“Scoring Deep” is the fifth book in the “Boston Revolutions Football Series.” This is fifth book of Emery’s that I have read and I am totally hooked on this series - cannot wait for the next book! Trent Miller, aka Calves, is the star kicker for the Boston Revolution’s NFL team. Once a week, depending on his work schedule, he is part of the Big Brother/Big Sister program, which he loves. Harper has just moved to Boston and beginning to sort her life out. She is renting a cheap apartment, just bought a rusted out Camry and working at the local hair salon, but her main goal is to get full custody of her son that she has not seen for eight years.
Trent is on his way back from dropping Theo at his grandmother’s, with a lot to sort out tomorrow morning….”She’s always been a mean old bat, but she’s gotten worse the past few months. Sharper, meaner, like she resents every second Theo exists in her house.” He spots a broken down vehicle on the side of the road and being the southern gentleman, he helps the young lady. He cannot stop thinking about her. “Dark auburn hair pulled back in a ponytail, eyes so wide and blue that they need no makeup, and a mouth so wide and full it needs no lipstick. She’s a natural beauty.”
Harper has had a rough life and now she wants to start her life a fresh. She works hard….all she wants is her son back and to provide a home for him. They start spending time together, and for the first time in a long time he opens his heart to her. Trent knows that Harper has a past, one that she is not ready to talk about….yet. When he finds out who she is, he walks away, devastating her. She is missing him….then he turns up on her doorstep. “But God, I’ve missed this. Missed him. Missed the way he tastes, the way his stubble scrapes my jaw, the way his fingers tighten in my hair like he’s afraid I’ll disappear.” They are two people who have been drowning separately finally gasping for air, together.

This book is everything you expect from a alpha male and sport’s romance! I’m very happily hooked - I did not want it to end! Once I started reading, I could not put this book down! At times you will laugh, you will cry, get angry and frustrated - most of all, you will love the twists! This book will charm “the pants off you” and leave you going back for more. I thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful love story.
“Trent lifts me with ease and my legs wrap around his waist. His mouth finds mine again as we stumble down the hallway, my back brushing the wall, his hands everywhere and nowhere, like he’s trying to restrain himself and failing beautifully.”
Once again Emery does not disappoint! This is a lovely book that will keep you hooked! It has fun, laughs, intrigue, twists that you do not expect, and physical attraction. I thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful love story, with all the ups, the downs, the friendship, the heartaches and most of all, what love can overcome 💗 From page to page, chapter to chapter, from cover to cover - you will enjoy this beautiful story! Another hit on Ms Quinn’s hands!!!
This was such an amazing book. I love Trent and Harper’s and how their relationship develops and I also love how much they grow throughout the book. They are just perfect for each other and I'm so happy that they got theirs happily ever after. I highly recommend this book! And series. Another hit on Ms Quinn’s hands. Happy reading

With this book Emery Quinn is continuing the world of Boston Football favorites. Once more she introduces the character in a way that makes you immediately fall for them. Who wouldn't like a handsome man who also has a heart of gold by being part of the local Big Brother - Big Sister program.
Trent is the quiet man on the team. As the kicker he doesn’t get a lot of playing time, but the pressure is always on. His participation as a big brother gives him the opportunity to let loose, enjoy life and be his very best self for Theo.
Harper has had a rough life. All she wants is a chance to start over. She wants to know that her past is staying where it belongs and to prove to herself that she can do it. A quiet life, in a new town. Hard work does not deter her but a broken down car is not how she wants to start out.
Meeting Trent as her rescuer sets her on a course she did not expect. As the well raised southern boy Trent immediately helps Harper who is stranded on the side of the road. What he did not expect was that this ‘damsel’ would be someone that started to matter to him in the way she did. Yes, seeing his teammates falling in love has him thinking that it would be nice to one day have a family of his own, but too many things are going on in his life that are unpredictable. Maybe a little distraction in the form of a pretty, yet smart woman is just what he needs. What he did not see coming is that the one thing he does not like in a woman is about to hit him.
A damsel she is not, but the help is appreciated. Harper knows that no matter how wonderful the man is he is not part of her rebuild of her life. She has a very certain course mapped out for her and that means keeping her head down and powering on. Trent is unpredictable and kind. Maybe just a meal would be nice, but nothing else. As Harper knows from experience not everything works out the way one plans it. The need to have someone who sees her for her and makes her feel good wins over her thoughts of being cautious and sticking to her plan. Will this work out in her favor, or will this be her downfall?
Emery Quinn spins a wonderful story of two people who are both struggling with something. There are quite a few unexpected turns in her story and of course the return of some of our favorite Boston Revolutions players from previous books. Yes, this is a sequel but can be read as a stand alone. It was a book I had a hard time putting down and I am grateful that I received this book as an advanced reader's copy because I had been waiting for the next book in the series.
If you love a wonderful story that is written with love and dedication. Which includes two characters who are truly human and make mistakes but also learn to forgive. Pick up this book and enjoy it as much as I have.

The title definitely gives a little insight, as this story has real depth to it. Trent is an NFL player who is also involved as a “big brother” to Theo, whose grandmother will definitely have you grinding your teeth.
Trent meets Harper one day when he stops to help her after her car breaks down. The two connect, start seeing each other, and gradually begin building a relationship. Harper has a past that the author only hints at initially, choosing instead to first focus on Trent and Theo’s relationship and Theo’s circumstances.
When these two threads eventually collide, the story is taken to another level entirely. The emotional impact is strong—you feel the characters’ disappointment and hurt, but also Theo’s joy and the wonder of rediscovering family bonds. That shift really elevates the story.

This was an emotional story that had me captivated throughout. Harper has come to build a new life in a new town. She has a plan. However, a broken down car and a handsome kind man provides a temptation that is not on her map. Trent is intrigued by this woman and looks to continue their connection. Honestly, I swooned as we got to know Trent and his Big Brother mentoring of Theo. Both of the main characters are perfectly imperfect which made their love journey heartfelt. There are some twists that provided some angst which was balanced his team members and wives support. Loved every minute.

The characters were very complex and complicated and perfectly steamy together. Plot was intriguing and intense and well paced. World building was excellent and impressive. All in all a great addition to the series. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. There is a lot of depth in this story. I liked how Harper and Trent get together and eventually fall in love. Theo is a sweet kid who went through a lot. Trent was his big brother. The unexpected was that Harper was his mother. Harper was dealt a tough blow in life that I really hope will be corrected. I'm glad she gets custody of her son and love with Trent. They make a great family.

Trent is the epitome of the “perfect” guy. Loving family, wants a relationship, volunteers and is loyal. He cares so much about Theo and takes on responsibilities that would make most single men run. Harper is so kind and has every reason to be bitter and resentful…and she isn’t. Having her get an HEA with someone like Trent is karma!

I really liked the character development of the love story. It was easy to read and follow along and kept me hooked the whole time! I love the characters and how they navigated the situations they faced and the overall arc of the story was intriguing to me!
