Broken Ice: An M/M Hockey Romance

Rate this book
Four years of hatred. One impossible trade. A desire neither can deny.

Jaxon Cross and Kieran Blake have been enemies since juniors—vicious rivals who've built careers on destroying each other on the ice. Their fights are legendary. Their hatred, undeniable.

Until Kieran gets traded to Jax's team.

Now they're linemates. Roommates on road trips. Unavoidable. And the razor-thin line between hate and want finally shatters in a hotel hallway at 2 AM.

What starts as one explosive night becomes an addiction neither can quit. The sex is rough, desperate, and everything Jax has been craving for years. But keeping it secret means playing enemies in public while falling dangerously hard in private. And when Jax is injured on the ice, Kieran's violent protectiveness threatens to expose everything they've been hiding.

Now Jax has a push Kieran away to save his career, or risk everything for the man he swore he'd always hate.

In hockey, the biggest fights happen off the ice.

A steamy enemies-to-lovers MM romance featuring rival hockey players, forced proximity, high heat, emotional intensity, and a hard-won HEA. Contains explicit content, violence, and two stubborn men who communicate better with their fists (and other body parts) than their words.

Tropes:

Sweet and adorable! I loved how cute they were and how much they loved each other. The groveling was perfect so I wasn’t even mad about the third act conflict honestly even though it was really harsh. Jax and Kieran are soooo cute!!

I had never read anything by this author but I was looking for something quick and fun to read. This fit that bill perfectly! I love both of the mmc's and the way they have to try and navigate a relationship on and off the ice.

It's sweet, heartbreaking and utterly satisfying in the end. Definitely would recommend this one.

I literally can’t rate this, it wouldn’t be fair… Why was this so rushed?!?! Will anything ever fill the void??

Super short, was to the point due to the fact it was only 7 chapters. Lots of spice, was cute but so repetitive… such as “Let me see you/ I want to see you” and “Let me take care of you” and “(insert name)— ………. (Response) I know” in like every spice scene, no variations in dialogue. It was fine, cute and fast paced.

broken

I like the storyline but I don’t like the writing style. The sentences are to clipped and it makes it sound harsh and unfeeling, like there’s no depth. And it’s really repetitive, so much that I thought I read the same conversation again and again.
With that said, I liked the characters. I was invested in their relationship so it’s not a bad book. If you like this writing style I think you’ll find it’s a nice short story.

i do not understand the purpose of writing a half-assed book. this could have been a good story if it was actually fleshed out. 50% of this book was s*x, and the other half was zero connection and just moving the storyline forward. yeesh.
obvi i didn't realise i had downloaded a 1/3 of a book at the time.

A decent book for less than 100 pages. Some of it did seem rushed but short stories are. You don’t get heaps of background on the characters but there is some slight development in relationship not really in character. Enemies to lovers, hea.
