This is a fast paced, second-chance romance that will instantly make you swoon, laugh, and even drop a couple of tears! Happy Reading!
Dreu was funny asf! I like him when we were first introduced to him in his brother’s book but really fell in love with him reading his story!!
He loved his “Pancakes” & was determined to do whatever it took to win her back!! I loved the way he made her feel good about herself & her insecurities! He loved everything about her & built up her confidence to love herself the same way!
I like how this book touched on depression, grief & anxiety. I also loved how Dreu wasn’t afraid to show his emotions toward the woman he loved! You don’t see an MMC too often that isn’t to hard or tough to express himself & his feelings! This was such a good read!
I loved Dreu so much! He was so funny and so in tune with his emotions. Tavia wasn’t the typical baddie . I loved the representation of a bbw with no ass lol . She was just a regular girl with a regular shape and he didn’t give a damn! That was his pancakes! She matched his fly and personality . The way he poured into her and uplifted her every chance he got i just loved this book!
Second-chance romance done RIGHT. Dreu stood on BUSINESS and did not play about his pancakes, Jatavia 😭❤️ I loved their growth and how they genuinely supported each other’s dreams no jealousy, no ego, just teamwork. Grown love. Intentional love. Loved it bad. Period.
Dreu was absolutely funny and a good time! I love him in Bleu book but now him getting his own story. You get more from him.
I love how he wasn’t afraid to show his emotions and feelings towards Jatavia. Perfect example of second chances. I love the growth, love and respect between the two characters. This was a good time!!!!
Glad we got to see more of Truly and Bleu. Dreu is a wild man. Like sir you are out of control. Like Pancakes, I would’ve gave him another chance too and I don’t even do second chance. It was HILARIOUS
If given a second chance don’t take it for granted. Second chances can be the chance you get! Never settle when you deserves so much more. Don’t ever shrink to fit into some else reality. A man that cries doesn’t mean he’s weak, it’s showing how grown he really is. Let’s chat!
First I want to say that I love Dreu down. This man was a comedian but had no issues wearing his feelings on his sleeve and showing his vulnerable side 🥹! The things this man would say! Like he called that girl Tammy “ Subway”🤣! Heart ached for him when it came to his parents. He was such a momma boy🤭! He wasn’t just a momma boy , he is a man that goes after what he wants and that’s exactly what he did when he seen Jativia again! The pressure this man applied was like no other when it came to his Pancakes (Jativia)🤭. Let’s talk about this name for a minute. How he came up with this name 🤣! He play too much but like he said he likes them top heavy🤭 everything basically just falls in place. Ok, back to the review. Poor Devin! He just! I honestly don’t know what to say about him cause it ain’t NO way a man is just to tuck his tail the way he did🫣! Not only was he applying pressure, the actions behind it was top tier. Show me where them men that’s going to pop up to prove they miss you and you not close at all🥰. Then them affirmation about her and her dreams 🤏🏾! Listen, were they at🤭! The way he took advantage of his second chance with the love of his life was so beautiful. Not only that seeing his growth and hope he matured was it got me. Dreu is just that 🥷🏽!
Jativia, my girl her energy was everything once she accepted who she was as a woman. Depression is a real thing and will have you going down a rabbit hole😔! My girl had it bad and my heart went out to her. No woman nor man should ever have to deal with a leech of a spouse and that’s exactly what Devin was😒. Oh but how that final date changed it all for all parties involved when she sees the man that hurt her the most - Dreu. Pancakes didn’t stay ready and ended up having to get ready🤭 for what he was bringing. As a woman I get the wall of defense she had up but when you love someone that wall is not as strong as you thought🥹. What I loved about Jativia was that she allowed & accepted his growth and didn’t hold on to who he use to be🥹. My girl wasn’t ready for the grown man Dreu🥰. Though she had her hesitation, she allowed his actions, words and affection to work their magic. Not only was he putting in that work, my girl was too🥰. The positive and affirmations she was telling him was just as powerful as what he was saying to her. The way she encouraged him to be the man she knew he could be to better himself was amazing🥰.
That mother🫣. Honestly didn’t like her vibe from jump. Yeah she was a piece of work. Like children don’t get to pick their parents not ask to be born. The things she was saying had me hot😤. Like really!
