Narrating a story without a pen has been my initial style. While crafting, I enjoy working around intense emotions and getting into the psyche of my characters. Women characters excite me more and I feel there is a lot yet to achieve in giving them a proper representation. Romance, friendship, relationships, feelings, unconventionality are my forte. First of all a huge thanks to the author for sharing me the copy of the title and giving me the space to share my take on the book so here we go...
First and foremost what I loved in the book is the banter. Definitely the wicked banter between the couple. It was fun, witty and overall I felt it uplifted the whole ambiance of the book. The plot was another thing I loved as it was just not a romance but with a trial in the background and the element of suspense tied up with this wicked chemistry between the leads, it was interesting to see how the events in the book unfolded.
Towards the end of the book, there was a whole lot of things that was unravelling quickly and at head spinning rate that I had to wait to catch my breath. It might be weird of me to say this for a romance book but for me what worked was the fact that the book didnt hover over the romance and "chemistry" too much and had actual stuff happening in the book that demands our attention. Be it the criminal proceedings, the secondary and tertiary characters and their developments. The plot developments. So it's just not the romance but added with a lot more that made this book interesting for me. But then of course, all the girlies looking for sizzling chemistry, welcome aboard and make sure to bring in your fire extinguishers ...things can get a bit fiery :P
The ending definitely deserves an extra point. The narration and storytelling is nice and keeps you intrigued and I loved the parallel tracks in the narration. Overall I think this was a good book to start my 2026 reading journey. :)
What's the spice without a bit of burn? And it burns more when sparks alight with each glance... that's how the chemistry feels between Jia and Dev in Book 1 of trial series.
The story follows Dev Arora and Jia Kapoor , both attorneys known for their confident wins and comebacks . Dev has never tasted defeat in his career, while Jia intends to break that streak . Their first encounter had them instantly attracted to each other - the saying - fire attracts fire goes right here ! Yet a disturbance caused a rift between them, dampening their chance. Now some time later - Jia is standing in courtroom, against her opposite counsel which is Dev . Both have two pieces of truth with them , A version only they get to know and solve to win this case. The question is - whose truth have more weight? Who will win in this game of temptation and truth?
First thing that comes to mind while reading this is - Two strong characters that are made for each other. Dev and Jia really stand out here , they are unapologetically bold and they don't shy away in showing it. There's tons of spicy flirting in their banter , metaphors that will make you reel in thoughts. Frankly, i learned some new words from this book (lol) because the vocabulary used here was not falling short in any way, author knows how to play with words well . Though at times , I felt simple conversations would have worked too.
What I loved most is the tension between them , I enjoyed their each and every hearing! Even though being attracted, they don't stray from their priorities - which is defending their client. I was at the edge of my seat during courtroom scenes as if I was present among them. The way author has added details really made the courtroom come alive ,along with case's Mystery and suspence. And let me tell you it is a good twist ! The case has an angle - which makes everything more complicated yet emotional. Everything felt well thought and put together, it also has a surprising twist regarding the victim and accused. It not only judges but questions the form of love in different ways - where it truly demands justice and where it shall truly serves.
The verdict was a surprise - it is an open ending left to readers .
Overall , A suspenseful drama of courtroom where the tension is palpable along with the chemistry between main characters. If you love books full of witty flirtations where characters aren't afraid to claim each other, then this should definitely be in your tbr. Waiting for the second book of course!
Arc Review of "Objection: My Love" by Adhiti Aravind. Ratings ~ 5/5
"Objection, My Love" by Adhiti Aravind is a sizzling, heart-pounding romance that hooks you from the first courtroom clash and doesn't let go until the very last whisper. Set against the high-stakes backdrop of a city gripped by a major criminal trial, the story masterfully weaves tension, desire, and danger into every page. Dev Arora, with his quiet warmth and sharp brilliance, is the kind of hero who sneaks into your heart without fanfare—he's steady, thoughtful, yet dangerously captivating. Then there's Jia Kapoor, a fierce enigma whose intensity simmers like a storm about to break; she's unapologetic, passionate, and utterly magnetic. Their opposing roles as prosecutor and defense attorney create electric friction—every argument sparks, every stolen glance blurs the line between duty and surrender. The author shines here, crafting a slow-burning chemistry that feels so real and immersive, you'll feel the heat rising with them. The way she builds their "no feelings, no slips" pact only to watch it crumble under raw attraction is pure storytelling magic—honest, reckless, and impossible to put down.
