I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review as part of a book tour hosted by Rachel's Random Resources. All opinions are my own.

Wild Italian Nights is my first read by Christy McKellen, and I'm excited to say that I'll be reading more of her work. This is a story about two opposites who are both struggling in their own ways and who end up finding each other in a very unique way.

Juno was written very well. I enjoyed her character growth throughout the book and liked watching her gain the confidence she'd struggled to find before.

Sandro was a sweetheart. He had a traumatic past that he didn't realize affected him so much, and I think that made watching his character growth even more satisfying.

The chemistry between Juno and Sandro made this book. Their banter was excellent, and I think there was a great balance of spicey, sweet, and emotional.

Wild Italian Nights is sweet, short, and spicy, and I recommend it!

Wild Italian Nights is definitely an ideal title for this spicy treat. I hadn’t read this author before, so I was unsure what to expect, but I trust Boldwood Books and know that they always deliver.
Although there’s no getting away from this being an open-door romance, there is a solid story supporting the spice, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Juno is our FMC, and she is successful in all aspects of her life but has no experience in intimacy and remains untouched. She is determined to change that and selects Alessandro Ricci to teach her everything she wants to learn. I really liked Juno and enjoyed following her awakening. Christy McKellen positioned her perfectly and handled her naivete with a skilled hand. She didn’t come across as anything but a willing, adventurous and determined student.

Alessandro was a delight! He screamed experience and sexiness, and yet nothing about the book seemed salacious. He was caring and gentle in his lessons, and I was fully invested in seeing Juno graduate from his classes.

Wild Italian Nights is a quick read, and I finished it in a single sitting. It’s smart, sexy, and high on spice, perfectly balanced by a smart, sassy storyline. If you fancy raising the heat, this will definitely do the trick.

Having read In Too Deep, another book by this author (reviewed here), I anticipated some steam–but in Wild Italian Nights, the steam factor has been kicked into overdrive, and in the best ways! There were a lot of hot moments between Juno and Sandro, while Sandro attempts to teach Juno everything he knows when it comes to sex. Juno is a willing pupil. They have boundaries and limits that have been set by both characters, not wanting to go too far or delve into anything that might create attachment and feelings. Juno is merely in this for the lessons, and Sandro is in it because his father thinks it’s important for the two young lovebirds to be seen together in public, aiding Sandro’s image. But Juno doesn’t know that.

Juno has enlisted Sandro’s help so she can catch the eye and attention of someone else, and secretly, it’s killing Sandro. Spending so much time together has unavoidably created more between them than just sexual tension, which shouldn’t come as a surprise to him or anyone else. There is so much more to a person than what can happen between the sheets, and Sandro is slowly falling for Juno and the person she is–her kindness, her generosity, and the fact that she seems to accept Sandro for who he is, not focusing on what she can gain from him. He’s not used to that.

Juno feels the same way about Sandro. Initially, having him around has been a means to build up her confidence, yet she can see that there is a genuine vulnerability to him–a lot more than meets the eye. The plan was to not catch feelings and to take the skills Sandro has given her so she can utilize them in the future, but plans change and life can change in an instant. Maybe Sandro could see her as more than just his pupil. Given the confidence she’s gained through being with him, it could potentially happen, or so she begins to hope.

But when Juno discovers that Sandro has some ulterior motives behind assisting her, she isn’t sure what to think or what (or who) to believe. Has Sandro been using her? And ultimately, wasn’t she doing the same thing? Or is there more between them? The spice was nice in Wild Italian Nights, but it was also nice to see some evolvement for both characters, while they try to figure out if there can be more beyond their arrangement, potentially turning into something real.

My Opinion

Wild Italian Nights is the second book in the Seductive Secrets series but it can be read as a standalone. I have previously read and enjoyed a few books by Christy McKellen and Wild Italian Nights did not disappoint. With less than 200 pages, Wild Italian Nights is a quick and easy read that I would highly recommend.

Juno is shy and reserved. She's been hurt in the past, but at 22 and still being a virgin won't impress anyone, especially someone she wants a mature relationship with, but what better way to fix the problem than to call upon Sandro, the handsome playboy, who knows how to work a girl in the bedroom?

But while Sandro is willing to give her lessons, neither will expect real sparks to fly so quickly.

McKellen gives us a narrative which is laid out just over two weeks. I liked how the timeline on this was very quick, although I felt in places it was longer. I liked the main characters and how they both showed their vulnerability, which were complete opposites of each other. This gave both characters more depth to their backstory.

This storyline is told from the point of view of both our main characters, and I enjoyed how the conflict felt real. The two characters battle with their own insecurities and selfish needs, which had me seeing both sides.

This is the second instalment in a series, but can easily be read as a standalone.

I thoroughly enjoyed this read! Just the right amount of spice but an equal amount of substance makes this a deliciously romantic tale.

I loved both Sandro and Juno’s characters; the perfect opposites attract combination, each with their own underlying hangups which actually serve to bring out the best in each other.

It’s a short read at only 165 pages and this also makes it a real page-turner. Told from the character’s alternating perspectives, it’s easy to race through in one or two sittings as you invest in the development of their relationship.

Highly recommended, it will make a perfect summer beach read.

💭 My Thoughts 💭

This is my second book I’ve read by Christy McKellen and it didn’t disappoint. I find Christy’s writing so easy to read and her books pull me in from the beginning. Although this is the 2nd book in the seductive secrets series it can totally be read as a standalone. I loved the Italian backdrop it seems to be a destination I’ve been heading to a lot this year in my reading. Alessandro and Juno’s story was a wonderful one to enjoy on a summer night or round the pool.

Cute, quick romance novella. I enjoyed this spicy story about a mismatch couple dating briefly. There is typical misunderstanding but it is not drawn out. Overall it’s a sweet story and I would definitely read others in this series.