This read was beautiful and full of growth🤭. The growth of a man is always beautiful to see. Who doesn’t like to see a boy grow into being a man. Then to see a queen straighten her crown. Not only that a man expressing & bearing his feelings through tears, listen where they at🥹. Let’s not talk about the songs 🤣. He was talking her through there🤭. Masterpiece pen has yet to disappoint. Can’t wait to see what she drops next.
I thought big brother Bleu was the man I wanted then along came Dreu. It's so liberating to see the growth and maturity in him. I loved how he spoke life and love into Pancake and I love how she brought out the best in Dreu.
Dreu was a crying & singing somebody!! i was here for all of it, that man was pure comedy!
At the sale time he was emotional and I loved how intentional he was in recognizing his flaws and going after his girl.
That man said, if he had one more chance to get it right with his Pancake, he would not fumble the bag a second time. They say lightning doesn't strike twice. He saw his chance and took it.
Could Jatavia given him a little more hell and push back? Maybe. But its a fantasy. Get over yourselves.
The author, however, you did clarify on the parents' relationship, and that was so hard and sad to read for this emotional reader.
Girl, Dreu was a hot ass mess, but a true big girl lover and very honest about it. 😂 If he cannot love my pancakes, I do not want him. I need me a Dreu.
I came for the swoon and stayed for the emotions. Dreu chasing his sweet Pancakes, messy feelings, old wounds, and all the what-ifs hit exactly how I wanted. If you love fast-paced romance with heart, longing, and “I’m not giving up on us” energy, this one is definitely worth the read.
I’m not gonna lie I like the book but the endings for the brother books don’t make sense. It’s like a hip cliffhanger. Did they get married? Did they have kids like was she pregnant? Missing the ending
They say closed mouths don’t get fed — but Dreu? Oh, he was begging, groveling, and showing up with actions this time.
Because baby… he knew he fumbled a real one.
Our girl was out here battling depression, low self-worth, and life in general — running on fumes, exhaustion , and self-doubt. Sis was tired. Tired of loving ( if you can call it that) a man who don’t even like her. Tired of being struggling . Tired of accepting the bare minimum.
Then BOOM… Dreu re-enters the chat. He is a famous rapper and at a festival he sees his woman for the first time in a long time. This Dreu is different, he knows he messed up and he will stop at nothing to get his Pancakes back.
From emotional support to real-life support, Dreu wasn’t just talking — he was showing. This man broke into her apartment, saw her past due bills and paid them. Paid her rent up for a year and paid off her car.
Dreu was a straight nut, the way I hollered at how animated he got when someone stank.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommend for anyone who loves: • Second chance romance • Healing journeys • Funny MMC • Soft life energy • A man who actually learns his lesson
I’m giving this one 3.5 ⭐️. This was a good short read! And honestly, this storyline was much stronger than Bleu in my opinion. Dreu and Jatavia’s story felt more flushed out and complete, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Do I wish it was little longer? Yes. I think we could’ve benefited from seeing more of them together navigating this new version of their relationship where they are now vs. when they first met.
However, I will say that the conclusion to this story was much better than Bleu’s. I was glad to see a glimpse into the life that Bleu and Truly built since we didn’t get to see that in their book, so I was really appreciative of the details of their relationship in addition to how Dreu connected with Truly as a sister-in-law. I also enjoyed getting to know Jatavia a little bit more and I am glad that she was receptive of Dreu’s love and that there was no real unnecessary drama between them. If anything, my favorite part about this book was experiencing them reconnect with each other and pick up right where things left off.
Not everyone deserves a second chance to your heart. But, in Dreu’s case, he immediately felt the loss of letting the One, the love of his life get away. He did try to find her but she cut all ties and any access by social media, so he had to keep it moving. She was never far from his thoughts though. Maybe the space and time was needed so Dreu could not only miss her but understand what he did and the things he didn’t do that he’d definitely do differently with another chance. Especially seeing Bleu fall in love, he knew what that felt like. Just so happens the universe was on his side and Jatavia’s too because the concert put destiny in place. Jatavia was settling and knew what she and Devin had was done but her depression kept her there. Dreu wasn’t having it. Just like Bleu, everything you dream of, if I can make it happen, because “I’ll Never Make A Promise” that I can’t keep. With the right man’s love, therapy, bestie Tammy, lil subway, and a business to look forward to, life is good.