It's not just romance; it's a tempest of emotions where passion overrules everything, leaving you breathless and rooting for their ruin-worthy love. What elevates this book is how the author balances the legal thriller vibes with deeply human moments—late-night strategy sessions turn flirty, courtroom barbs hide longing, and the city's watchful eyes add that thrilling edge of peril. The author's prose is simple yet evocative, pulling you into their world like a whispered secret; she praises the complexity of real desire without overcomplicating it, and her character arcs feel earned and true. If you love stories where temptation wins, and consequences burn sweet, this is your next obsession—constructive note: a sequel exploring post-trial fallout would be chef's kiss!
“This is going to be a disaster… one I’ll savour unpacking.” —Dev.
“Beating you would be pure, unbridled rush.” — Jia.
"They say justice is blind, but the protagonists in 'Objection: My Love' certainly aren't. Between the sharp-edged depositions and the hushed whispers in mahogany-row hallways, Adhiti Aravind crafts a story where the greatest conflict isn't found in the witness stand, but in the spaces between two people who know they should walk away. It turns out that 'beyond a reasonable doubt' is a very difficult standard to meet when your heart is doing all the talking."
"Objection: My Love by Adhiti Aravind is a contemporary romance novel blending courtroom drama with intense emotional tension. It features rival lawyers Dev Arora and Jia Kapoor navigating a high-stakes trial, as well as their undeniable attraction.
The story centers on a gripping criminal trial captivating the city, where Dev, a brilliant and warm lawyer, clashes with Jia, an enigmatic and intense counterpart.
Their past connection reignites amid professional rivalry, risking everything for a passion described as "some temptations worth the ruin."
✓ Dev Arora: Portrayed as quiet brilliance wrapped in warmth, he draws readers in subtly without overt drama.
✓ Jia Kapoor: A "quiet storm" of intensity, evoking deep emotional responses that linger. Supporting women like Tessa adds balance to the narrative's emotional depth.
For me, it was all about Dev - he is a walking brilliance, temptation wrapped under a black coat. His every presence, whether it's within the walls of the courtroom or outside, spreads a charm and an aura you can't ignore or forget.
The courtroom scenes were the best. Every hearing, statement, dialogue, and argument was apt and thoroughly researched and presented. I never felt as if I was reading a story. It felt like I was watching the case getting dissected argument by argument with my naked eyes. The vibration of the courtroom could be felt, and you can experience goosebumps for every counterpart.
I had a brilliant time reading this extraordinary case, and I recommend it to you too.
Okay, here goes... One of the best best reads I've EVER had, not exaggerating!!!!
Adhiti dii, you've written masterpiece, trust me on this!!! 💪
A legal romance, filled with angst, courtroom dramas, spicy banter, and stong powerful characters, Objection: My Love is a star. The start of the novel itself may throw you off, because who could imagine starting a legal romance with spice between the rivals already???
Dev and Jia have my heart, I loved reading them! Dev ~ Our heartthrob, strong, powerful, irresistible masculine energy, cold at times but also so sweet... making us go week in our knees. Aura so magnificent, no one can remove their eyes from him when he walks in... Jia ~ Our fierce lady, our queen, I just loveddd her!!! Her boldness, her allure, her intellect, the way she carried herself in the courtroom, she was just amazing!
I loved the plot... the fierce hot banters between Dev & Jia, their courtroom dynamics, the drama that unfolded, along with the past, everything was written beautifully.
The case itself was very interesting, I didn't know which side I really supported, but enjoyed reading nonetheless. Now, I'll keep the review spoiler free, but I really liked how at the end, Jia was able to let go things and move forward with her mother, the way Dev helped her. I liked how the was Dev and Jia handled things between themselves too, even after many misunderstandings and differences in their opinions.
By the end, even though I felt sad that the outcome was not what I thought, I understood the sentiment and why the author kept it the way she did. It was a very good, very refreshing read for me, as I love courtroom drama and strong characters who challenge each other to their full potential!
So if you're someone who likes books filled with angst, courtroom dramas, workplace romances and enemies to lovers vibes, I would 100% recommend this book to you because YOU WILL THANK ME FOREVER!!!!
