Objection: My Love was my first legal romance and I genuinely couldn’t have picked a better book to step into the genre. It felt refreshing, intense and incredibly immersive. This was also my first read by Adhiti Aravind and what stood out the most was how strong and flawless the plot depth was. Not once did the story feel confusing or poorly researched , everything was precise, well-thought out and tightly written.
The story follows two lawyers with a shared past, a single night that turned strangers into something far more complicated. There’s tension, attraction, resistance and unresolved emotions that refuse to stay buried. When they come face-to-face again in a case that is both personal and professional, the sparks fly, inside and outside the courtroom.
The courtroom arguments, the professional clashes mixed with personal history and the sharp banter made me feel like I was watching a legal drama unfold on screen. The twists were unexpected and brilliantly executed and every chapter kept me hooked.
What I loved most was that this book isn’t just about romance. The friendship angle was beautifully written and deeply emotional. It explores love in all its forms between friends, through sacrifice, silent support and unwavering loyalty.
Tessy deserves a special mention. Her strength, her love for her friend and her fight for justice made a lasting impact on me.
Dev and Jia’s relationship is not rushed. It’s built slowly, through years, distance, growth and shared pain. Their connection feels raw, fiery and real.
By the end, everything felt justified. The choices, the sacrifices and the love.
This book was thrilling, emotional, and heart wrenching all at once.
Safe to say, I’ll read anything Adhiti Aravind writes next.