Loved it but I wanted to see them go further 😭 I love Pancakes 🥞 down-to-earth personality. She stood ten toes down on teaching Dreu a lesson, but when the time was right she was back to loving him, seeing him, and speaking to him with love and adoration🤧🤎🥹 Now my boy Dreu❤️ is the funnest love-sick puppy ever🤣 I love that Dreu was unapologetically himself. He is funny as hell🤣 "Take Me Through There Take Me Through There" 🤣 He's also this loving man who is willing to do any and everything for a second chance with his first and only love❤️🥹 He came in strong but gave her grace. He does not play about his Pancakes🥞❤️. He loved intentionally, reassured his woman that she was all he wanted and needed. He supported his woman's dreams, just as she did for him. He just wanted her to have the soft life she deserved and gave it to her effortlessly🤧😭❤️ Oh and they get nasty too 🙃🤧🤭 I also loved that we got to get a look at Bleu and Truly's future together. I literally screamed 😭🤎 I thoroughly enjoyed this book but I want more pages please😭🤎
Baby I loved me some Bleu and I definitely love Dreu!!!!! These brothers are something else. I don’t normally care for second chance romances for the most part but this one was sooooo worth it. I knew he was gone get his pancakes back the way he shed tears when he talked to his brother about her. Just like his brother “that’s a good man Savanna”!!!! He came in and showed her that he was a provider. I loved their story a man that will show you what he’s about and capable of when it comes to making sure that you are good. That man paid bills BILLS and did it with no hesitation. When a man can upgrade a woman and do it without being asked and with a motive that’s what it’s all about. I just wanted so much more story from both brothers. I’m glad that Bleu’s life was mentioned and him and Truly were doing great. It was so good I didn’t want it to end. Plus how funny he was. I know I was disturbing the peace with the way I was laughing. This made a good wrap up for my January reading.
I loved this book! First of all I love for a hilarious main character and Dreu was a fool okay😂 I also love when there’s accountability. Dreu recognized where he went wrong the first time around with Jatavia, acknowledged it, and WORKED to prove this time around would be different.
Now let’s get into the love story of it all! Whew, Authoress Masterpiece, this is how you write a love story. There was honest and open communication without judgement, yearning and emotional support. What stood out to me the most is how both Dreu and Jatavia uplifted each other, especially when there was negative self-talk, and pushed each other to strive for greatness and fulfill their dreams.
The one downfall and one reason it wasn’t a 5 star is because of the grammatical errors. It didn’t take away from the storyline, but was enough to be noticeable. Overall, this was a GREAT story!
Started with the second book. Felt Like it was a standalone and didn’t need to have read the first, obviously spoilers for brothers book.
Talk about a secure man! Made me laugh but also appreciated to know what a woman’s worth is. “If he wanted to, he would” mentality should set a bar of what you need/want in a relationship. But Tavia didn’t just take she also gave back in her own ways. They knew each other’s insecurities and talked them out instead of adding to it.
Loved how they talked to each other and he knew what her dreams were. Knew how the she got mentally and gave her guidance to seek help. They both were young when they first met but had dreams. You see the character growth and appreciate that it can happen.
Book felt a little rushed in the end, no closure on his parents. Really didn’t meet Tavia’s parents and not sure if we needed to.
4⭐️ Y’all I knew I was going to love dreu’s book since he cried in bleu’s car talking about pancakes. He was never afraid to show emotion & man I loved that about him! You really don’t see much mms or men in general do it!
But this book was so damn funny😂!! “She don’t know what she doing, this girl just giving it out” iykyk😂 This was a real example of if you spin the block you need to come correct & Dreu did just that!
The book touched on seasonal depression & also anxiety as well & I loved how Dreu encouraged tavia to get a therapist to sit & talk to, shows it really cared for her well being. His proposal really had me on the verge of crying, idk Dreu grew so much since his brothers book I’m proud 🥹
Dreu and Tavia were a cute couple. I love how Dreu did what he needed to do to get his woman back. He learned his lesson and grew from it. Tavia was an amazing woman. There are not a lot of women who would have taken him back. She found something in her heart to forgive but stand on business for herself. I did feel sorry for Bleu and Dreu finding out about their parents. it can be hard to learn that someone within the relationship doesn't know how to not take it overboard. I believe their parents loved each other but because they have invited extra people in their lives it cause so many problems.