Objection: My Love was my first legal romance and I genuinely couldn’t have picked a better book to step into the genre. It felt refreshing, intense and incredibly immersive. This was also my first read by Adhiti Aravind and what stood out the most was how strong and flawless the plot depth was. Not once did the story feel confusing or poorly researched , everything was precise, well-thought out and tightly written. The story follows two lawyers with a shared past, a single night that turned strangers into something far more complicated. There’s tension, attraction, resistance and unresolved emotions that refuse to stay buried. When they come face-to-face again in a case that is both personal and professional, the sparks fly, inside and outside the courtroom. The courtroom arguments, the professional clashes mixed with personal history and the sharp banter made me feel like I was watching a legal drama unfold on screen. The twists were unexpected and brilliantly executed and every chapter kept me hooked. What I loved most was that this book isn’t just about romance. The friendship angle was beautifully written and deeply emotional. It explores love in all its forms between friends, through sacrifice, silent support and unwavering loyalty. Tessy deserves a special mention. Her strength, her love for her friend and her fight for justice made a lasting impact on me. Dev and Jia’s relationship is not rushed. It’s built slowly, through years, distance, growth and shared pain. Their connection feels raw, fiery and real. By the end, everything felt justified. The choices, the sacrifices and the love. This book was thrilling, emotional, and heart wrenching all at once. Safe to say, I’ll read anything Adhiti Aravind writes next.
I recently finished Objection: My Love, and this was my first book by Adhiti Aravind. and let me say - she has officially become one of my favourite authors. This book kept me hooked right from the very beginning, and I couldn’t put it down.
The story revolves around Dev Arora, a handsome and charming lawyer who has never lost a case, and Jia, a strong, independent female lead—exactly the kind I love reading about. Jia is fierce, loyal, and someone who would do anything for the people she loves.
Their first meeting happens at Dev’s cousin’s engagement, where sparks instantly fly. However, things take a turn when Dev’s ex enters the picture, leading him to say something he later deeply regrets. Fate brings Dev and Jia together again when they end up working on the same case. Despite everything, they can’t resist the pull between them—the tension, the stolen glances, and the unspoken emotions make their dynamic irresistible. Will Dev get a second chance, or will the case create a rift between them?
The storyline is well crafted, and the writing style is simple, engaging, and easy to follow. The chemistry between Dev and Jia is 🔥🔥, and the banter? Absolutely top-tier. I loved their bickering so much. One of my favourite moments was the beach scene where they pretend to be strangers—it was beautifully written and unforgettable.
Overall, I truly loved this book. It kept me hooked and even made me cry at the ending of the case. I also loved the friendship and loyalty of Tessa—how much she did to protect her friend Arathi.
This book has every thing - romance , tension and emotions . I highly recommended this book to everyone
Objection: My Love is a sharp, intoxicating blend of courtroom drama and slow-burning romance that thrives on tension legal, emotional, and irresistibly personal.
At the heart of the novel are Dev Arora and Jia Kapoor, two formidable legal minds locked on opposite sides of a high-stakes criminal trial. Their past chemistry lingers like unfinished business, turning every courtroom argument into a charged encounter. Dev’s quiet brilliance and steady warmth contrast beautifully with Jia’s enigmatic intensity and fierce ambition. Together, they create a dynamic that is both combustible and deeply compelling.
What makes this story special is its the romance burns slow and deep, allowing anticipation to do most of the damage. The legal setting is not just a backdrop,it actively heightens the stakes. Every objection, every counterargument, feels layered with unspoken emotion, making the courtroom scenes as thrilling as the private ones.
The characters are flawed, driven, and achingly human, constantly torn between professional integrity and personal temptation. There wasn't a single moment in the book, where I felt bored or skipping any line. I felt the Courtroom drama is in front of me & I'm being there. This book is really amazing. I didn't expect this writing style. This is the first book from the author & I'm a fan of her writing style.
Objection: My Love is a story where passion challenges principle and love becomes the most dangerous argument of all. Perfect for readers who enjoy intelligent romance wrapped in tension, ambition, and beautifully controlled chaos.
