted more character interiority and emotional reflection from the FMC.
* During the final third of the book, my interest dipped, and I found myself skimming at times. Thankfully, the ending regained my attention and left me satisfied enough to continue the series.
Will I Read Book Three?
Yes.
The ending rekindled my excitement, and I’d like to see where Asha goes from here. I especially hope the next book leans further into character emotions and inner thoughts, because I think that’s where this series has the potential to truly shine.

Dragon Bride is the second book in the Lightbearer series. Rarely does a sequel impress me more than the first book, however this is an exception. Of course you know that I LOVED Dragon Blind, well Dragon Bride has managed to top it. This author has completely won me over. I rapidly binged through this book and was genuinely upset when I ran out of pages. 😭 The writing is immersive, the world building and character development are very well done, and the angst just builds and builds. The storyline was heartfelt, entertaining, and delivered a range of tender and twisted moments. I also LOvE the dragons, especially Drakkar. I need him to be real because he is my mindset twin. His sentiments are the comment bubble inside my head. If you are a Romantasy, lover this series is a rabbit hole well worth the fall!
It does end on a wammy of a cliffhanger, so I will be anxiously awaiting book 3.

When I tell you that Iman Christians has easily become one of my favorite indie authors, I mean it. I absolutely love Dragon Bride and the entire Lightbearer series, and book two definitely did not disappoint!
The world-building continues to expand beautifully, and the story becomes even more thrilling. Picking up after a two-year time skip, we follow Asha on another epic journey as she searches for more Lightbearers while crossing paths with the love she left behind.
I absolutely adore Asha and Adriel together… especially when they’re not being so incredibly stubborn (looking at you, Asha! 😂). It was also so good to reunite with all of my favorite characters, especially Drakkar. His snappy, sarcastic dragon personality is still one of the highlights of the series for me.
That ending absolutely shattered me, but the epilogue gave me just enough hope to keep me going until the next book.
Overall, if you loved the first book, you are definitely going to love book two. This series just keeps getting better, and I can’t wait to see where the story goes next!

I have been waiting for this book since the day I finished book one and it did not disappoint! Drakkar and Asha are truly the dynamic duo. I love their bond more than her bond with the others, even though I do love all of her dragons. Asha is stronger than ever and still just as wonderfully stubborn. I love how her strength continues to grow in each book. I will say I had a ton of anxiety about the state of her romance with Adriel for much of the book because of the fact that both of them were engaged to others. I was internally screaming with the fact that both were just going to go through with getting married even though Adriel and Asha are my end game. But that ending! Thank goodness for the epilogue, but I was literally gutted! Cannot wait for book 3!!!

This book was so good. I knew it would be because I loved the first one . I love the fmc and the mmc. I was giggling and kicking my feet throughout this book. It had my attention from the beginning to the end. And I never saw any of the plot twist coming although I had a distrust of certain people. The characters are so beloved to me because they are written so well and seem true to themselves. And the imagery (chefs kiss). I felt like it was what explaining what it would look like to a blind person , from colors to touch and textures it was nice to be put in Asha's shoes for this ride

Dragon Bride gave me a romance that was equal parts frustrating and addictive, and I loved how the dragons added another layer to the story. The FMC was an absolute badass, and I loved watching her strength and determination throughout the book. The chemistry between the main characters kept me invested, but so much of their conflict could have been avoided if the MMC had simply communicated with her instead of keeping things to himself. Despite wanting to shake him a few times, I still found myself rooting for their relationship and thoroughly enjoyed the ride.

This is an extremely refreshing romantasy and the sequel is no exception! I went through a full range of emotions reading this and I cannot recommend it enough. There is so much beauty in the author’s prose that will have you turning the page to find out what happens next while also dreading the final page…because that just means we’ll have to wait for the next installment! Ahhhh!!! AND WHAT AN ENDING IT WAS!

Everything and Nothing at the same Time
This series just felt like I was stuck in a maze and anytime I thought the author was leading us out, it was a dead end. This book was excruciatingly painful to read. I kept waiting on character development and it never happened. Asha was just as dense in the beginning as she was in the end, if that was in fact the end. It definitely had the potential to be so much more but it was an epic failure.

That cliffhanger…literal cliffhanger!! I can’t wait for book three. I finished this in less than 24 hours.
Chato’s death. Adriel’s memory slipping and him changing. Ashkii and Igbo. Odina being alive. It was all soooo much! Elan dying was the best part. Zaib should’ve been killed too. He deserves it.
Asha and Adriel FINALLY being adults. They were working my daggone nerves and everybody else’s. I wonder if Mattias is still alive.
Is Asha a freaking dragon now??!!?!?!

I have absolutely fallen in love with this series! There’s not many that can make me say the second book is better than the first but this checked every box. I am truly astonished and the author deserves all of her flowers. I didn’t know what was coming but the ending had me audibly gasping. I cannot wait for the third book

This left me wanting more! I know this isn’t out yet…but I need book 3 to release the following day 🙃. Asha is still on a discovery journey… she’s learning more about herself, the cruelties of “friends”, and that it’s not always black & white when dealing with people. She has suffered so much….& unfortunately…the suffering doesn’t end in book two… you’ve been warned 😅

Dragon Bride was a great read. There are so many good things I want to say but I end up speechless because my words still don't reflect how great this series is. The ending had my jaw on the floor. I can not wait for book 3. I would recommend anyone and everyone read this series, especially if you are into fantasy books with strong FMCs!

Dragon Bride is an incredible sequel to an already incredible first book. Asha and Adriel kept me glued to my seat wanting more, and boy did I get more.
World building expanded wonderfully, the dragons were so interesting and fun and unique, and the emotions, those amazing, raw emotions you got from each character was just *chef's kiss* exquisite.

Breathtaking!
You have to read until the very END and then you will want just a little more. If you love books that make you utterly crazy - when you are so frustrated with the main character but you’re too far in to turn around - then this is your kind of book! My heart bleeds for the love of Asha & Adriel - until the very end

I didn’t realize this was going to be a trilogy, but now that explains why this book seemed to drag on. Asha irritated me, A LOT!
They escaped Zain’s boat and some characters weren’t mentioned again until the last chapter. So Zaib went to all this trouble just to let everyone get free? What happened to Celia, the other dragons on Surelia?

This book was captivating. I finished it in a day could not put it down. The adventures and the roller coaster of surprises will not disappoint. There is more dragon bonds and people bonds. The things This group is willing to sacrifice for the great good will have your emotions rolling. Can't wait for book three!!!

I AM NOT OK. This story was so well put together. The way the plot threads and character arcs weave together... revealing the right things at the right times. It is SO GOOD.