While reading Bleu I was interested in seeing what Dreu had going on with his music career. This story had me hollering every time someone else or himself had something negative to say about his rapping. I loved how Tavia was such a positive person for him and always affirmed him although she had her own battles. I really enjoyed seeing they were able to rekindle their friendship and relationship; Tavia didnt have any business with Devin punk self anyway! This story was very romantic and funny because Dreu was such an emotional man but no one faulted him for it, i love how Bleu was always his shoulder to cry on like a big brother should be!
First off, I gotta say the author did an amazing job with this book, the characters, and the storyline. Seriously fabulous. I absolutely adore this book. Dreu is quite a character, I really enjoyed him. I couldn't help but laugh out loud; I truly had a blast reading this. Then there's Jatavia, a.k.a. Pancake. I'd describe her as a sweet person just trying to survive and keep her head above water. Their love story and reconnection is wonderful. You can tell they love each other a lot. I'd totally recommend reading this book. It was my pleasure reading your books 🥰.
This definitely a good Hood Romantic love story. “Second time around “ I definitely believe in God universe. And second chances will turn out to be the best chance. Love and lessons. Where you manifest for something it may take time but it will happen, True love never fails. Drue knew Jatavia was his soulmate. When they were younger in the teenage years he didn’t know what being in love meant He was dealing with his own demons within his family, and she was dealing with her own mental issues within her self and the loss of her brother. Both emotionally damaged. Have overcome the pain replaced with love within one another ❤️
Dreu story did not disappoint. He was more serious than I thought and very in touch with his emotions. His honesty on BO had me chuckling because people be knowing better. It was the video shoot for me, the way I chuckled out loud.
His friendship and love for Jatavia, chef's kiss. The encouragement of taking her mental health seriously and promising to be right there, my heart blossomed. My boy pulled up and said, let's go home for real. Yeah, that was cute. Don't get it twisted she showed him the same support in his dark times. They just matched energy and belonged.
Dreu clowned, but he was so loving. I’m so glad he got his Pancakes back! It’s crazy that she was dating Devin, he wasn’t helping her financially, but wanted to use her for the concert because he didn’t want to go solo. She went to see Big D not knowing it was Dreu. Dreu let Devin know what it is. Came and got his woman and ain’t let her go! They were perfect for each other. She fits in perfectly with Bleu and Truly! Wish I could give this book more stars! Loved this read Masterpiece!
Dreu and Tavia, were 3 cute with they goofy asses. They were everything for each other. Loved how Dreu took accountability for his shortcomings and came in hot to get his pancake back. Dreu was goofy and random as shit but I loved that about him, he did speak affirmation over tavia and she instilled the same in him. Dreu parents were...something, specially his moms, def wanted to slap the taste out her mouth for her smart as comments, old and new. But Dreu and Bleu were a fun time for sure
Oh, what a cute story! Dreu loved him some of his Pancakes aka Jatavia. These Langston brothers know how to love a woman. Jatavia wasn’t gonna spin da block with Dreu after he hurt her the first time, but Big D grew up and came back strong! If you’re looking for a book, that is a great pallet cleanser and will get you out of a book slump this is it. I’m not gonna ruin it for everyone. Let’s just say it is wonderful to spend the luck. It’s been it well. This author never misses read this book.
Dreu is funny as hell lol. “This bih don’t know what she doing , she just giving it out” lmao that’s my favorite too. Besides that this storyline had some good life/love quotes. If a man ain’t trying to come in your life and clear your plate then what is he there for?? Everyone deserves a soft or softer life because indeed women can do it for themselves too but it feels even better when you have a partner wanting to elevate you even higher. This storyline was chefs kiss.
Dreu Langston really loved Jatavia, knew she was the love of his life. Though their backgrounds differed, he knew that she saw him just as he saw her. All too cocky, yet afraid of his feelings, Dreu thought that he could keep Tavia and entertain others. Latvia quickly dropped him like a bad habit. Fast forward four (?) years, a chance encounter brings them together again, and Dreu is not pumping the brakes in trying to get his Pancakes back!
4.5 ⭐️ Reading Dreu was such a good time! Two things he definitely didn’t play about, Jatavia and people hygiene.
This story is about accountability, redemption, and doing the work to make things right. Dreu was hilarious from his selective listening skills to the way he knew exactly what Jatavia needed without her saying one word.
There is nothing sexier than a man who is self-aware, emotionally vulnerable, and dedicated to his woman’s happiness. This is a feel good, universe aligning for a second chance story. If you haven’t read it, add it to your list!