A book that has romance, banter, flirting, mystery, dirty secrets, fights, courtroom sessions, friendships, and much more... wouldn't it intrigue you to read it? Of course, it will, and here's a perfect recommendation for you people👇🏻
📌"A Promise etched in Diamonds & Devotion." This line hooked me, and I knew I'm gonna love this book. She was flirting with him, challenging him with a game of desire, and he was restless for her. Their parents wanted them to be together, but the courtroom is where they found themselves, as rivals. ✨
📌Well, the storyline is perfect, and the sub-plots were very captivating. It was mysterious and kept me on edge, giving me an adrenaline rush. Their banter and bickering were worth my time. Didn't see the plot twist coming my way at all.✨
📌 What I loved the most: - It was something new for me- Courtroom sessions. - It's a Tale of Friendship. - The whole concept was heartbreaking. - It challenges society's view of a married woman. - The deep secret that lies within. - Short read, Great Message, Amazing Plot. - Mysterious ending. - Strong FMC
Dev Arora & Jia Kapoor are lawyers. They're attracted towards each other but they're fighting against each other in a case where both the clients have hidden secrets & if revealed, can flip the case. Who's gonna win? Will they lose each other due to this case? What's next???
This story builds its intensity slowly - intimate in its emotions, fearless in its truths. The three unforgettable women balances the story as Jia, the razor-sharp lawyer carrying wounds she's only now brave enough to name, then Tessa- the wildfire whose love and loyalty blur the lines between justice and obsession and Aarathi, the quiet soul whose absence shapes every choice the others make.
Their lives intersect with Dev a defence attorney whose restraint, integrity and emotional intelligence make him one of the most compelling male leads I've read in a long time. The chemistry between Dev and Jia is not just romantic it's layered, mature and built on the kind of emotional labour most stories skip
What makes this narrative stand out is how it treats trauma, friendship and moral ambiguity with nuance. No character is painted in absolutes. Everyone is flawed, everyone is trying and everyone is shaped by the choices they made long before the story begins.
The writing shines in its emotional precision it's the silences, the confrontations, the courtroom tension and the quiet domestic moments all feel equally alive. It's a story about healing and also about the messy, uncomfortable- necessary work of choosing yourself, choosing truth and choosing love.
It felt like a powerful, character-driven read that lingers not because everything is resolved but because the people in it finally learn how to move forward
Objection: My Love is a sizzling courtroom romance that balances tension, wit and slow-burn chemistry perfectly. Dev Arora and Jia Kapoor are two brilliant, magnetic minds whose forbidden attraction makes every encounter electric.
The story delivers a delicious blend of courtroom drama and forbidden attraction. Dev and Jia aren’t just rivals in legal suits. They’re two brilliant minds locked in a battle of restraint, desire and control. Every argument crackles with tension and every glance feels like evidence waiting to be exposed.
Dev’s quiet warmth and unwavering intelligence make him dangerously irresistible, while Jia’s calm intensity hides a storm that slowly but surely breaks free. What truly stands out is how the story lets the silences speak.
The courtroom drama keeps the stakes high. The emotional depth, sharp banter, and simmering desire between the leads made this story unforgettable.
This wasn’t just a romance story. It was a slow, dangerous unraveling between Dev and Jia. If you love tension, slow-burn chemistry, and characters that linger long after the last page, you’ll simply devour this.
Objection My Love completely surprised me—in the best way.
I went in expecting a fun legal romance, but what I got was a smart, tension-filled story where the romance is built on respect, rivalry, and emotional restraint. Dev Arora and Jia Kapoor are true equals. Their chemistry comes from sharp banter, shared history, and the fact that they challenge each other both inside and outside the courtroom.
The legal setting actually matters here. The courtroom scenes are intense and engaging, and the case adds real stakes to the relationship. There’s no rushed love or unnecessary drama—just a slow burn that feels realistic and deeply satisfying. What I loved most is how this book treats love as a choice, not a rescue. Both characters are strong on their own, and when they finally choose each other, it feels earned.
If you enjoy intelligent enemies-to-lovers romances with substance, tension, and heat, this one is absolutely worth picking up.
Objection My Love is a brilliantly written legal romance that keeps you completely invested from the very first page. Dev Arora and Jia Kapoor are powerful, intelligent, and incredibly well-matched rivals whose courtroom clashes are filled with sharp banter, simmering chemistry, and emotional depth. The slow-burn romance feels natural and beautifully developed, making every interaction between them meaningful and addictive. The courtroom drama was so vivid and engaging that it genuinely felt like watching the case unfold in real life.
What truly makes this book stand out is the way it handles sensitive and realistic topics with maturity and care. The story balances romance, friendship, emotional trauma, and legal tension without ever losing its pace. Every twist in the case unfolds smoothly, keeping the mystery alive till the very end. Adhiti has created a refreshing, intelligent romance where love grows through admiration, respect, and emotional connection rather than clichés. A powerful and unforgettable start to the Trial Series!
