Before the war for time began, one man made a choice that changed everything.
In the 25th century, Maxwell Bahn is a gifted but directionless scientist searching for purpose. When he accepts a post on a remote research station in the asteroid belt, he believes he is joining a civilian scientific project. What he discovers instead is something far more dangerous.
Project Clean Sweep is a lie. Project Dominion is not.
As Bahn uncovers the truth behind a covert military programme and a hidden alien presence already reshaping the Solar System, he realises humanity’s greatest threat does not come from the future or the past, but from its belief that it has the right to control everything it touches.
Guided by a mysterious caretaker who seems to know more than any man should, Bahn is drawn into a crisis where survival depends not on conquest, but on restraint. The decisions made on a forgotten asteroid will ripple across centuries, shaping wars yet to be fought and lives yet to be born.
A Ragged Loop in Time is a gripping science-fiction prequel about legacy, responsibility, and the moment humanity first reached for dominion over the stars.
This prequel novella is the perfect introduction to the Ragged Time Trilogy and leads directly into The Ragged Edge of Time.

Drawing from personal and family narratives, Kane's writing evolved, exemplified by "The Diary of a Debt Collector," inspired by his wife's professional encounters. This catalyst ignited a prolific period, yielding both fiction and non-fiction works, with 1,284 copies sold.
During the Covid lockdown, Kane delved into historical fiction, crafting The Brittle Saga Trilogy comprising "The Brittle Sea," "The Brittle Land," and "The Brittle Sky." Offering the first book as a free enticement resulted in over 10,000 downloads, showing a growing readership.
Currently, Kane's focus now lies on the sequel to "Walking Away from Midnight," "Midnight's Child," his latest historical fiction endeavour part two of a promising series. Additionally, he is on the brink of completing "The Ragged Edge of Time," a captivating science fiction novel slated for release in the autumn of 2024.

I simply adore this book! As an avid fan of the Sci-Fi and Time Travel genres, I knew that this book would be right up my alley. However, I had no idea that this book, A Ragged Loop in Time, a book I received as an advance review copy for free, would sit so powerfully within my spirit! I just had to help spread the word about this book with my little voluntary review!
If you enjoy time-travel stories with characters that exceed your expectations, characters who each individually add different and diverse flavors to an already incredible tale, then this book is for you! You will find NO cardboard cutout personalities in this story! So, prepare yourself for the beginning of a wild ride through time and space!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily… no, seriously! I may have received it for free, but my review is because I found the story to be PRICELESS!!!
This short text is the origin story of how space and time travel can be used to save people and their worlds.
It makes for compelling reading and there are clues as to why not everyone on the space base is who they seem to be. Our hero and his mentor are in mortal peril, but it should be no spoiler learning they survive as this is the start of a series.
Not all laws of time travel are obeyed and there is no explanation of how past and future can meet, but perhaps that's why it's called a time loop. I will be looking out for more in this series.
I received a free advance review copy, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
